Bowsette, Hill of Origin

The horned blonde stared at Rukia silently for a moment with a fierce, piercing glare; Smoke curling from her nostrils when she breathed out. Her jaw trembled for a moment, and her hands curled into tight fists. So tight that the muscles in her arms flexed and bulged impressively.

"THAT'S IT!" Bowsette boomed after a moment, throwing her head back and slamming one heeled beet into the ground dramatically, the roar easily heard even a distance from the hill. "SOMETHIN'S GOIN' TO BURN!"

Swinging her head back down, the Koopa Queen turned her fiery gaze across the hilltop, panning past the various people standing nearby. Even in her rage, she wasn't about to burn someone and risk this not being their game; Killing them permanently. When her eyes fell upon a flowering tree nearby, she knew she'd found her target for some stress relief. Breathing in deeply for a moment, Bowsette leaned forward and opened her toothy mouth wide as a wave of scorching fire billowed from it towards the defenseless flora.

Lady (Guild Hall)-Recruitment

Lsdy nodded as Naga explained her....unique problems. Assuming she was not exaggerating, there was a decent chance that Naga was not fully human.

"I see." Lady said. "Well-"

She was cut off before she could continue as the girl who had responded to her map question from earlier spoke again, this time asking if she was willing to accept some job offer. She turned to face her.

"Oh, no need to worry about my aim, I assure you, I know how to use the cannon." She said, smirking. "But before we go trying to figure out what squad you want me on, mind explaining the situation? Like I said, I'm new here, don't know what's going on, and I don't just blindly accept every job offered to me, I have standards which I won't break for any amount of reward."

Enterprise - Naga's place

Enterprise let out a sigh of relief and for a moment just looked really exhausted, though she smiled a bit after Yorktown gave her approval at how she had handled the meeting.

"Yeah it has been awhile, do they have anything here we can actually eat though?"

Char - Robodinoland

Char held up a hand after O'connell offered to share the spoils.

"It's fine, I doubt I'd be able to do anything with them personally so I'll just help you get through and hope this benefits the city as a whole."

He took a look at the Jeep next and took a moment to think.

"I could probably try and guide the vehicle down just by pushing from the front so it doesn't go down the stairs like crazy but we might want to consider hand transporting the spoils to the other side just incase the jeep gets wrecked."

Gespenst - Starting Hill

Gespenst bowed out of gratitude to Cagliostro. True he didn't know much about this person infront of him, but the alchemist had been willing to help him out without being asked for something in return, so the black mech as very grateful for the generosity. He decided the first thing he should do was write down his name to give a proper introduction.

"I am the PTX-002C, or Gespenst Haken. Pleased to meet you"

He looked over at Bowsette throwing a temper tantrum next as she set a tree on fire over something trivial that he hadn't quite figured out.

Its yo boi, its finally over.

Guzma stretched out his arms. The trainer thought the meeting was a roaring success. The fact neither Enterprise nor Kaga devolved into probably a naval vessel version of a catfight was good enough, but the two managing to semi-coordinate an assault on the Fire Nation was a touchdown! Pity he only just remembered to mention the possibility of Kaga using the Fire Nation resources to attack Enterprise only and making her promise not to do that, as well as continuing the truce between the two after the plan, but Guzma did not want to jinx things by mentioning it just when the meeting was over.

Getting up from the seat and then stretching his legs, Guzma now managed to pay attention to the rest of the Guild Hall. He noticed the aftermath of a mini-fight broke out in one secluded corner of the building, but the damage was just a single shattered chair and a table missing a single leg. He was honestly more surprised the brawl was so quiet he did not notice. And anyone really noticing for that matter.

Guzma was hungry himself, but the first thing he did was approach Vessel.

"Hey, what's up?" the trainer greeted the tall bug man, being in eye level with the insect warrior despite the trainer's slouching.

Entry 001 Part 11 (Lune - Adventurer's Guild)

I must've zoned out as the meeting went by in a flash. Maybe what we were talking about was boring, but espionage and blowing stuff up are awesome in my book. Or maybe the meeting went by so quickly because I showed up so late.

Luckily, the fox girl welcomed me into the group and said that any help from the others is much appreciated. Thank goodness! I finally get the chance to be a hero again! Maybe coming here was a good sign?

