Doma is seriously such a creepy bastard. I mean, okay the whole "Wait, I remember I killed your mother, person who coincidentally just arrived before me" is a tad contrived, but...
I think it because the series appeal to the idea of karma, you reap what you sow. Muzan said that he had live for thousand of years and he had never seen any god dare to punish him so he don't believe in karma. Making this generation have a connection with the demon mean them unknowingly cause their own downfall because of their action.

PS: Tanjirou… When you see someone in a pool of blood after jumping from the second floor window, I don't think asking him "Are you alright?" is very useful. >.>

Secondly, the thing about Doma is that we have already seen his flashback. So, when he finally dies, we can get a new flashback or not. So yeah, I don't think the established rule of "if there's a flashback, the demon is dead" will be a given here.

Chapter 163: so we did get an extra bit of flashback and a very unambiguous "o shit, I'm really gonna die now" from Doma. Good riddance, and quite a Karmic Death at that. Too bad that we had to lose a Pillar and have a disciple partially crippled, though.

Untrustworthy
Honestly, only losing a single pillar in exchange for taking out the third strongest demon is a fantastic deal. We now have six healthy pillars left to deal with a single Upper Moon and an injured Muzan, which really is the best deal anyone could ask for.

I don't think Muzan is that strong since he mostly use his minion. It probably couple of century since the last time he actually fight a Demon Slayer.

It's impossible to kill Muzan by any means save the sun, and they had to weaken him a lot to even stand a chance.
Muzan also slaughtered the lower moons and made it clear he could do the same to the Uppers with just as much effort together. He might be a coward, but he's powerful.

The only reason he could slaughter them is that he created them and have control over their body. Yes, he can't be kill by decapitating but beside that, he doesn't seem to have any unique power.
