Ambiguity makes people who dismiss any attempt at analysis more annoying, not less. Like, that's why authors makes things ambiguous; they want to make people to talk and speculate and analyze.
So I saw the first four or so episodes of this at a con a while back and got pretty turned off by the whole “Sexsexsex s-e-x get it guys? SEX!” thing (biromantic ace here), which was disappointing because I otherwise really liked the idea of co-piloting as a metaphor for relationships. Also friends who are super into Trigger keep freaking out every weekend, so i thought I’d check it out, but eh.
Anyways, said friends have told me that the show has backed off on the “tee-hee they’re fucking lol” a bit, and that it might be something I would like more if I marathon it once it’s done, so I’ve started thinking about giving it a second chance after all. They’re also aware that I didn’t bother with Kill la Kill until Toonami aired it and thought it was only alright; liked Kiznaiver other than thinking it was too short and rushed at the end; and that while I enjoyed TTGL, I think the circlejerk surrounding it is one of the most annoying I’ve ever seen.
ANYWAYS (again), I dropped in and skimmed the last few pages since said friends are freaking out again and I figured since it’s past the halfway point maybe some wham event happened that would catch my interest. Instead I found that a seiyuu has ADEM (thoughts go out to him), and the above conversation which has revealed things that are tanking my interest in giving the show a second chance. Especially Shinzo Abe’s approval.
So now I’m on the fence again. I think I’ll just let myself get spoiled and then decide if it’s still worth watching or not.

Yeah, there's no actual indication that Abe likes the show, that was just a meme edit.
If the Council sees gender as bad then why did they hire Dr. Franxx who at this point is pretty clear to be a horny pervert to design their robots
was he literally the only person qualified to make them

Okay that helps a little.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Who the fuck is Abe?

Ah.
Sounds like a weird guy.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The guy became kind of a meme for trying to curb the declining birthrates in the country.
Wait you mean he's trying to keep the birthrates low?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Sorry, that came out wrong, I mean he's trying to make people have more children.
By inserting subliminal messaging into anime in order to encourage procreation. Obviously.
Meanwhile, I'm just here for Hir 02. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You know, that comparation is kinda Harsher in Hindsight.
I remember that at the beggining of the series. I saw a lot of people expected the series to be a satire against sexual essentionalism and that APE were evil because they were forcing it
But it turns out to be the exact opossite. APE are the evil anti sex asexual robotic overlords opressing our poor cisgender teenagers and treating them as expendable in order to further their plans for a genderless society.

Watch me destroying my countryWell that's certainly one way to get people to fuck.
Ya gotta show how good relationships are to otaku & what better way is there than motherfucking anime?
It prolly help though to not make husbands the family workhorse though.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yea, he's kind of the mascot for this show since it has such an overt focus on trying to pair boys and girls together to make children, so the meme is that Abe personally funds the show to get otaku to actually go out and have children.
Its shit like that that makes me tune in every week lol

Oh boy, I really want more memes of it.

Watch me destroying my countryOkay, now I am gonna have to pushing back against you again, Kazuya. There is a coherent argument to made the narrative is promoting gender essentialism. But that's not the same thing as heteronormativity, which is, meanwhile, decidedly not what's being promoted.
Ikuno is basically the idea of the tragic lesbian that will stay lonely and while Mitsuru might be bisexual (the fact that we are arguing that should tell you something) he still ended in a heterosexual relationship.
Albeit, I will be more fair and leave the benefit of doubt on this, So I will edit my original commentary anyway.

Watch me destroying my countryAll is for the sake of saving Japan's birthrate, the homosexuals had to be culled. No hard feelings mate.
To think, all this started cuz Kokoro and Mitsuru were looking at each other in the old OP and they started seeing each other in the garden house. And then it just fucking spun out of control.
The memes have been the best part about this show, ngl.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.To be honest, I think the two tend to be friendly bedfellows.
Why is it that tragic lesbians can never find other tragic lesbians?
Honestly, if that's part of the metaphor, it kind of falls apart when you realize that the internet is a thing.

Oh God! Natural light!
I notice you keep zeroing in on that, I'm literally talking about the show as a whole :V