Suddenly, someone came by with a sweet motorcycle! I think she called herself Lady, which is an odd choice for a name. It's no better than those weirdos who call themselves Gai in my opinion. Honestly, I wish parents would pick better names than Gai or Lady.

Unfortunately, she was busy having a long discourse on economics with some of the others at the former meeting site, so I couldn't exactly talk to them. It would be rude if I intruded. I looked around until I finally noticed a floating toynote  at the meeting.

“So, uh, how did you get here?”, I asked out of curiosity. Surely, someone must've left this toy behind. Maybe I'll get to know the owner if I get the answer.

O'Kais, Hill

-Not the same species? This grows ever more complicated. Perhaps they have yet to establish proper gene-scanning technology, which would aid in determining their compatibility and tendency towards mutation. But such considerations must wait for more peaceful times.-

Several soldiers of the Fire Nation have seen the wisdom in laying down their arms, and joined the city's population willingly. From what I have learned, the Fire Nation is still in a state of Mont'au, and turn their hand against their own instead of striving together. We should open parleys first, surely there are others within their ranks who will see reason and join the Greater Good. The gue'vesa'el called Wei will be of some help.

The Good Stuff, Naga's Place

As M16 got the various recruits on up, one might notice that here and there would be a few differences in the villagers that had been recruited by the fox. It was a lot like one of those 'before and after' comparisons, especially considering the fact that they looked a lot more like the stereotypical interpretation of a medieval pirate and had bulked up some.

Meanwhile Wei was also called into the area, coming in bearing what appeared to be a tray of tea and its associated items that he deftly put on the table before beginning to serve the steaming hot beverage in ceramic cups, concentration evident on his face while his hands steadily poured the liquid gold without spilling a single drop.

"As you wished, the good stuff. Tea made from the finest leaves gathered from the White Dragon bush from the eastern Earth Kingdom, proclaimed by the Dragon of the West Iroh to be 'so delicious it's heartbreaking'. Vintage crop of 84 AG- the Year of the Dragon as well. I do hope that by being associated with such mythical animals thrice over that we shall have a good omen for our plans to come." Admiral Wei calmly proclaimed as he stood back with a small smile.

"Yes... yes we did." Still somewhat frazzled from the escapades as was evidenced by the fact her clothes were rather ruffled and mussed up along with the fact that there were leaves and branches all over her person, Wendolyn nevertheless couldn't help but smirk as she enjoyed the feeling of victory as she looked over the giant eggs. A lot more dangerous than stealing from chicken coops but also a lot more satisfying so to speak.

"You most certainly proved to be a boon and a capable adventurer this day. For that you have my thanks." Ruffling around on her person before handing over a small bag of silver coins on over to Kat, the proprietress cheekily grinned. "If you ever want a job again, feel free to ask and I'll get you the good requests, alright?" Swiveling her head when she heard more noise though, the iconic Wendy saw a lot more people bandying about than usual. "What's with the hullabaloo?"

Model Z rotated his unchanging face plate towards Lune to regard her more politely, mostly due to the fact that having no discernible facial expressions made for awkward conversation with those that didn't know him personally. "Ah, I just floated on over. Aile wanted to continue cleaning up so I came in her stead since we're sharing a data transmission so she could listen in real time. I am Model Z, Aile's one of Aile's partners."

Hill

"A pleasure to meet you as well. Always nice to see people be polite." Responding in kind to the mecha, Cagliostro heard the roar of anger being emitted nearby and turned around to see the dragon-woman setting fire on some nearby flammable trees. "...At least she's getting it out of her system right now." Keeping watch in case she had to put out any fires that would go out of control, the alchemist let out a very long sigh and wondered if this was what Nameless had to deal with.

Robodinoland -> Other Side of Portal

"My apologies for the oversight, everyone." Sighing as he saw the problems caused for Eve and Char due to his own actions, the man nodded and accepted the offer for what it meant. "We shall have to do the best that we can then but thank you for your offers." And then the group in question would somehow overcome the difficult terrain of STAIRS and safely have the various parts on the other side with only the minimal amount of dingings as well as old man back pains for the elderly ninja. "I have to remember I'm not as young as I used to be..."

