Probably has a thousand comics by now, seeing as how his work stretches all the way back to when Gravity Falls was showing new episodes.
I do think there is bit of difference for doing it work and doing it for fun though, former is always soul sucking 
Still though, there are many talented artists, though I think main thing here is that Disney isn't really doing comics for their cartoon shows right now are they?
Not really. They have published gf, svtfoe, dt2017 and tts comics in the past, but obviously are not making any new issues for them. there IS the toh light novel coming out though.

I dunno, I try not to care about things that aren't anime anymore (Anime usually get completed.). Most people running TV Networks and Streaming services are Crazy and/or Idiots.

Which is effectively canceled because a single suit decided it didn't fit Disney's brand.
They'll still get to complete the show, even if it's 1/3 of the airtime they wanted.

None of those air on Disney Channel. Disney has a brand that it protects by selling anything that doesn't fit under different labels. It's been their mo since forever.

I don't think its about emulating a particular style as much as he's a highly visable artist with a good body of work
