Compromise: Susanoo as a Super Mode for Hazama/Terumi.
Susanoo could make it on over Terumi since normal Terumi would be a bit redundant since Ragna already fills the "rushdown-heavy" role. Unless they decide to have Terumi merge with Hazama again.
I could see this being a large roster since they're going down the path of MVC 2 of reusing sprite assets from past games.
Well, if Ruby's not just a guest character and it's an actual RWBY crossover, then the first four slots are automatically stolen by the rest of the team.
From there it becomes a question of how many more "slots" it has, since if it's 8 characters, money would be on the two "main" teams eating them all up.
Also, we're going by Volume 1-3 RWBY, judging by Ruby's design... so characters like Cinder may not actually be in the game due to the fact that they weren't directly facing off against the protagonists at that time.
I can see this game having a lot of DLC, even if the slots are limited upon release.

...
I wish Monty himself could have been here to see one of his characters make the big time.
Yeah, I know, kinda a mood killer, but it just kinda came to me now. I apologize if I made anyone sad.
It came to me when someone brought up the Rooster Teeth guys probably been really excited to have someone (and possibly more than one) from their show in such a big game.
One Strip! One Strip! We could see a post time skip alt for Ruby so don't rule out Cinder yet.
Mileena MadnessMonty would be a kid in a candy store at this announcement.
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh. So, I'm living in an age where Team N Inja of Tecmo is working with Square Enix (Not Dead Fantasy though) and RWBY is in a fighting game by Arc System Works. Are you happy in heaven, Monty?
@ Black Yakuzu: Only for Parace L Sia being the Ture Final Boss of Score Attack, standing on top of the corpses of the the other SNK Bosses that have popped up in Arc System Works other published and developed fighting games in her special intro as the ultimate Challenge (Like Nightmare Geese to all the NESTS Bosses and Omega Rugal in King Of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match).
Watch SymphogearMake the true final boss Nyarlathotep just to fuck with everyone.
re: Monty; I remember him making Hatsune Miku a Mugen character, and basing her control scheme off of that of Blazblue, with a drive button and everything. And another vid with him, Mike Ross, and Gooteks, where he talked about a hypothetical RWBY fighting, where the "drive" button for certain characters would be them firing their weapons, and if you timed it right, you'd get just frames and stuff.
I saw the YMMV page for this game mention the possibility of this leading to a full blown RWBY game, ala Mortal Kombat vs D.C. Universe -> Injustice. That'd be amazing honestly, but for now, I'm just stoked for this. RWBY continues being the little web series that could.

Doesn't anyone think that the inclusion of RWBY in this game may increase more attention to popular western I Ps to Japan?
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.Nyarlathotep is never coming back because Persona 1 and 2 writers left Altus.
The though had crossed some minds at least. One of the YMMV items claim that some are optimistic about this playing out like MK vs DC did (leading to Injustice)

Yeah I know...but I meant if this may lead to a Star W Rs Musou or something like that to happen...
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.I have no idea what one has to do with the other. From what I understand, RWBY is already pretty popular over there.
This song needs more love.If what you're asking for is if there's gonna be more western/Japanese crossover games
We've already had Star Wars, God of War, and Spawn characters in Soul Calibur, and Marvel vs. Capcom exists. RWBY's pretty minor in the grand scheme of things compared to those two, so I doubt this will mean much of anything, especially since RWBY's apparently already relatively popular in Japan.

Plus, Kingdom Hearts, Marvel vs Capcom and some Monster Hunter and Puzzle and Dragon promotions.
I'd be up for more Eastern/Western crossovers, Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter anyone, eh?
Or maybe have a Skullgirls character guest star in this game, eh?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."RWBY however is not a grand Hollywood or AAA videogame property. It's basically an indie quasi-anime made by people who at the time were mostly known to mash Halo models(and Caboose) together into funny skits.
This is what's so jawdropping about this.
Right, Rooster Teeth made its name with Red Vs Blue and I don't know if anyone was ecstatic about RWBY when it was coming out.
Imagine, if any of us traveled to 2013 to tell our 2013 selves that RWBY would crossover with the likes of BlazBlue, Persona 4 and UNIB, how likely would it be that our 2017 selves would be laughed out of the room?
@Demon God: It'd be cool for Score Attack or Arcade Mode to have a cutscene where Parace and Susanooh fight it out while the player has to fight the winner merged with the loser's powers ala Capcom Vs SNK 2.
True Final Boss of Score Attack.