Airship

The Tigers would agree to the simple request with serious gazes, mostly since the Fire Nations were no friends of theirs and that they owed the humans for their aid. Waving off the retreating Tigers cheerfully, the two demons then turned their gaze towards Siluca and the rest while quietly showing their expectations about upholding their end of the bargain.

Yukari, Tank-Denied
"...Yeah, it's safe."

Somehow, she seemed a lot calmer than when the prospects of being in a tank were dangled in front of her. "I don't think that anyone around this part of town specifically would hurt you, actually. Just stay away from portals."

If Shirakami did get outta the tank, her friend on the other end of the line would be already saluting her. She still had a smile on her face, though much more reserved than her delighted shouting would've suggested.

"Yukari Akiyama, Ooarai Girl's School, reporting! Sorry that you're alone, but that's how we all ended up, I think." At least, she hadn't met any people that got to bring along their friends, siblings or some combination of the above for no reason. "But, uhhh...welcome to Frontier!"

Juri, Adventurer's Guild

"So after that diversion," Juri turned back to Mokou. "What are you looking for here?"

Chun-Li, Adventurer's Guild

Once Wendy showed up, Chun-Li walked over to her since she was the proprietor, "Yeah, that's my fault."

"Two opposing factions within the city wanted to meet on neutral ground and decided that Naga's operation here was the best choice," Chun-Li explained to Wendy. "I recommended this place specifically since it was a restaurant."

"I figured it would be good publicity for a place like this and help prevent in-fighting," Chun-Li shrugged slightly. "I did inform Naga about it and she was okay with it."

The Vessel, Confusion Imminent, Place of Meeting

The bugbeast stared at this strange Cream Creature with a bush on its head. It occurred to the Vessel just how tall the man was. That it slouched no doubt helped to even the height level a little, but this Guzma was still one heck of a person.

When prompted, the Vessel looked up in minor confusion, expecting some kind of meaning to be found. Nothing but a ceiling with a lamp attached to it. Slowly, it looked back to Guzma and simply pointed up at the light, the impassiveness on its mask indicating that it took the question entirely seriously. Or, perhaps, that was just its default expression. Well, a lack of it.

Oscar, Diplomacy Differences, Hill

Bowsette's temper tantrum was met with nothing but a reproachful glare. Still, it seemed that the savage woman had some modicum of restraint and did not aim for anyone in her fury. It still felt like a waste of a good tree. "If they agree to cooperate, I see no reason not to introduce them to the ways of Reason." On that front, Oscar agreed with O'Kais, even if the terms slung by the man (...Tau?) in the armor were still unknown to him. However, his approach was more pessimistic. A zealot would not be easily turned to a good cause.

"That said, caution must be exercised. Who is this Wei however? Is he a commander for the Fire Nation of sorts?" They must have had some sort of organization. Oscar knew there was a "fire lord", but that seemed to him like a chief position rather than a field officer.

It's yo boi, mistaking ignorance for jovialty.

Guzma noticed how Vessel was actually pointing upwards at the ceiling lighting. And then promptly gave a hearty laugh. "Heh, good one," the trainer replied, winking and pointing at Vessel with finger guns. It would be clear the gangsta thought the bug warrior was joking.

"Anyway, name's Guzma," he greeted, holding out his hand for a handshake.

Rukia - The Hill

It wasn't hard to notice that the horned woman that asked rukia the strange question was not happy with her answer. She could not figure out why for the life of her. When she exploded and started shouting about burning things, that was time to put some space between them. Rukia jumped a few feet backwards away from Bowsette, just in time to see her actually breath out flame directed at the tree on the hill.

Rukia waited a moment to see if the horned woman would redirect her fury at the shinigami. It did not look like that would happen, luckily. Leaving her alone seemed like the best idea for now, so she turned her attention back to the blond-haired girl who seemed to know the most about what was going on. "Excuse me." Rukia approached, now aware that she was visible. "I overheard some of what has been said about this world. Could you tell me about important places in this city? I'd like to make myself useful soon." she asked.

Kaga - Call To Action

"We are going to kill a king" ,the fox replied to lady bluntly, not really bothering to waste time with the formality of the situation. "Honestly the details of the whole thing are best explained later... I have to explain this multiple more times tonight, so asking M16 or waiting for one of those might work better" she finished explaing.

