ITT: We Have All Become Pokémon

Shao rights herself midair and nails a landing on the other side of the arena, then wreathes herself in flames as she charges a rushing attack. Jack gets up and hobbles in pain a bit, then launches five Aura Spheres directly above him as Shao begins her rushing attack.

Jack then twirls around his Bone Rush bone and deflects the Aura Spheres at Shao as she closes in on him. The impact with the bone caused the Aura Spheres to move faster than normal due to the bone's momentum, knocking out Shao just as she reaches Jack in the process.

"Right. Let's try the hospital, then. Where is that?"

It should be back near the Inn, actually.

*Somewhere in the triage, Iris is being tended to by a Cofagrigus nurse. She's a bit resistant, as one would be when a possessed sarcophagus wants to wrap them up in bandages.*

Iris: "Hey, hey! Take it easy, dammit!"

Cofagrigus: "Miss, I know you're still a bit on-edge after how brutally your match ended-"

Iris: "It wasn't brutal, it kicked ass! Look, they're just a few little cuts, nothing that serious, I'm fine! Watch this!"

*Iris stands from the cot she was being treated on and staggers, falling to her knees.*

Iris: "Ngh! Seriously?"

Cofagrigus: "That Stun Spore did a tougher number on you than you'd think, miss. Here, this should help you regain mobility."

*The Cofagrigus nurse takes out a Cheri Berry, which Iris pops in her mouth as soon as she sees it. She swallows it whole, not even bothering to chew, and manages to get back on her feet with some difficulty. As she's stretching her muscles and getting patched up by the nurse, a peculiar Pokemon walks over. A Type: Null. Yalta.*

Yalta: "You, Dewott. You faced off against the fighter known as the Mystic Whirlwind, correct?"

*Iris looks up at the peculiar creature and cocks her eyebrow.*

Iris: "Yeah, why? What's your deal, buddy?"

Yalta: "I recognize him. We met last week. Haven't interacted since, but we share a common goal. Or, rather shared one. I have reason to believe he, among a few other combatants, is a danger to everyone involved in this event."

Cofagrigus: "Sir, I believe this can wait until she's tended to."

Iris: "I'm fine, dammit! Just let us speak!"

*The nurse backs off a little, cautiously watching over Yalta.*

Iris: "So, you were saying? Why's he a danger?"

Yalta: "It's a long story, but before I elaborate, I would like to ask some questions."

*Iris sat back up on her cot, looking Yalta square in their helmeted face.*

Iris: "Go ahead, man. Shoot."

"Aw, shit!" [Letting go of the Pawniarm (but not before giving him another good slam on the ground), I run for the door, ducking through the hole once more as I chase after the two soldiers going after the smelly—friendly one.]

*Voxno-V interrupts Marlon as he heads to the hospital* Might I suggest the triage area within the arena? It is unlikely that any but the most seriously injured will be at the hospital across town.

*Birch bellows* AND IT'S A KNOCKOUT!!! *while Elm chimes* I must say, I haven't seen such effectively unorthodox use of powers in some time. This pirate captain could go far, folks. Pirate Lord Jack Spearow moves onto Round 2!

*the Braviary ref flies up to Elm with news* Also, we have just received that the results of an earlier battle have been officiated — The Pink Death also moves on to Round 2!

*cheers, stage clears, etc., getting ready for the next round*

*Birch announces the next match-up* Our next battler is a Swellow fellow from the island of Another, let's give a warm Hoard welcome to...THE RADICAL DREAMER!!

I suppose we could go back there.

(But the odds of PJ just flying back there are pretty low I'd say...)

*Voxno figures* If we are looking for PJ, our only bet may be to simply stake out their room at the inn.

However, the dojo would be the place to go for almost anyone else. There were minimal injuries among our party.

Mila slows down considerably once she's out of the building. She looks behind her to notice that her back isn't readily visible except for the blood matting across her fur where the attack landed. It occurs to her that to an outside observer she must look like some sort of mirage from a ghost story: a floating head and a disembodied wound walking down the street. She tries to focus on returning more to the physical world, but she finds herself unable to do more at the moment. Her wound continues to sting her.

Ow... ow ow. I need to go to the arena, where Finley and PJ went. Hopefully they had more success. Ow! We let her escape, at least. I hope we did. I'll have to apologize ow! To Eliot later. Shit, it's still bleeding a bit, isn't it? What did I get myself into? Ow... ow.

Those two theories are possibilities as well, Vox, for finding our other friends and possibly PJ too.

(I can't help but shake this feeling I'm beginning to have. I don't know where that either PJ or that crazy bitch is, but I think she finally seduced him...and she isn't keen on letting him go.)

After getting his wounds treated, Jack heads back to Area C and takes a seat.

Jack: *Whew!* Now that was a Worthy Opponent if I ever saw one! She gave me quite a good challenge and kept me on my toes!

Seeing Jack come back in, the first thing I say is, "Shit, I'm next, aren't I?"

The fake Pawniard seemed to be just inches away from the exit, but it seemed they were quite unfamiliar with having this much weight on them and they began to falter and slow down; this gave his pursuers the opening one of them needed to get close and attempt to Rugby-tackle him. And they did so... on the balcony overlooking the stairs.

