I need to finally find my original CDs. They are in a different country in a remote garage (I hope...). It would probably be cheaper to by it again.
Writer Christie Golden, who has worked with Blizzard on multiple novels set in the Warcraft universe over the past two decades, is helping to bring “parity” to the stories of Warcraft 3 and World of Warcraft, which will require retconning some of the strategy game’s story. Those changes will bring “renewed focus to a few central characters that we thought deserved a little bit more time in the limelight,” Stillwell said.
“There’s been 16 years of evolution of this franchise outside of this game,” Stillwell explained. “Some of that, especially central characters like Jaina and Sylvanas, these people who mean so much more to the world now who didn’t get as much focus [in the original Warcraft 3] because we just didn’t know where they were going to be.”

“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson.I still have and play my original Warcraft III installation on this ancient coal-fired computer from time to time.
Now I need a new PC to accommodate this, Starcraft remastered and hopefully my wishlist of Warcraft I and II remasters as well as a remaster collection of Command and Conquer games.
Does this make me old to remember when these games first came out?

I sincerely hope most of those changes aren't The Dog Shot First retcons to make the factions more black and white.

It's been years since I've played Warcraft III (mainly because nearly all of my P Cs broke down due to viruses, and my family Mac is utterly worthless to play games on), and yet I still remember the good old times where I build armies of orcs and then razed all of my enemy bases. In fact, Warcraft III is what brought me into the larger World of Warcraft (lore that is, I don't play the MMO).
If I ever get a gaming PC, I would certainly enjoy Warcraft III reforged, though I wonder what kind of changes they'll make to the story (and the characters).
We'll probably get stuff like Dark Ranger Sylvanas in the Reign of Chaos story, Kil'jaeden with wings, and a Dalaran that actually looks decent.

This song needs more love.Imagine a decently made Fall of Quel'tahlas. There is so much potential for updates in general, but some parts being uplifted would be on a whole different level.
“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson.Whatchu talkin' bout Willis? None of the Quel'Thalas missions in Warcraft III were bad. The only flaw was once you get Banshees in The Fall of Silvermoon you can't research Possession and thus steal techtrees without cheats. (The entire High Elf faction tech tree is available to build IF you do use cheats and possess a High Elf Worker.)
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."I would say that they are certainly going to some characters new models like Vol'jin, who was just a Witch Doctor in the Founding of Durotar. Which would be awesome. Gazlowe the Goblin could go from a regular three-Goblin manned team Zapper to a Goblin with those long arms. And how about a Mannoroth with no beard.
I do hope they don't make Thrall too peaceful. He prefers to avoid bloodshed, but he doesn't hesitate to give his enemies a good beating. With that said, I think Grom's disobedience will be retained given that there needs to be a reason for Grom harvesting wood in Ashenvale.
Also I hope that they'll include the missions from the Warcraft III demo and reintroduce us to Sen'jin. That'll be nice.
Maybe they'll also show how Muradin and Mal'ganis survived being killed by Arthas.

I just want the unit selection cap removed.
WARCRAFT 4 WHERE
Glad you could bake it, vuther
Man this game brings so many memories. I wonder if they will include the secrets like the Pandas and that one Hydralisk hiding in the night elf campaign.
And we will see Lord Garithos in all of his 4k Glory!
Uni catI totally named myself after said character.
I could play it from Arthurian legend, but it's not.
x6 I didn't say it was bad! What I mean, imagine if that campaign was more detailed: all the named npcs including future DKs (Koltira for example), undead and the survivors participating; the architecture and map layout like in Wow; Sunwell in all its glory; Sylvanas fighting to her last breath (honestly she is a walking shame to Tyrande); Anasterian, Magisters and Liadrin fighting; the decimation of the population and the tragedy of the betrayal by Dark'Khan. There is so much Blizz could do with it.

“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson.I'd rather have all three games remastered but apparently that would be really difficult with 1 and 2 cuz they're so old. Which is a shame, cuz I'd love the whole backstory of WOW.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Honestly yeah, that'd be way cooler. They're ancient history at this point, with the gameplay and controls to match. Only the most curious and nostalgic would ever consider playing them still.

I'm wondering if they won't release mods that put the WC 1 and 2 maps and campaigns in the 3 engine. I know there are already unofficial mods that do the same thing.
This song needs more love.Remastering Warcraft: Orcs and Humans and Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness would be an extremely difficult task even with HD graphics.
They operate on very old lore that has been retconned long ago. And they are designed as parallel campaigns that aren't in-sync with one another. How can one do the Fall of Lordaeron for the Orc Campaign if canonically, they lose due to Gul'dan's betrayal (which happens after the Siege of Lordaeron instead before unlike the original game)? Likewise, should Lothar's death be like the ambush in the original game, or should it take cues of modern lore where he fought Doomhammer one on one?
Not to mention that the reason why Warcraft III had a hero system was because in the old games, players usually sit around in their base building and upgrading their armies for the majority of the game and not really going to war. Where as Warcraft III encourages to player to move out their troops from the bases.

Exactly why it'd be good to see, get a hard declaration on what's still canon. Even just jury-rigging Warcraft 3 and its factions into Warcraft 1 and 2 games would be neat solely for that.
If that was done, it would be a complete reboot of the series.
Well if they don't want to do that, they could instead MAKE WARCRAFT 4
Why would they make Warcraft 4 when they have a machine that prints money? This is why I hate MMOs.
I would prefer remaking the first two games and Tides (or a movie series that was more drawn out and true to the lore instead of being just two hours of fanservice), but I'll certainly take a WC 3 remaster. Especially considering all the retcons. Will they put stuff about the Titans in where appropriate? Thrall and Tyrande visit ruins at various points that might be good places for references to the Curse of Flesh and so on.
Oh, and it's been forever since I played Wow, so I'm curious—did we ever get an answer to why the Draenor races were flesh? The Azeroth races started as metal and stone but were corrupted by the Old Gods. Was there ever any real origin for Draenor?
Orcs have flesh because of the Botann and their spore clinging to the bodies of rock creatures and slowly degenerating their bodies into Orcs. Eredar/Draenei don't have an explanation.
This song needs more love.Maybe have an expansion pack that takes place during the events of WOW for Warcraft 3: Reforged.