When her men arrived, Kaga got up and went outside to address them, not having a podium from which to speak she instead decided to wait for them to take formation, as she walked back and fort in front of them. When there had been a chance for formation to form she spoke up.

"Alright men, I have gathered you all here to call out for volunteers, in the coming days we are going to make a strike on the Fire Nation itself, and hopefully end this conflict before it starts. Before a great victory however there must always be a great sacrifice. It will be an incredibly dangerous attack, with a very real chance that we may not return... This, paired with the fact that I have told those of you who were with the Hibana from the beginning that I would not force you to attack your own countrymen is why I will not be ordering any one to undertake this mission with me.... I am simply asking for volunteers, brave men and women who will fight for glory! For peace! And to bring victory! Know full well, that I will not be asking you to do any thing I would not myself and will be leading this mission from the front." The fox paused with her pacing and motioned for any volunteers to form up for her.

"As for the rest of you, while there is no shame in not joining in the offensive. If any thing happens to us, and we do not return Admiral Wei is to assume full control of the navy. In addition we will be needing the Hibana, and just like for the rest of us, her odds.... are not the best so starting tonight, we will begin the process of striping the ship, and moving all personal effects to my train station. I know it is not ideal for sailors to be stationed ashore, but full accommodation will be made, and with any luck we will end this with better vessels then which we started." The fox paused again, catching her breath once more she looked off to where the train station was.

Finaly she finished off her preparations, "Lastly, any one who is not on this mission WILL have there own job... New information has been gathered about this place, that will cause a drastic shift in naval power. I am going to help you prepare for it. You see that flat area on the other side of the station? Where all the trees are?" Kaga points to where she means. "We are going to burn down a field 300 meters long, by 50 meters wide, and make sure it is flat. Then construct 3 wooden buildings to the side 15 by 15 meters each, with one of the walls being made of canvas... While this may make no sense to you now, I assure you that by the time we are done, you will understand full well what we have undertaken.... Is this clear?

Shirakami - Tank On the Hill

There was a clank as the hatch of the tank opened, and the fox nervously poked her ears and hat above its rim again, before after a cautious delay stepping out of the vehicle herself. Though the first thing she was greeted by was a salute, which she was honestly not expecting. The surprise of this caused her to slip off the side of the vehicle and fall to the ground with an "oof" before giving her own salute back.

"Shirakami Fubuki, 55th unit, 1st Yokosuka Special Naval Landing Force, pleasure to be here."

Gespenst - Starting Hill

The Black mech looked around after giving a proper introduction of himself to Cag, Bowsette wasn't someone he wanted to approach to make a discussion and he couldn't exactly help Rukia out with information, so he decided to walk over towards the tank, Yukari, and Shirakami.

Looking the tank over, Gespenst thought it odd how the design was different from the military vehicles he had seen back in the endless frontier. It wasn't as eccentric in design as the city sized tank for one, but it also lacked some of the heavier fire power he had seen used. He tapped on the armor to gauge its thickness next along with the type of material it was made out of.

Enterprise - Naga's place

"Yeah we could. Alright let's go get something to eat."

Enterprise laughed a bit at Yorktown's joke, but the truth is she was starting to feel hungry.

Char - Shrine gate

"It's fine. We can't be young for ever unfortunately, not even my current body is immune to time."

Char looked back at the Shrine gate and thought for a bit.

"Anyway if you wanna use the gate again you're welcome to. I'm mostly just standing guard to make sure that whatever is on that other side, stays on that side unless we want it here."

Timeskip 2 Weeks Later

And so once more, time would continue to flow ever forward as the Frontiers ever so steadily expanded and became all the larger. Arguments and ideals would clash against each other from the inhabitants to produce the sparks that would goad civilization ever onward, though the possibility of it becoming an uncontrollable blaze was also something to be considered.

Individuals would pool their strengths together to create order from chaos, slowly taming the lands and puzzling out how to best survive in the Frontiers. Progress plain and simple could be seen all about the world in question as the inhabitants struggled to make a place for themselves in this new world...

