I remember it might've been the writers of Civil War who said his decision to prioritize saving Bucky over the greater good was his way of being selfish, and therefore leaving him to rot while he galavants with Peggy would be extremely OOC. Anyway (and I'd have to wait for official translations) according to that Chinese interview apparently he did do things like rescue Bucky in the alternate timeline which would alleviate that if true. It doesn't deal with all of the issues created by that scene, but it at least means Steve doesn't look like a monster.

I’d imagine that he would mainly take care of HYDRA infiltrating SHIELD so Zola was probably taken care of. And what you said that it’s confirmed he did save Bucky too.
And after that, I will not blame the good man for letting it go. Even with the haunting effects of knowing a terrible future.
I’m an idiot, so to speak. I just assumed this meant two Steve’s were running around at the same time in the time stream so while he got to be selfish and grow old with Peggy, young frozen Steve was having all his adventures and blowing up that airport.
I hate to say it but you don’t want to change TOO much. Butterfly effect and all that.

Bigger changes are more interesting though. I mean just the 2012 change messes up The Winter Soldier, The Dark world, Ragnarok and possibly Ironman 3.
I dunno how much Thor is affected by 2012, since Steve just puts everything right back where it was two seconds later.
My various fanfics.Steve just brings the stones back. Loki is still on the lose with the tesseract. Which also means that Thor can't go back home before the rainbow bridge is finally repaired (and that is assuming that they didn't need the tesseract to do so). So he can spend some quality time with Jane - on the flip side, the chaos in the realm due to the lack of asgardian oversight might be even bigger if Thor starts cleaning up later. Now, because of all this Jane might not even stumble onto the aether and if she does and Thor brings her to Asgard again, there is no Loki in prison who would tell the Kursed the right way out of the prison (hence Freya might survive), and there is nobody who would help Thor to smuggle Jane out of Asgard either. And since Loki never replaced Odin either, Ragnarök might not even happen in this reality.
Could he tell the previous time traveling 2012 team: “Hi, I’m Cap from the future where you won. Don’t bother going for the Tesseract here, you’ll just cause more problems. Just grab the Mind and Time Stone, then jump to 70s SHIELD to get the Space Stone. I’ll be replacing the Stones right after you grab them to close the loops.”

It’s been confirmed that Cap went to an alternate universe to live his new life & that presumably means he also did something about the Bucky & Hydra situation.
So stop complaining that he’s letting it all happen there.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."maybe there's no hydra in that universe but something else, something that becomes a new threat later on
New theme music also a boxThat's not my complain. My complain is that in this reality there will eventually a Steve waking up only to discover that another Steve has stolen his girl and his live. That's kind of cruel.
But then, she they ever want to bring Cap back into the MCU, they can just take THIS Cap and let him come to this reality because he feels uncomfortable living in a world in which another version of him is seen is the real captain America, and since he doesn't want to do to another cap what was done to him, he decides to pick the one reality in which he knows there won't be another him.
Steve: "I don't know if you noticed, but I can't exactly throw a shield anymore. The world still needs Captain America."
Capcicle: "Yeah, you're right."
My various fanfics. That sounds less like someone who cares for Peggy and more like entitlement, which Steve must feel for the guy Peggy married in his reality!
And thats just not true. He has to move on or, eventually repeat the cycle of going to another reality where that realities Steve will never be with Peggy and be with her, or let the man she did marry do it instead.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Peggy still has two hands
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt's not like alt!Steve would be able to be with Peggy if our Steve didn't come back. He would be frozen and unrescuable for decades, just like Cap Prime was.
Also Old Steve aged gracefully for a 100+ man.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Super Soldier Serum, son!
My various fanfics. It's a memeaphor for polyamory.
My various fanfics.lol for a gross joke
Now I get it.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Regular Cap comes out of the ice.
Old Cap: Well...what are we going to do now?
Peggy: ...

Also a reference to that What If story that ended with both Spiders-Men marrying MJ to resolve the clone saga
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOld!Peggy:Im too old for this shit.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Old Steve marries Peggy, young Steve marries Sharon. *Barf*
This is also true.
I mean, it’s a noir show, the atmosphere is real and gritty, etc, so the finale will likely be very low key.
At the same time, the one last shot of Iron Fist (or Iron Guns now), Luke, Daredevil, and Jessica facing off against Thanos’s army while this plays...
It would be cool.
In retrospect I’m also really glad Blade never did show up. He’s still freed up.
