Bumping because I recently came up with an interesting interpretation of Himiko’s pregame self that I may incorporate into a oneshot.

Basically, she’s a girl who is so obsessed with JRP Gs, particularly those focusing on magic and fantasy, that she barely acknowledges the real world, and she has no interest in anything but her games. She really wants to have magical powers, but she knows that she has no possible way to obtain them - magic doesn’t exist, after all. So once she fails all of her subjects, her parents take her computer away from her, and, having nothing else to do, she watches TV. Naturally, she ends up watching the Danganronpa reality show and expresses an interest in joining, hoping to do something interesting in her life...

I haven’t really caught up with the V3 fandom just yet, so I have no idea how common this interpretation is, but it was inspired by a combination of the game’s true themes, Himiko’s tendency to use RPG terms in conversation, her insistence that she’s a mage and my personal headcanon that everyone in the V3 lineup were cynical and jaded to some degree, hence why they signed up to be part of the show.

Does this make sense? Is it a good idea for a oneshot?

I think that's a pretty good idea. Very different from my idea for her, but mine is less of a plausible headcanon and more of a plot that I thought was interesting.

Well, there's still a bit I haven't gotten around to revealing just yet, but I can say that her mom has an important position on Team Danganronpa, which give you some idea.

Is it possible to write a crossover with series that has lighter moods and themes then the Dangan Ronpa series proper and, if so, are there any helpful tips to share?

This is quite a late response, but I think crossing DR over with a more lighthearted series would be possible... if you used some sort of non-despair AU. If you intend to leave the killing games and everything intact, though, I’m not sure.

And what if I were to include that?

Alright, reviving this thread so I can get some opinions on something.

As some of you may know, I'd Trade My Life For Yours ended a few months back. However, just yesterday on the fic's second birthday, the author posted a pseudo-sequel, Not Beyond Repair. I say "pseudo-sequel" because while it takes place after I'd Trade My Life For Yours, the author has described it as non-canon. The most accurate description of it would probably be a What If?

The conceit of the fic the fairly common "V3 was all a simulation" plot, but with a twist - the characters went through two separate killing games - one that covered the events of ITMYLFY, and one that covered the events of the canon game. Furthermore, while those who died in both games remember both games, the survivors only remember the game they survived. It's an interesting idea, and I think it's very much worth a read, especially if you're a fan of the first fic.

Speaking of which, one of the reasons I came here was because I wanted to know whether you guys think I should add a link to this fic to the main ITMLFY page, and if so, what should be said about it. Thoughts?

Question: Is danganronpa the VN series with most fanfiction fangames?

I've been thinking about how VN series are much easier to create fangames for due to it essentially being fanfic presented in same format

I'm also curious if anybody knows what fangames to reccomend?