As for things in the sector that our brave champions were based about, the two weeks that had transpired would bring about changes great and small to Akihabara as well as its surrounding locations. They were...

Flood of Refugees: In which Akihabara would find themselves being hit by another outpouring of newcomers that had been flung into the lands as was the wont of the seemingly random assortment of surprise map seeding that the world seemed to enjoy. This time the people that came into the world appeared to be of swarthy colors, meek on the surface and yet filled with an inner sturdiness as well as will to survive. Further inspection of the people would reveal that they were called 'Darcsens' and that there were roughly 800 of them of all age groups, split roughly between the genders.
  • The Darcsens would then to slowly integrate into the new community in question, rather surprised that they weren't discriminated against by the locals and were even welcomed into the area by groups of more enthused friendly villagers. Contributing with their knowledge of somewhat modern knowledge as well as hardy cultures, the Darcsens were rather pleased that they could live in somewhat relative peace and contributed to the cogs of society with hardy determination as to repay their benefactors. Ragnite knowledge index has also substantially skyrocketed due to the group being from the same world as those strange minerals.

Fire Nation Steady Withdrawal: Due to Fire Lord Ozai's orders to withdraw all troops back to the capitol to amass for a single powerful blitzkrieg strike against the unknown 'barbarians' that the Fire Nation was fighting against, the Akihabara side of the strait in question would find itself to be more calm in the upcoming days as the aggressive elements agitating the settlers were recalled so the colonists were allowed a bit more peace of mind.

Chocobo Breeding Program: Wendolyn's ideas to steal Chocobo eggs were hit with a success and now there's a flock of domesticated hatchlings running about the farmlands outside Akihabara proper, the rapid growth of the chicks showing that it wouldn't take long before they could be used in the place of horses or oxen. Lizardmen from the Bluetail Tribe could be seen showing up every now and then to eye the poor birds with a gleam in their eyes, causing no small amount of trouble to the villagers tasked with raising them.

Nasod Production: The steady supply of mechanical animal parts brought back from the other side of the portal with Char's permission has landed in the hands of Eve the Nasod Queen who wasted no time in churning out various energy cores and fully autonomous machines refashioned out of the scrap. Eventually a small factory was able to come into fruition from the repeated hunting trips in question.

Class Changes Up the Wazoo: The militia of like-minded villagers that sprouted up with intent of protecting the city would go out and fight against the local fauna both to amass experience points as well as bring home the bacon (sometimes literally). There are now roughly 250 units of Villagers who had become more combat oriented classes so the base fighting level of the armed forces were now much better than prior.

Mass Production Milestone: Dwarven smiths are now much busier due to the Darcsens that came from a time where factories reigned supreme, showing the talented crafters how to make the various equipment one would need to support factories and workshops with. As a result, metallurgical knowledge has advanced by leaps and bounds and the beginnings of assembly lines could be seen in a half-baked state as the hardy people conspired together. Sadly iron itself was in short supply for the moment and the metallic materials obtained from the portal in question were too advanced to be totally reworked though more rough MacGuyvering could be done on some parts for a somewhat patchwork job.

Pikgirls: A new race was born due to hubris that towered above even that of the gods as well as mad science, performed on the Onions that spawned the various Pikmins into existence. As a result to Cagliostro flipping the middle finger to providence and sanctity, there now exists tiny plant girls running around like pixies armed with thimble helmets and needle swords that tirelessly culled the pest population from destroying the crops. Their newfound cuteness also ensured that their own numbers survive by invoking a psychological response from larger humanoid life forms who wanted to protect the precious things. They ride around in toy sized golems because a certain alchemist went for the overkill option.

Orphanage and Schoolhouse: Due to there being enough people willing to help construct the buildings in question, Dreadnought's plans to educate and shelter the children would be able to function as structures were now embedded into the trees in the forest to make a sort of small village in the boughs. 130 Children that came into the lands without their parents or were orphaned were taken in by the dragon woman, setting up shop and affording the kids a lifestyle that wouldn't cause them to fizzle out from having no guardians.

