While I wouldn't necessarily mind if only 6 character from Blazblue came back, I still don't see why this game didn't go for the MVC 2 approach unless the UNIEL's moveset is more complicated than I imagine.
Mu 12 relies on her satelitte lasers which stay on the field and can be used for other attacks. I dont see how CTB could dedicate a whole button towards them like nu12 without crushing her combo potential. That and her main distortion drive is almost entirely dependent on her having many satellites out.
Man looking back at this game I feel like ASW has let momentum die off for this. I even doubt people will care about two SK characters by this point.
Mileena MadnessIt flopped everywhere. If they're even still working on DLC for it it won't be much.
I kind if think we have a Telltale problem where they pick so many projects they let others fall to the side.
Mileena MadnessUnlike Telltale, They actually have backing from other companies and try not to put too much of their resources into multiple projects at once.
Red Team and Blue team do many different projects on different budgets, and consistently upgrade their engines with each console gen.
Telltales problem was trying to put all of their resources into all of their licenses at once on an increasingly aging engine.
Watch SymphogearThe game is still being featured at tournaments for the record. And fighting games never sell that well to begin with.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Unless your name happens to be Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Soul Calibur or the recently released Dragon Ball Fighter Z, that is.
Marvel Vs Capcom used to be in that category, until, well, yeah.
Its usually Doujin or small indie fighters that don't do well, or Quote on quote "anime fighters" (I swear, its almost like people who hate on anime fighters seem to forget that most of them took their usage of Chain combos over link combos from Marvel vs Capcom, same with advancing guards and air combo priority, yet that series was loved like crazy).

Watch SymphogearThis one didn't do well by typical Blazblue nor Guilty Gear metrics, though. It sold around 20k in its first week in Japan and than completely fell off and hasn't sold a 100k around the world. Every previous GG and BB title has done much better.
This is still a spinoff and people treated it as such.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. Also Smash Bros.
It's been 3000 years…What does Smash Bros have to do with anything? This game came out almost a year before it.
I think he means the many franchises involved, but at least Smash has reps from a wide span of games. ASW just picked their favorites from BB, Persona, and left UNIB and to a greater extent RWBY behind.
Mileena MadnessFor the umpteenth time, ASW did not choose the reps from the other franchises. The respective companies did.
So if you're mad about that still, blame RT, FB, or Atlus.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I still pin the game's lower than expected sales squarely on the DLC.
People where hype for this game. It was something people wanted to play. But all that momentum crashed and burned when it was announced half the roster was DLC.
I meant to say Smash in relation to the concept that fighting games never sell that well to begin with. I'll say Smash is a definite outlier, though, since there are a ton of franchises in there, including some of the most influential franchises in gaming.
It's been 3000 years…I think smash is the success it is because it's got a level of quality and value for your dollar a lot of fighting games don't. Jump Superstars has anywhere from 20-40 different hugely popular anime and manga IPs under its belt and yet they've never been hugely successful games. Everyone wants their favorite characters in Smash specifically for a reason.
Jump Superstar wasn't successful because it was never localized, despite being considered better then J Stars.
Watch SymphogearThey've localized several games in that series by now. I don't think any of them have breached a million in sales since there's absolutely nothing to write home about in any of them but shallow fan service.
Oh, I see the thread's awake again. I also see we're not really discussing new things.

A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh.Anyone still playing competitively?
Every fighting game worth playing has people playing it competitively. Arc Sys's SNES Sailor Moon game still has a scene.
So yeah.
Speaking of, is it wrong that I kinda wish Arc would make another Sailor Moon game?
What's wrong with wanting a well known fighting game company to develop a series you like?
I think at the most 6 more BB reps which leaves room for at least two or three for the other series.
