If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? Also, isn't Nimona not already in production? They are cutting the time short there...
Most I heard was it being in preproduction and early animation tests, as of last year.

Apparently, Disney could snatch up Comcast's 30% stake in Hulu.
I believe it when I see it.
Speaking of believing when they see it, has anyone seen Breakthrough and can either confirm or deny the credits had a "Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures" at the end?
Ohhhhh, yeah that is unfortunate.
Mileena MadnessThat had more to do with the fact that post-production hasn't finished yet.
Doesn't mean that they won't release it later.
Yeah, I can't imagine them shelving a movie that's already near-completion.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I had literally never heard of that movie until now. I'm actually checking, and it doesn't even have a trailer! I think that's more the reason than to interfere with Aladdin. It was a movie that was doa. Maybe they'll actually market it?
I have one question.
Does Disney actually owns the rights to Avatar? Or they only have the distribution rights to it? Just fact checking a bit.
I think Fox only had distribution rights.
Though something funny I found out is that Cameron tried to go to Disney to get the film produced before Fox exercised the right of first refusal.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I guess Cameron has enough cloud to retain a lot of rights to Avatar franchise after he was forced to give up so many to finish Titanic.
Ha! That makes the Pandora place at Animal Kingdom and the Fox buyout even more hilariously ironic.
EDIT: Fixed it. Thanks!

I think he means “eventual” as in “it hadn’t yet happened at the time”.

Peace is the only battle worth waging.Oh, I see. Just got a bit confused.
Btw, the sports rights according to one site Disney sold off to Sinclair.
Mileena MadnessAd Astra is back on the calendar, as well as many others:
The Studios’ 2019 slate rounds out with Fox’s The Woman in the Window on Oct. 4 and Ford V. Ferrari on Nov. 15, Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil on Oct. 18 and Disney Animation’s Frozen 2 on Nov. 22, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on Dec. 20, and Blue Sky Studios’ Spies in Disguise, moving from September to Christmas. Among early 2020 titles are Fox’s Underwater on Jan. 10, a new Kingsman movie on Feb. 14, and Call of the Wild on Feb. 21, followed by Pixar’s Onward on March 6 and Disney’s Mulan on March 27.
The updated calendar also sets release dates for major franchises Avatar and Star Wars. With Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker bringing the original Skywalker Saga to its conclusion, three new as-yet-untitled Star Wars films will release on the pre-Christmas weekend every other year beginning in 2022. Four forthcoming Avatar films, expanding the vibrant world of Pandora, will release on the pre-Christmas weekend every other year beginning in 2021. In the holiday corridor for 2020, Fox’s West Side Story adaptation, directed by Steven Spielberg, will debut Dec. 18 in the pre-Christmas slot, with Disney’s Cruella opening Wednesday, Dec. 23, for the long holiday weekend.
“We’re excited to put in place a robust and diverse slate that lays the foundation of our long-term strategy, bringing together a breadth of films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Fox, Fox Searchlight, and Blue Sky Studios to create an extraordinary collection of cinematic experiences for audiences around the world,” said Cathleen Taff, President, Theatrical Distribution, Franchise Management, and Business & Audience Insights, The Walt Disney Studios. “With a strong summer already in place, we are eager to carry that momentum forward over the coming years thanks to a creative wellspring of bold and imaginative stories coming from our world-class studios – including several new chapters of two revered franchises, Avatar and Star Wars.”
Told you so....
I wonder how many movies Disney will greenlight over Fox in the upcoming years. the schedule is becoming really tight.
So just like with the first Avatar, we will have waited 12 years for James Cameron's next film. It's like Cameron really wanted Avatar 2 to seem like a special release by delaying it too many times to count.
I don't think James Cameron realizes that the general public has, by and large, not cared about the Avatar "franchise" for a while now.

Honestly, I can't argue with any of those decisions so far. (And no, I don't think that having people smoke in a West Side Story remake is a musst...btw...will the remake be set today or in the past?).
