In case anybody is wondering why we haven't had a comic today, updates will be a bit hectic due to an emergency with Mary's kittens. They seem to be fine, but this threw a wrench into the schedule nonetheless.

Ah, yes, the lengths to which a teenager will go to avoid the old familial "I told you so".

Ok the pressure to register is real. Makes me wonder if Rue is almost all alone in not registering.

Also this and the previous page says that CDD had nothing on Rue, meaning she never registered in the first place. Didn't she say she used to go to Future's Hope though?

I'd rather go to the Space Jam Arcade.

Because of the Looney Tunes?

Zoe is a sweetie.

Still think this is going to end with them becoming partners.

I wonder if that's a part of Goops' plan.

Not sure how, since it only creates a link between Tessa and Undine that wasn't there before (assuming Rue patches things up with Tessa).

Goop works in mysterious ways?

I imagine that mostly because there's no reason, in-universe, as far as we're aware, for Goops to not have taken advantage of Zoey carrying Rue in order to get rid of both, since it seemed she was trying to kill Rue before. But I'm just spitballing. There might be more limits to what Goops can do than what we know.

When Undine and HP saved Claire's family, they didn't run into anything after the fight was done. The same could apply here.

True. But I like theorizing.

One could imagine that Goops isn't just trying to get the girls killed, but is also trying to get something out of them. Something that apparently requires threatening their lives on a regular basis.

[up] Companions, maybe? If conversion is possible, in a dark echo/mirror of how magical girls are awakened in the first place, then maybe she wants them isolated, broken, and feeling as though she's their only option for any measure of acceptance and understanding. Hence the specific phrasing of "I'll be here whenever you're ready."

It seems unlikely to me that she was planning on Zoe showing up.

Though now I wonder if we'll see in flashbacks that she was working on Team Alchemical before the Fear of Heights monster, sowing discord and resentment.

I guess it's possible thta you ca neither go to the magica lgirl school without being registered or that Rue requested to have her records deleted when she left.

I've assumed Rue never attended Future's Promise (is that the name?) in the first place. There are no records of her simply because she never registered in the first place.

Yeah, she's off the grid, and she would be at least known if she went to the school. Remember that both registering and going to the school are optional, but you need to be registered to attend.

I'm seriously wondering what that "only kind of" from Zoe means.

Is it just a reference to her being a magical girl for a while before heading out? Or is it something else, like she tried to go out once before and had a horrible experience.

[up] I first thought only that she had been a magical girl for a while before daring to head out.

I think it's in reference to having the dream and going to school, but only now acting as a Magical Girl.