Red Skies: Coming towards the end of the two weeks, one would slowly figure out that the very sky itself seemed to be set ablaze by some sort of celestial omen. Those with special gear could see that there was a fiery comet blazing across the heavens that hurtled ever steadily closer to the dome of the skies that covered the newly born world, the atmosphere turning a very fiery color and causing alarm to spread across the populace of the non-Fire Nation forces in Akihabara. On the other hand, friendly Firebenders would note that their powers were slowly but steadily being amplified by the strange phenomenon as best evidenced when Admiral Wei attempted to brew tea but turned his kettle into molten slag.
All in all, the two weeks were rather bustling with nervous energy and Akihabara was now a hive of activity as the populace ran here and there with almost fevered vigor, hoping that their physical activities would take the mind off of the ominous signs that seemed to have sprung up.

M16A1 - Train Station

"Alright, here it is," M16A1 explained to Kaga as she took the tarp off of a suspicious-looking couch-sized lump in the impromptu 'workshop' she had set up in one of the large empty rooms from the train station. A lump that definitely hadn't been there the last time the fox had been around that section.

There was.... a robo-cow.

"Neat, huh?" M16's voice said from the cow's speaker.

"I figured it could be useful for getting around," M16 explained. "Practiced ripping out the connection to the control module and rigging up one of those little bastards with the big red eye to my network." She jerked her thumb at the machine standing in the corner before turning her focus back to the cow.

"Then I moved onto something a little bigger. Might not have any guns on it, but it's just about the toughest thing we can disable - there's some bigger machines but I'm not so sure about jacking into 'em yet. Maybe someone else has had some luck with the big buzzsaw bastards, but I haven't heard anything about it. Anyway that's not the point, the point is...."

She walked on over and put a hand on the cow's horn, slapping it softlike like she was some salesman.

"This baby's at least big enough for a person or two to sit on. Make it easier on your feet. Thought that while you might be fast at sea, you could use the help on land. When we go in for the big attack, I could leave it waiting at the shore to pick you up. So might be good to practice hopping on."

She nodded.

"Come on Foxy, wanna take me for a ride?" the cow said.

Entry 002 - Part 1 (Lune's New Shop)

And everything became a blur after that question, but I all know is that Aile, me and the other newcomers helped this city get back in shape. Apparently, it was called Akihabara or something like that. I even set up a little shop making cool action figures to pass the time.

You know, I'm glad I got back into that habit. I did make a pretty profit off that joint venture with that Laura girl who claims she's not a giant even though she was much bigger than me. What the heck is she doing right now?

I even hired a few villagers here and there to act as my assistants/merchants. Since there was no currency, I paid them with anything I could find out in the wild & any figurines I could make in my spare time. They thought the pay was decent, but could use a bit more substance. Any pay's better than nothing, right?

Despite the action here & there, running the shop and fixing Akihabara up was pretty uneventful until I saw a familiar figure walk past my stand. He looks like a black Gespenst, which was the power armor Gilliam Yeager used when he lived on Elpis. He walks like a Gespenst. He even acts like a Gespenst. Therefore, he must be Ges!

“Is that you, Ges?”

Gespenst - Shopping District

The black mech had spent his two weeks mostly just getting to know people, or at least trying to. That other mechanical being on the hill, Omega she called herself, was apparently studying people, which made gespenst curious and caused him to try and study her when he had some free time. He also followed Cag around like a puppy considering she had done him a favor when she realized he couldn't speak and he felt some what indebted, even if the action was small it was still a good first impression.

Most of the time however he was out trying to help the normal citizens plow their fields, putting all his strength to use just hauling a plow behind him. He didn't mind doing such menial labor, as it gave him time to think to himself while also helping others, and there were many things that had begun to bug him over the past two weeks. His new mechanical pet he had gotten from the other side also helped with plowing, it's eye having switch colors to a dull green since he had 'unshackled it' from it's more basic programming. Gespenst was treating it more like a pet dog than an extension of himself, much to the annoyance of the red machine who had wanted it disassembled.

For the moment though, he and his 'dog' were in the shopping district trying to find something he could use to make a flag or a new plow since the last one wore out...or at least he was until Lune started talking to him, calling him 'ges'. This was a nick name he hadn't heard before, but he turned and looked at Lune and gave a short hello wave before writing down a message.

"Do you know me?"

