ITT: We Have All Become Pokémon

Probably not for good, don't worry. (I tell Finley.) I mean, probably just long enough to get my bearings and take a rest from all the danger, that's all. So much has happened over the past week that...I dunno, it's just overwhelming. I feel like I need a break from it all to actually adjust to being out here.

(Having been briefly cut off from Goobert's admission I decide to speak again.)

Hey, Goobert, want to go find everyone else?

"That's fine. It's your life after all. I hope you find your way, Goobert."

Yeah, thanks. (I say to Finley, uneasily.)

That sounds like a good idea, Marlon. Let's go. (I say to him at last.) See you later, Finley.

(Seeing Finley's face when I told her really stung. A tear begins sliding down my face as I leave.)

(Soon we're heading toward the beach. It's cloudier than it was before. It almost looks like it'll rain. I find Marsha sitting at her chair as usual.)

Oh, hey Goobert. (Marsha says, climbing down.) How ya doin'? Benji was wondering where you were.

We were just visiting the friend of ours who got taken to the hospital yesterday, that's all.

Oh. I guess that's a good reason not to show up. How are they doing?

She's seems like she's doing fine. She might even leave soon by the looks of it.

Well that's great! (Marsha says.) Say, there was some big commotion out here just as Del and I were about to leave last night. This Hakamo-o who looked like he had a couple of screws loose was beatin' the snot outta a bunch of guys. Insanity!

The doctor turns to his assistant in annoyance and speaks in German.

Golduck: Du Idiot! Es ist Dieter, nicht Deiter! Machen Sie nicht machen, machen Sie Experimente auf Sie wieder!

(Translation):You idiot! It's Dieter, not Deiter! Don't make make perform experiments on you again!

The doctor then turns to the nurse and speaks in English.

Golduck: Well good day to you m'lady! I am Sir Dieter von Gold, but you may refer to me as simply Mr. Gold. I am here to apply for the job opening for a doctor.

[I glance over at Goobert, giving him a understanding nod but feeling bittered and strangely disappointed. It is his decision, but...I don't know if it would be the right thing to do...]

[Seeing Goobert and Marlon leave makes me remember I have something else to do.] "I'm gonna go check on the others. I think I know where they may be at." [I look to the note, then to the two before filing out myself.]

Who were these guys? I think we know them.

*Having spent the night... Somewhere, I can't quite recall, I flutter into the hospital Finley and the others are at, having tracked Goobert and Marlon here one way or another yet only arriving shortly after they departed. I go up to whoever's manning the front desk and make an inquiry.*

"Hey, some of my friends came here earlier, a Goodra with glasses and a Gallade, not sure what sort of business they were here on but I'd like to know, are they still here? Oh, and I'd also like to know why they were here in the first place."

Well, there was a Snorlax, a Diglett, a Ribombee...wait a sec, don't at least two of those guys hang out with you?

Yeah! Do you know what happened to them?

Well...uh... (Marsha looks around. Her eye catches a sand covered mound a fair distance down the shoreline.)

I sure hope that isn't the Snorlax right there.

[He's back! I laugh from the surprise; took him long enough to find us again!]

[...he probably doesn't know about last night...I'm reminded of my bandages once more. I'm already getting a little stressed at the preposition of explaining last night's events to him...]

(I notice a giant blob nearby. Upon further inspection, I realize that this is Guy.)

Hey, wait, that's Guy!

Whoa! Has he been out here all night? (I make a run for it.)

They just went out the door, honey. (Gloria explains to PJ.) They were here seeing a Braixen who was brought in last night. Her name is...Kinley, I think? No, it was Finley! That's her name.

Guy's feet stuck out of the sand mound but otherwise he was covered in sand.

(I come over as well, and try to help Guy.)

Guy, wake up!

(I catch up to Marlon, with Marsha following behind, and get to the mound of sand. Only Guy's feet are visible.)

Dude, he must have been here since last night. (I try digging away the sand around where I think Guy's head is.)

He must have been.

(I dig around Guy's midsection as fast as I cab, while saying this.)

Goobert would see a big purple bruise on the back of Guy's head. Otherwise, Guy seemed to be unharmed.

"Shit, Finley? Oh god, what happened to-"

*My shock at the news of Finley's hospitalization is interrupted as Eliot notices and calls to me.*

"Izzat El? Yo, El!"

*My attention shifts from the nurse to Eliot as I fly over to him. I notice his bandages and go right back to being concerned.*

"Dude, are you... You okay, man? What happened to you? And Finley, for that matter, is she okay?"

Good grief! (I cry out.) You've been out here all night with this on the back of your head?!

Aaaand that's my cue to get the medics. (Marsha makes a break for the hospital.)

(At the hospital, Gloria finds no sign of an appointment from anyone named Dieter.)

I don't see your name on here, honey.

Are you sure, miss?

Von Gold replies back to his assistant

Von Gold: Ja, ich erinnere mich an diesen Vorfall. Dieser Fehler wird nicht wieder passieren.

(Translation): Yes, I remember that incident. That mistake won't happen again.

Von Gold then replies back to the nurse in English.

Von Gold: Check again. Incidentally, who's the most seriously injured patient in the hospital? I'd like to send that patient a get-well present.