Thus, the target and one of the soldiers crashed through a wooden barrier and fell about three stories, smashing into the Landlord's front desk. While he was still sitting at it.

"What the... WHAT!? WHAT?! WHAAAAT?!!" the Shelgon spluttered out in disbelief.

Jack: I guess so. Good luck, keep it swell!

What are you doing back here with him? (Liesl asks as Maran flies back into the arena lobby with the struggling Cortez.)

PUMME DOWN! I TOLD YOU TO JUST WEAVE ME! (Cortez screams.)

Bzzz I had to. He was just going to go off by himself and likely get himself killed.

Of course I was! But now that I'm here... (Cortez breaks away from Maran's grasp and runs up to Liesl.) Hey, take this curse offa me so I can have my life back!

Sorry, Cortez. I couldn't take it off of you even if I wanted to. It's beyond my capabilities.

I'M STUCK LIKE THIS FOREVER?!

Not necessarily. (Liesl says.) There are other ways to eliminate a curse. For example, on an island many miles from this one, legend tells of a spring. Should a person bathe in it, it'll eliminate any sort of malady, including curses.

How do we get there?! (Cortez asks, jumping up and down excitedly.)

The easiest way would be by boat if you can't fly. (says Liesl.) It may take you as long as a month to get there that way. You would have to be well-prepared in order to make the journey, and you still have to beware of the Viral Aggression.

Easy for me to do! (Cortez says in an arrogant tone.) Say, Maran, you comin' with? You could be rid of your own curse after all of these years.

He does have a point, Maran. (Liesl points out.) If you visit the spring, you would never have to deal with your involuntary transformations again.

(Maran looks at himself, then in the direction of the arena, and finally back at Cortez and Liesl.)

Bzz...after I just figured out how to use my curse to excellent effect? (he replies.) I dunno, I think I can learn to live with it. Bzz, but you still can't go there by yourself, boss, because-

I know, I know, I've been turned into a rugrat. Don't you think I know that? Anyway, I'd say we should leave as soon as we can, eh?

But I still have to fight in my next match!

Heck with the match, Maran, we oughta get to that spring as soon as we can! C'mon! (Cortez dashes out the door.)

(Maran turns to Liesl, a frown on his face.)

Don't worry, Maran. I will tell the officials that you had to leave. Do be careful out there, you two.

Bzzz Yes, ma'am. (Maran says as he walks up to hug Liesl.) See you hopefully soon, friend! Bzz! Thanks for everything...and would you tell Eliot and his friendzzz I said thanks for everything, too? If it wasn't for them, I'd never have gotten here in the first place.

I promise I will once I see them. Have a safe journey. Don't drive each other mad!

Bzz, I'll try. Good-bye, Liesl! (With that, Maran flies out the door after Cortez...) Boss! Slow down! Wait for me! Bzzzz...!

*The battlecry of the Radical Dreamer echoes through the arena as a Swellow shoots out of the battlefield's gate. The Swellow, an overeager lass named Fubuki, stares at the opposing gate in anticipation of her opponent, attempting to give off an air of majesty by remaining airborne. She speaks with what resembles an Australian accent.*

Fubuki: "Arright, say yer prayers! You 'aven't got a snowball's chance in hell against my gales, ya bloody figment!"

*Elm ribs Birch a little* "Fellow", huh? Just had to force that one...anyway, HER opponent is a recently evolved Quilava who hails from Orichalcum. Aren't they all psychics? Must mean "around"... Let's all welcome: charCoal!

(My inner thoughts continue. Now let's think about the circumstances again. He got lost, found this other Ribombee. Okay? Then he shows up when we were in that castle, pissed off, blows up in our faces at Silversand. Then we reveal that he likely has VA. We leave Silversand, we meet this Ribombee. She's cheery as all hell but gives off a creepy vibe, which sold me on the idea that she has VA. We come here and then both of them go fight in the tournament. That's fine, but we know that they both have VA. Then, he blows up in Fin's face, then disappears. I'm almost certain she worked her dark magic to lock him under her spell. Not only that, PJ has been able to resist his urges. There's no telling how much of...him will remain when we find him. WE NEED TO FIND THEM!)

(Here goes nothing.) I enter the arena, not acknowledging the crowd. My eyes are just locked on my oppenent's feet (er, talons). Once I've reached the spot I was approaching, my eyes shift up to meet with hers. (… Who's this flake?)

"Right. You're right. We should go to the inn. They'll have to show up at some point." F Inley starts heading to where she remembers the inn was.

[After hearing that huge crash, I slowly peer over the edge before remembering I'll probably have someone chasing after me soon enough. I race for the stairs.]

Right behind you, Fin!

(I start following.)

As Mila continues towards the arena, she notices a few strange looks coming her way. Granted, the inhabitants who notice her probably have no idea what's going on, but it doesn't stop them from being startled nonetheless. She keeps her head down, trying to ignore the pain throbbing across her back, but she continues to mutter short exclamations and expletives as she walks.

Eventually, she notices a Gallade in the distance. She doesn't think much of it, until seeing a small black shape floating nearby. She picks up her pace slightly, hoping that it's part of the group. Hopefully they have news for her. If she can find her way out.
