Pete and Maleficent flat out shouldn't have been in 2, or if they were it should have just been Timeless River. They're pretty worthless otherwise.

Honestly I'm fine with Maleficent in KH 2...

...is what I WOULD be saying if she got a boss fight during Hollow Bastion 2, where the plot's focus transitions away from her and towards the Organisation. It just makes her look like she serves no purpose as it is now.

I wouldn't go that far as to say they should only be in Timeless River, but I do think Timeless River works really well as the climax to all of Pete's appearances, and the fact that he keeps showing up in worlds after it kind of dilutes that.

Maleificent's 'death' in Hollow Bastion Pt. 2 also was pointless. KH 2... had some problems.

Also, I don't think the scope of the KH 3 worlds or having a second visit matters in giving KH 3 a mid-culimiation. The pacing is really off. It needs one. And I never suggested we do second visits (and oh boy would I not want to return to Pirates or Frozen again), but maybe we throw something in at about the mid-point of our first visits? Something between Monsters Inc./Frozen?

I don't see any other way to even slightly correct the off pacing.

It's setup for more Time Travel Maleficent shenanigans. Obviously.

Like the one where she returns after her "death" in 2 after being stabbed by Ansem SOD is now connected to a bunch of ancient keyblade wielders in the present era.

Scala ad Caelum symbolism: In the Bible, the stairway to Heaven is Jacob's Ladder (stairway to Heaven is actually a more description of what Jacob's seeing, as it's a vision of angels ascending and descending the stairway to the Heavenly Temple). Jacob's reaction? "This is none other than the House of God and the Door to Heaven," or in Latin (as mentioned on the BBS Fridge Page) "Non est hic aliud nisi domus Dei et porta Caeli." So what do we find in Scala ad Caelum? The True Kingdom Hearts, which could certainly be described as a "Door to Heaven."

Makes sense that it'd be there, too. Xehanort said this place is where all worlds are born.

Every world has a Heart. And all Hearts are born in Kingdom Hearts. So if this is where worlds are born, it would need Kingdom Hearts to give birth to each world's Heart.

Scala Ad Caelum is named such that it makes it super suspicious.

Especially because under its pretty view the shadow of Daybreak Town exists.

It got lost in Sora's couch cushions.

Well, characters have shown they can have more than one Keyblade at a time, as when Sora summons and dismisses the Master Keeper. So maybe Sora has the X-Blade still.

Random thought: I know Nomura's said Sora will still be the protagonist of future KH installments, but it'd be cool as hell if some spinoff featured another character with Sora as the Hero of Another Story, and had him as the optional controller-breakingly hard Bonus Boss. Having Sora as a boss using all the fancy stuff you've been able to use by endgame as the player would be awesome.

I'm fine with it only if he gets an epic remix of Dearly Beloved, Simple and Clean, Sanctuary, and Face My Fears mixed together.

After seeing his side-plot in KH 2, for spin-offs I'd actually be interested in seeing KH-Cloud trekking through a few Disney worlds.

I had the same thought^note And in all honesty, KH III feels like the type of story that should've ended with Sora more or less moving out of the spotlight by the end while the whole game gave us hints of someone new (or one of the other established characters) taking on his role as protagonist., especially in regards to seeing Sora become a bonus boss for some newer/alternate protagonist of a different game going forward.

I mean, if Riku remains playable, then Sora as a boss can still probably happen... And we have had some fights with "facets" of Sora throughout the series (like Vanitas and Sora's Heartless), so the idea isn't that far-fetched.

To be honest, my reaction to Sora's skillset with the Ultima Keyblade in III was "Now I'm the Final Boss!"... Especially with all those videos of Sora easily trouncing the Dark Inferno/Final Xehanort cropping up. Heck, Ultima even has a sparkling sheen like the freakin' x-Blade, and a red/white color-scheme as opposed to the Blade's green one.

Heck, Sora could still be a Bonus Boss even if the player character is Sora. This series is crazy with replicas and split off incarnations and digital copies and such.

Technically, Sora was the final boss of DDD where Riku fights Sora encased in Ventus's armor that was infected with darkness.

Talking about replica characters I start to comes with the Possibility of the Riku we all know and love being a replica himself of Yozora the original deal .

That will explain why we have no mention of Riku's parents on KH 1,also,the serie's work that way,KH 1 secret ending show a Sora copy with Dual keyblades,them KH 2 secret ending comes and we have a boy that looks like the Sora's copy (Ventus),so we have Four Soras = Roxas,Ventus,Xion and the original and Three Rikus, one more will be nothing new .
