I gotta say, I kinda wish this game was less grindy. Like, I feel like you take out the grinding and the game's maybe an hour long? Seriously. The 8 character should share XP with the lead. There's no reason to have them calculate their xp individually other than stretch the game.
No way the game would be that short with EXP sharing.
I have a message from another time...I will be interested to see what it works out to be without the grinding.
I'm currently playing about a chapter a day, which is taking me about 60-80 minutes including travel between towns and trying out the Path Actions.
So I haven't had to grind myself yet, but I've heard people have needed to between chapters.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobYou do need to grind somewhat, but if you keep a somewhat consistent team you can build 'em up without it getting too monotonous.
And it's kind of true that the main story chapters are fairly bite sized (not one hour, though). In a four-hour session I can knock out two of 'em if I'm rushing. That's by design though, because any longer and the game would just be a slog. It helps for portable sessions too.
In gameplay news I scrutinized a guy in the shopping area of Stonegard and hidden item'd my way to that sick hot Bastard Sword I didn't have the money to buy in Victor's Hollow. So that's awesome. The chapter 2 tournament arc in Olberic's tale was pretty challenging. It's basically two mini-boss encounters AND a big boss, all with minions. Oof.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI’m halfway through the chapter 2s and haven’t needed to grind at all. I’m a bit over leveled for some areas if anything. For reference, I’ve been rotating party members and they’re all around 25-26 with Cyrus being 33.
Because H'aanit, Ophilia and Olberic have been mainstays of my team, the other 5 tend to get neglected a bit unless I'm doing their stories (Prim, Tressa, Therion and Alfyn specifically).
It's a habit I'll have to consider changing lest I end up with a bunch of perpetually underleveled characters. I'm getting Prim up to code and then I'm keeping Alfyn on board for his chapter 2 and a bit beyond.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectMy initial plan was to first do the 4 stories of my Main team and then do the remaining stories with my B-Team. I then got impatient and just rotated one character into my main team.
This has bitten me in the ass though because (Minor End-game spoiler) you have to fight the True Final Boss with both your teams
Now I have to grind up 30 levels, may the caits be with me...
I've missed multiple caits. Doesn't help that I actually didn't realize that the cat enemies were caits and that they were important at all. And when I did hear about caits I thought they were referring to something else.
That said, caits = cats should have been obvious to me because it's not like Square isn't familiar with Caits. Ah-doy!
So yeah, gonna try and mix up my parties a little to give everyone some time.

"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaYour mistake lives forever you silly cat.
Anyway, My Alfyn x Warrior build is like a good 10 levels off the pace of my main group and he still has more health than any of them. LOL.
Also, Olberic x Hunter with Second Serving and nearly every physical weapon type is something to behold.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectYeah, Hale and Hearty from Alchemist is a great skill. Really helps make up for some character/job combinations, like Cyrus-Dancer, who has like 1200 HP at level 28.
It's been fun. It's all about Therion X Merchant.
Collect X2 + A free attack? Sign me up.
Any suggestions for decent monsters for Haanit to early-mid game?
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Hm, the salamanders seem like a good option. Spear attack that also inflicts blindness.
It's been fun.Yeah, also at that point there should be multi-attacks and all attacks (and sometimes both).
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.In H'aanit's chapter 2 forest and between Victorshollow and Tressa's Chapter 3 cave are plant monsters that heal the whole party for 1k + 1k for every boost, I used them to turn H'aanit into my off-healer.
So on the party Banter when you do chapter. Are the interactions limited? IE: When I did the part of Therion's quest where he bribes two guys in a bar, I got an interaction with Primrose. Is there a way to get to see any interactions with people who weren't currently in the party?

switch them into the party, basically. Or rerun the chapter with them in it.
They generally happen between cutscenes.
I actually checked, and you can't replay chapters. At least, not immediately after finishing them. Maybe once you've finished a character's whole story?
It's been fun.Does Ophilia have a clause somewhere that states that she must fight unusually difficult bosses? Because goddamn, that third boss broke my spirit (in game and in real life). I was down two party members when I won it with a Hail Mary Brand's Thunder from Olberic.
The second boss also pushed my shit in several times (but then again I didn't have Cyrus for the first few times and he makes that much simpler). None of the other bosses so far have been so troublesome.

Many of them are very close to where you come into the path, like the Warrior shrine which I think is actually visible on the screen when you load into the path leading to H'aanit's second town. I suggest tracking them down as soon as possible, because it'll make your team amazingly more adaptable. Unlike other games with jobs, like Bravely Default, equipping a sub-job gives you access to both your main job and sub-job's weapons, skills, etc.