Char - Shrine Gate

Speaking of the red mech, Char himself was busy once again training his men, though he was remarkably less irritated with them than usual as their class change into actual combatants made them more effective fighters, though he still had no idea how that whole thing worked. Though he wasn't exactly keen on letting them actually get into a fight just yet, he was feeling much more confident in their survival rate.

Enterprise - The Hornet

Enterprise meanwhile had spent the two weeks completely focused on refitting the Hornet for actual combat duty, rather than worrying about any of Kaga's plans. As much as she disliked the Sakura Empire carrier, she wasn't wrong, striking as soon as possible would be to the benefit of everyone and was the smartest option.

Vessel, Before Timeskip

The bugbeast tilted its head in confusion when the bush-headed man replied to its answer with an uproarious laugh. And what was up with this strange gesture? At the very least, it recognized an extended hand and hesitantly shook it back, glancing briefly at Reiko to see if she could help decipher the strange ritual prior to the greeting.

Vessel, After Timeskip

Two weeks passed before it knew it. For that entire time, the Vessel largely hung out with its new... perhaps not friend, but a kindred spirit, the aforementioned taciturn sniper. They walked from an errand to errand, and so it watched her at work and helped whenever it could. She was rather frugal with her money, but for the bugbeast, which had no need for food or drink, it was just fine. Plus, with all the walkabout they were doing, Vessel's map of the land was steadily growing bigger and bigger. For now, it was doing the usual thing; tagging along with Reiko, that is.

Oscar, Timeskip, Adventurer's Guild

"First maxim!" Aide to the Eagle Empire, one Oscar Dragonia, called out to the assortment of people standing before him.

"Plans must be solid, and reactions flexible!" The crowd replied with conviction.

"Second maxim!"

"Know your enemy, and strike when they're weak!"

"Third maxim!"

"Never waver once the sword is drawn!"

"Fourth!"

"Control your feelings to control the tide of battle!"

"Fifth!"

"Never let your guard down, even when victorious!" The thirty-odd outfit of Orderlies of all races and genders, as assembled by Oscar's arduous work, knew these maxims by heart now, but the commanding officer required them to repeat them at the end of every training. There was some wisdom in that; they could not follow the ways of Reason if they didn't know exactly what it was for.

"Very good. That concludes today's session. Dismissed!" The volunteers were young, Oscar thought. Some of them never had to raise a weapon in their lives, and it was up to him to prepare them for the inevitable. It would be a waste to have them die for no reason and no cause. Over the course of these two weeks, he couldn't have possibly turned them into a fighting force - but he could teach them the basics that would become the foundation for their growth. Maintaining their own equipment, basic swordsmanship, how to recognize and neutralize a threat, how to help those in need...

For now, their main task was to secure the area around Hornet as that of the Eagle Union, and help with preparations for the imminent battle with the Fire Nation. Oscar didn't trust their skill enough to send them into a fight, but they could do their best in outfitting the "Hornet" or doing errands, both for the populous and the leaders of the Eagle. Speaking of that... well, he couldn't say he agreed with the plan the treacherous Sakura proposed. To him, that sounded like a situation ripe for abuse; Fire Nation would simply become a vassal to Kaga through their puppet king and threaten the balance of power.

He had his own opinion on the matter, but for now Lady Enterprise's word was gospel. He turned his steps towards the Adventurer's Guild. Most people worthy of notice was gravitating towards that place, likely seeking something to do. Previously, he used to visit the Hill, but the results from there varied; it seemed that O'Kais and Omega were still undecided on offering their own help.

As it stood, he was busy perusing the offers proposed for would-be adventurers, seeking something that coincided with the Eagle's general interest.

Lady (Guild Hall)-Waking up

Outside of the Wendy's, Lady exited, a cup of tea in her hand, and reflected on the past couple of weeks. To say she had not been sold at first on the idea of assassinating a king was an understatement. She was a demon hunter, not a paid assassin. Or unpaid, as the case may be.

Then she had gotten to speaking with the townsfolk, kind enough people for the most part, couple of men who spent a little too long leering at her, but nothing's perfect. She had to acquire new furnishings for the office, and she wasen't dragging it back on her own, so she recruited the aid of a few people who were kind enough to fill her in on what she had missed.

