I'd like to recommend the Japanese web novel turned light novel/manga Sono mono. Nochi ni... (A.K.A. That Person. Later on...) for a wiki page.
It's a story about an ordinary townsman by the name of Wazu who after an unfortunate course of events runs away from home & lives in seclusion in the "mountain" for two years until he decides to come down in order to meet people.
Genre: Harem, fantasy, comedy, adventure, drama, action, romance
