But boy was it worth the wait. Reg did the one thing he could do, and the one thing he shouldn't have done. Faputa is coming home, and she ain't in a good mood. She apparently makes enough of a mess to wake up Nanachi.
I love how the Illburians seem completely extatic that their princess has come to eradicate them.
The Abyss is really not good for your sanity, if we didn't already know that.
"I am going to kill every one of you!"
"'S valuable, I wanna!" *screeches in abomination*
Volume 8 is out in France, meaning we're caught up with Japan now (prepublication aside).
On one hand, it was nice to be reminded of all the details I had forgotten. On the other hand, I wish I hadn't been reminded of some of the details I had forgotten.
So we're in for a Made in Abyss video game directed by Kojima?
More like a Kojima video essay with ideas lifted from references to MIA.
Eh, I'll take it.
By the way, volume 8 also has an extra chapter telling the meeting between Faputa and her big robot buddy. Apparently it's the robot who gave her her name − which roughly means "Princess of Eternity".
Kojima's so Hooked, he even bought every Manga volume.
"Rumble of Scientific Triumph intensifies."
Watch Symphogear54 is out. Has been out for more than a month actually. >.>
For those who hoped the new Meethi would be able to come along… welcome to this manga? I guess Belaf had a redemption of sorts. Faputa, on the other hand, has become fucking terrifying.
55 is out! Our first glimpse at pre-amnesia Reg. He’s apparently the one who taught Faputa to speak Orth’s language… he seemed a little more mature too, though more or less the same Reg we know outside of that. Also Faputa was really smitten with him.
Alas, I doubt Faputa will come along for the rest of the adventure, even if they promised it to each other.
Can’t find the anime thread so here it goes
Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul is available for virtual screening through eventive. Until early November, you can buy it for $20 and view it under a restricted time period
Just watched it. I was overwhelmed
Oooh, I'm gonna have to watch it. One way or another.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Oh right, it came out on Wakanim too. That’ll be my theater outing for tonight.
I've watched it and the movie continues to stake Made in Abyss claim to #1 in torturing kids lol. Does anyone know the song that played when Reg was fighting Bonded?
Cowboys vs SamuraiThe thing I have to... not respect about Bondrewd, never respect, but all those other mad scientist villains who do For Science! do one experiment and call it a breakthrough. Bondrewd has reproducibility on his side... damn the bastard.
It's been fun.Whew, that was intense…
The action was a lot easier to follow than in the manga, I must say. And the horror is as perfectly repulsive as can be.
I’m a bit surprised they kept the dick jokes, though especially "Papa’s rod". >.> I think Prushka was more busty than in the manga too?
Anyway, it was a blast. I just wish they had extended the epilogue a little like they did with episode 13; it’s fine as the ending for an arc, but as the ending for a movie it left me a little hungry. But I guess there was too little time for that.
Ah, Bondrewd, the villain who makes us almost forget we’re supposed to hate him.

I haven't read the manga yet so I can't comment on how it is as an adaptation.
But I was blown away. I'm struggling to put my thoughts into words and I'm still in this post high where I can't think of anything to criticize with Dawn of the Deep Soul.
Like I need to break this down on why I was so impressed.
I'm gonna link the official showing page where you can buy a streaming pass to view the movie subbed and dubbed.
https://www.madeinabyssmovies.com/showings.html
It needs to be seen
Here’s the anime thread, by the way.
Had to use ctrl+f since the search function is useless. =[
I just decided to read this whole thing. Hoo wee, that was a ride. Looks like the update schedule is completely screwed, so I'm back at waiting an indeterminate amount of time to see what happens next. Except my new stopping point is significantly more dramatic.
Its one of most messed up yet facinating manga, I've ever read, up there with Berserk in terms of brutality but thoughtfulness.
Watch SymphogearChapter 56 is out!
Nanachi is back with a brand new helmet, and Belaf atones in his own way by giving Faputa a taste of his own happy memories with Illmyui and Vueko. Since his way of sharing memories is apparently extremely intense, that’s enough to stop Faputa… kinda. Then the big Oh, Crap! comes when it turns out tearing a big hole into the village’s barrier let the way open for the kind of creatures you can’t exactly reason with. Woops.
I guess that’s gonna Faputa’s dilemma. Let the big guy finish what she started or protect what’s left of the village.
So, chapter 57. That might have been the most graphic gore in this series so far, which is saying something. I'm not prone to getting queasy, but Jesus Christ.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.So it turns out Faputa was not the most dangerous thing in the Sixth Layer. Although that may have just changed. Still didn’t expect her to take just a brutal beating.
It doesn’t help that she’s the "easy to injure but insanely hard to kill" type. :x
Still no news about the next chapter?
