Oh, I'd considered them dumb nitpicking for cheap laughs for a while, but Sean's videos just showed me how little I knew.

So Lauren Southern deleted her video on The Great Replacement (though Shaun has an unlisted mirror and others have re uploaded it too). Reposting Shaun's response video in case people haven't seen it yet:

The reason? It was the title of the New Zealand's shooter manifesto. And, of course

This worldview is largely identical to what we see on the feeds of verified accounts like Molyneux and PJW - mass immigration, migrant crime, birth rates, collapse of the west. PJW released a video yesterday which frankly isn't really that different from the manifesto.

Fucking. Monsters. Blood is on these ghouls hand. I hope they lose their platform. And burn in hell.

I can see the video on youtube though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTDmsmN43NA. Does it mean that Lauren considers cheerleading mass shooters to be alright after all?

[up] Apparently she did! Probably in a desperate attempt to avoid the Streisand Effect. Great job sticking to your belief Lauren! Hold on tight to that conviction all the way to hell!

That some people think the Jews − a mostly white group that represents less than 1% of the world population − are orchestrating the great replacement of the "white race" would be almost funny if it didn't lead to… yeah.

Shaun made a new video responding to Prager U's video on the British Empire.

Yeah, where Prager U gets an actual Confederate sympathiser to argue that a bloke who ordered soldiers fire on unarmed civilians was a hero, and that the English gave Ireland a language.

I'm kinda confused as to what Prager U is even trying to accomplish with that video? I'm under the impression that they're aimed at an American audience, who'd be expected to be familiar with why the US exists in the first place. Shit, most of the revolutionary war stuff is more popular with the right than the left, even

The sad thing about the British Empire video is that there are Brits who actually believe this BS.

Liberty loving empire is a bit of an oxymoron.

Maybe the point of the video is simply to push the "only white people know how to govern" narrative.

Well, I live in France, and there are still people here who try their hardest to believe that the French empire was a noble and benevolent endeavor… Nostalgia of the past glory and all that stuff…

There was even a short-lived law in the noughties that mandated high school teachers to tell their students about the "positive effects of colonization". Thankfully a number of teachers and parents told the government where to stick it, but it's still scary to think about.

I don't really have anything against teaching the positive effects of colonization, as long as for every line about said positive effects there is a graphic description of tortures the colonizers and slave owners used on the people they subjugated. It would allow the students to form their opinions regarding colonialism based on unbiased and comprehensive data.

But, since it's children we're talking about, the "colonization was bad" will have to suffice.

Being German this is pretty difficult to imagine for me. I wonder how the people in the Netherlands see it....or in Spain.

[up] The only positive thing I ever heard in relation with German colonialism was that the post-WW 1 government had the common decency to keep paying the pensions of their former subjects (Askaris, native post office workers etc).

But that's about it.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.

[up] Well, that, and our government apparently still feels kind of responsible for the countries in question and therefore does it best to create as positive relations as possible. But that is more a "we f... up so we have to do whatever possible to make it right" matter.

Ugh. Not a fan of the idea. My grandfather is, of course, in his traditional grandpa-ness. He'd occasionally say stuff like "We brought civilization to Indonesia". Just... I'm sorry, okay? I apologize for my racist grandfather. Please understand that nobody wants to voluntarily go through the kind of introspection that requires them to accept they've been part of an atrocity, and I don't have the heart to push him on it in his final years.

Colonialism is a bad thing, and has always been. There were no true positive consequences for the natives living in said colonies or that got chased out.

Well, okay, except stuff like stopping women burning in India, but there's good reason why people always bring that particular example up: there are no others!

I'm also somewhat annoyed that our education system is rather lax as to what exactly the atrocities were. "Eighty Years War, Bank of Amsterdam, great financial innovations, VOC, voyages of discovery, some minor genoci LOOK FRENCH REVOLUTION!"

Never even heard about Papua New Guinea until a few years ago.

[up]Honestly, I am not worrying about grandparents (unless they have a vote in a history changing referendum). I get this. We all have our racist grandparents. I am worrying when I stand in a museum which tells me about the great trade relationships colonisations fostered.

This month, Shaun… is hijacked?

The intonations need some work.

…Anyway, it's about the, err, "controversy" after Brie Larson's comment on the lack of diversity among critics. It's both scary and fascinating how some douchebags dedicated hours of their time and dozens of videos about shitting on Larson before the movie even came out.

Swanpride Since: Jun, 2013

[up] Yeah, I know, I made my own article about that. I am impressed by the video. Especially since it gets it right and realizes that the "controversy" started when Kevin Feige dared to talk about more diversity in the MCU, and now when Brie Larson made her speech about more diversity in film criticism. They were already gunning for her at this point.

I just found this video and I decide to share it because it's probably the most meaningless reactionary video I've seen. Not the worst by a longshot, just the most meaningless. It's basically saying "People die while doing dangerous stuff... therefore conservatism." Literally nothing of value is said. You cannot even make a funny response to it, because there is nothing to respond to.

Not really Shaun-related, but I kind of needed a place to share my bewilderment.

What the hell are you making me watch?????

Okay, I have listened to the first five minutes or so (hopefully not long enough to count as a click)…first of all, suuuuuure it is millennials who climb an die on the Mount Everest, not rich people who can afford the not exactly cheap fee….second, I guess I know where this is going…"if you alone in the wilderness, you are helpless, so quit whining and accept society like it is"....

You know, that would actually be a pretty good argument for society with a functioning social system vs the absolute individualism conservatives like to use as an excuse to act like a-holes….
