I admit I wasn't a big fan of Rise.

For me, it's all about the "original" where Lara has a lot of personalities to bounce off of.

Not so much in the sequels.

Still, Rise definitely had a lot of ambition and was a less than overdone sort of climate. Having Lara deal with Russian gulags, folklore, and other material is very different from the usual jungle treks.

Yeah, I think I liked the writing the most in the original (of the reboot trilogy, that is), and the gameplay most in Rise. Shadow, meanwhile, managed to go backwards on both of those, except for the tomb design... which is fine and all, but it didn't make up for the rest of the game getting stripped down to nothing.

It's been fun.

Just putting this out there because I'm still annoyed by this. In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Alone, Jonah has been captured/needed to be rescued a total of SIX TIMES!!! Captured Once by the people of Paititi, Twice by Trinity and Once by Lara's Doppleganger, and needed to be rescued after the plane crash and later when Trinity almost captured him again at the Oil Refinery.

In Tomb Raider: A Survivor is Born Sam was only captured twice and one of them was Jonah's fault because against Lara's advice he not only trusts Whitman but also gives him guard duty.

Jonah is literally just here to get captured and make the situation worse! And it actually gets worse when you take the comics into account because then Jonah gets captured/needs to be rescued Six More Times bringing the total count to 14 times in the entire series. Sam only gets captured 4 times in the comics bringing her total count to 5 and she is able to saved herself and Lara three times and was actually helpful a number of times, she got Lara, herself, Jonah and Kaz to Mexico without any real issue to save Grimm's brother, saved Lara from a Shark, a Cult Leader and protected her from Himiko by forcing her to look into the Wei Mirror and has actually grown as a character.

Jonah is still the same person he was at the start of the series and his most notable contributions to the series has been making the situation worse in Every Game! I know I've said all this before but Jonah is actually Worse Then Useless and looks to be trying to break Princess's Peach record for most captured Damsel in Distress! ARGH!!!

Also he's choice in cloths in every game is terrible.

So after this game... is Lara finally the Tomb Raider?

Where does the franchise go from here?

Well they can't do "Lara begins" again, at least.
