Super Smash Bros Ultimate (SPOILER Thread)

Huh. The common theory is that Joker is coming out around April 24th. But Best Buy updating the Pass image now is random, unless he's being released earlier than people thought. Some are hoping for tomorrow for April 1st, but after having a mini direct update just to say 'Here's a vague render of Joker,' releasing him out of the blue just feels counter to how hush-hush they've been since the Game Awards.

Pretty good design, though.

Its funny: people have been clamoring for news, hovering over Nintendo connections to see something, anything, be updated. Then its Best Buy that saves the day.

That's either racist or a poor grasp on the English language.

April Fools! Halo's official Twitter doesn't actually want Master Chief in Smash.

How interesting...it seems that Persona 5 S is supposed to have an announcement around the same time as the supposed theory day. If i were a betting man, id say theres gonna be a link to joker being fully revealed and the new countdown.

I'm curious as to what Best Buy will leak next. I'm surprised that Nintendo gave BB Joker's render when they are so hesitant to upload it to the Smash site. But hey, finally something.

Next Best Buy will leak Bandana Waddle Dee's render before Nintendo even hints at it!

So a person who works as Minecraft is subtly denying the fact that Steve was in Smash when the DLC decisions were being made (Her post is on November 1st).

If we're getting a Minecraft rep, it's likely Banjo.

I'm just hoping that the end of the month they announce the next DLC. Even if that's too much to hope for.

I'm sure when they release Joker, they'll do some sort of reveal for whoever the next fighter is (Brave or whoever).

Bet we'll have to wait til e3 to find out the next character

I'm not entirely sure how they intend to get all five characters out by February of next year at this rate.

In 10 months? By releasing one every 2 months.

Joker is supposed to come out in April. We have 23 days left in April.

Then, a character in June, another one in August-September, another in October-November, and the final one will be out before February.

I was gonna say that the pattern is very similar to the one we got for Smash 4.

Mewtwo - Released in April

Lucas, Roy and Ryu - Released after E3

Cloud - Released in December

Corrin and Bayonetta - Released in February.

If anything Smash 4 was worse because we got the announcement of Cloud almost 5 months after obtaining Ryu.

So DLC 3 and 4 are going to get leaked?

God I hope not. Leaks kills so much hypes

I would not mind if this was the case, but it sounds like Ultimate already develop the 5 characters. Unless Smash 4 did the same thing.

for those who don't read french/don't wanna read the wall of text, here's a summary :

-Joker will use the personas of his teammates on top of arsene, change personas in the same way shulk does, and kirby can copy that. his final smash is straight up spoiling the climax of the game.

-Morgana and jack frost asssist trophies.

-"Jane" is the protagonist of the P 5 R game announced, which has plenty of implications best discussed in a persona thread, and will be a costume for Joker.

-Mementos stage (expected), the reaper is a stage hazard

-gets his own world of light map, with the final boss of p5 at the end (moar spoilers)

-Minecraft stage with endermen, creepers and so on as stage hazards, minecraft Wo L map with the ender dragon as a boss, separate dlc for 2 euros.

-second fighter is Chrono. Fights with his teammates to make combination attacks, except magus who has no teamups with him and will be an assist trophy

-New stage is the end of times, with hasch and speccio as stage hazards

-Wo L map for chrono, with lavos as a boss and several eras, apparently

also, spirits and music for all of those, apparently 13 for p5 (which sounds pretty neato to me)

-Comeback of the homerun smash and the smash boss modes

-stage creator revamped with a mario maker-like interface that allows for much more creativity.

-all of that will be available right after the end of the direct.

Personal thoughts : a lot of too good to be true, an uncharacteristic massive spoil of a lot of things for persona 5, the addition of 3 Wo L maps that sounds very complex looks like way too much work for what it is, the new fighter and the new stage do not sounds true to me, buuuuuuuuuuut it does a pretty damn good job at looking like the subtitles we usually get for a smash bros direct, and it does gives an attention to a lot of details much like the smash directs usually does. If anything, the leak gets points for trying. But I won't believe it until I actually see the direct it's supposed to be the subtitles of.

I'm sad the thing that makes me most distrusting of that "leak" is the idea that they'll actually put in effort for the stage builder this time.

Mother 3 had its entire plot and the final area spoiled to high hell during Brawl and a lot of Fire Emblem Awakening and Kid Icarus Uprising spoilers were in Smash 4. They're not opposed to spoiling things.

But I agree this all sounds too good to be true. 3 whole new World of Light stages complete with boss fights, on top of Home Run Contest and the Stage Builder? That's a bit much. I don't think Smash has ever had that much new content dumped into it at once.