Suffice it to say, she felt a lot less bad about the idea of shooting the leadership of this "Fire Nation" in the face when she learned these people were a nation of genocidal, slave mongering, blood thirsty conquerors who had magic fire powers. And so by the time the meeting to plan the details of the attack came, she was ready to join up, and had her "Fee" of sorts ready. The fox woman had agreed readily enough to her demands for free ammo supply.

Then these new(er) people had shown up, the Darcsens. Wonderful people who seemed to live in a more civilized time, no offense to the rest of these people, but Lady preferred working plumbing, actual toilet paper as opposed to leaves, and guns to swords. These people seemed very smart, the fact that Lady diden't have to explain the barebones basics of what a gun is to them already earned them lots of points. Sure, their guns seemed to default to the World War 2 era, at least in looks and style, but they worked well enough.

At first, she had been worried when they told her they used some weird alternative to gunpower she'd never heard of. Then it turned out that a whole mine of the stuff had apparently been found somewhere nearby, which struck Lady as suspiciously convenient, but she wasen't complaining.

They had even told her that they could probably produce bullets for her, and assured her that they could make it compatable with her guns. She hadn't taken them up on that, she still had her own supply which she had not had much reason to make use of yet, but it was nice to know the option was there if needed.

All of this led her to today, the day of the big attack. She'd already loaded up on ammo and grenades. She'd decided to leave the cell phone locked up in the office, it's not like the city had a cell tower set up anyway, and considering they were going by boat and blowing one up, probably better not to risk it getting wet and ruined.

She found herself wishing that these people had coffee available to order, usually she diden't like starting the day so heavy (One thing she would give these people from the dark ages, they knew how to make tea), but she had a feeling today was going to be a long day, and so she would have made an exception today. Alas, without it, she was stuck drinking tea and muttering to herself quietly about being stuck in the dark ages.

She found herself walking past the job board, as she had taken to calling it, and stopped at it for a moment. You could always find a collection of the normal and the weird here. She had no time for a job today, but she'd taken a few in the past when she was not busy, and sometimes just the postings were good for a funny story, most notably one job she had taken out of curiosity more then anything, something hardly readable done in crayon. Turned out to be a sad little girl who needed help finding her teddy bear, and had gone wide eyed when her helper had more guns then she had ever seen in her life.

She glanced next to her, seeing a very stern eyed young man next to her with a bandage over one eye, glaring at the board with an intensity that Lady would normally reserve for her death glares.

"Anything good on the board today?" She asked the young man to make some small talk as she read the offerings herself.

Entry 002 Part 2 (Lune's New Shop)

This Ges held up a note to my face, which meant that he couldn't speak at all. Communication must be so hard if he had to deal with the blind and/or the illiterate. If only the technology was good enough for us to build a synthetic voice box. That can wait, though.

Back on topic, the note itself read, “Do you know me?” Judging by that response to my question, this Ges doesn't even know me. So he must be one of those counterparts like those Aichis swarming the Room at one point. 108, if you're still reading this, I didn't mean to insult you with that sentence. On the plus side, I can form a new friendship with this Ges.

To make sure he doesn't get suspicious of me, I decided to tell a half-truth. For this one, I pulled out the various recollections my dad Dr. Bian Zoldark had of Gilliam Yeager. Those stories were the bomb when I was younger. A shame Gilliam had to sacrifice himself to save Elpis.

“Er, uh..”, I mumbled as I tried putting my story together. “H-have you heard of a hero called Gilliam Yeager. He, uh, wore an armor called Gespenst. And his nickname, uh, was Ges.”

I held up a crudely painted Gilliam Yeager wooden figurine to prove my point. Hopefully, he got it soon enough. I continued, “For some reason, that armor resembled you of all people. Sorry for the mixup, pal.”

Oscar, Quest Board (Adventurer's Guild)

A familiar voice reached the exorcist. Oh, was that...? "Ah, you are that self-proclaimed demon hunter, correct? We haven't had an opportunity to talk back at the Hill two weeks back." He greeted Lady, taking his sight off the board. Truly, he was mostly perusing it in an effort to kill time. Or, perhaps, he was looking for a job to occupy himself with. Anything that read "daemon sighted" would be nice.

"To be honest, I just arrived to the hall myself, only had a cursory look at the board so far."
