*back at the hospital, Jani moves over to the Chansey, stuff attached to her clunking and falling to the ground behind her, and notes the claw marks on her, saying* Same psycho cat got you too, huh?

*Voxno-V (another offscreen switch) notices Jack, does a cursory read, and quietly mentions to the group* I believe you and that Lucario over there have a certain something in common. It would be prudent to speak with him when you have the time.

*meanwhile, Potsa, a large Pigeot whom Jessica had originally summoned to watch over the party ~20 pages ago, had surveilled most of the goings on. Although it couldn't see the battle while the Trick Room was up, it quickly figured out that the unconscious but alive Dusknoir was the ghost that possessed Chansey, having caught its dark aura fade at the same time the miasma began clearing up. having made a quick trip to the guild and back, she returns with a Wigglytuff and a Conkeldurr, both agents of the guild*

*moving onto the scene, Potsa states*

We are with the Swords of Justice. In an effort to stem the advance of the Viral Aggression plague, we must quarantine this ghost.

*Keiko and Mikasa can only give them 100 yard states, with Keiko fully aware of what was inevitable. Mikasa breaks down into tears in her mother's arms*

Don't worry, we'll get him the help he needs. *the Wigglytuff takes out a medkit and starts working on the Dusknoir, making sure it's safe to move him*

(The Chansey looks over to Jani.)

What psycho cat? I don't remember anything so I guess that could be what happened to me...

"Miss, earlier when you were...possessed, you were attacking our group, you performed an attack that forced me to beknocked back onto my arm..." Holds up arm to the Chansey, as it may be broken, "and in response, I had to attack you to protect myself and my friends. I'm sorry for having caused some of your injuries... Can you find it in your kind heart to forgive me?"

Back at the boardwalk, the officers of the SPD are still recovering from the mess that had ensued while they were under the effects of the Miasma, with the vast majority of them scattered throughout the city - with a disproportionately high number in the fashionable touristy areas, of course - helping the residents get back on their feet, closing off dangerous locales, and so forth.

In these events, they can only spare three officers - an Electivire captain and one of his sergeants, a regular Electabuzz, along with a Pachirisu trained in first aid from the station - to bring the unconscious Dusknoir into custody and officially arrest them when the time came.

"You three, stand back!" the Electivire said to the three vigilantes busy fiddling with the perp. "This scumbag's our responsibility now." As he said this, the Pachirisu got close to the fallen Dusknoir and did her own, independent check to see if it was safe to move him... or more likely, if he needed a quick resuscitating.

Andy, covering his eyes, blindly enters the room. "Hey Jani. H-h-how you holding up, friend?"

I was p-... (the Chansey starts to say, her jaw dropping) Oooooh! The nerve of some Ghost-type Pokémon! (the Chansey squeals, rocking back and forth) Body-snatching me and forcing me to harm people and break their arms! Urghhh! Why, when I get well enough to walk again, I'll-

Gloria, please, relax... (One of the Audino says, putting a hand on the Chansey's shoulder.)

Sigh... (the Chansey takes a few deep breaths and turns back to Marlon) Honey, please forgive me for doing such a thing to you, even if it was beyond my control. I can understand why you and your fought back against me. It's the fault of the Ghost-type who took over my body. Oooh...' (the Chansey grunts, still visibly furious.)

Yes...yes it is... (the Chansey sighs. She lies back down and falls asleep a short time later.)

I lay upon my own hospital bed to await treatment.

*over by the unconscious area boss, the Conkeldurr could merely utter* Durr...our juristiction...durr...

*clarifying, Potsa turns to the Electabuzz and chimes in* What my associate is trying to say is that our jurisdiction supercedes yours in matters of national or global threats. The Swords of Justice have been tracing the Viral Aggression plague for months now, and what we learn from this Dusknoir could help us eliminate it altogether.

*the Wigglytuff chimes in* Ghost anatomy is tricky, but not enough to stump me! He should be stabilized and safe to move!

*realizing the importance of interagency cooperation, Potsa offers* If and only if this Dusknoir is deemed safe for populated areas, we'll hand him over to your the police for prosecution. *while tossing in as extra* Furthermore, you're free to select a representative to keep watch of him in our facility... *but backhanded with this last bit, she looks away* ...if you can spare the resources, that is.

*meanwhile, Keiko and Mikasa's expressions have not wavered. They are in complete emotional shock at this point*

*Jani notices Andy covering his eyes, and jumps to conclusion* Don't tell me that cat scratched your eyes out?! *though reflecting on the Chansey's reply, she says* I missed a lot, didn't I...

Andy smiles. "No, Jani, I just have reserves from seeing things right now, if you don't mind. Though your voice sounds quite peachy, might I say."

"Jani", I say calling her over to the bed I presently lay upon, "I should explain everything to you."

As the guild negotiates with local enforcement, Mila returns with Koss in tow to get a look at the Dusknoir.

Like they said, we've got a hol' on the matters a' the plague. Y'all have no idea how much help it'll be ta all a' us if I can jus' get a look in at this here Dusknoir. As I understan' it from Mila here, he was behind the spread ta the town?

Koss moves in to shake hands with the leading police officer with a genuine smile on his face, knowing that he had the power in this situation.

"You missed a lot, but... in your condition, it was for the best." Finley tries to rationalize.

The Electivire folds his arms and sighs, murmuring under his breath. "'Swords of Justice', who comes up with this crap... might as well call it the grand order of happy-dappy light stuff..."

"With all due respect, ma'am," he said, raising his voice, "I can't just take your word for it. I'm gonna need to see proof that your jurisdiction supersedes ours; otherwise, this son-of-a-bitch isn't going anywhere, if you'll pardon my choice of words." He quite notably declined Koss' handshake, still sticking to his guns.

He really, really wanted to add in a bit about how they had some nerve snarking at them when they're the ones busy seeing to the city while this bunch of suspiciously well-funded boy scouts are wasting their time chasing cures rather than battening down the hatches... but he couldn't. His profession wouldn't allow it. All he could show was a barely-concealed scowl of disgust. An expression mirrored by his Pachirisu colleague, albeit for different reasons. She really wanted to get the chance to resuscitate him.

Ain't it clear? We know what we're dealin' with, we got here jus' as fast, an' we've got a plan take deal with it. If all ya want is ta prosecute, you'll have yer time. Due process can wait ta save the world, after all. You got a better idea?

Koss does not seem pleased with current events.

Andy, now facing the wall, speaks up. "Well, at least it's over."

In walks the Blastoise and the Numel, waving around their clipboard petition. "We need all you punks up to sign this here petition, which would evac all these gentrifying rich folks out of our town!"

"Excuse me sirs, but who are you?" I say to the Pokémon that just appeared.

The Blastoise and the Numel looked at them. "I see, you beat up guys one minute, and the next you fuhget about it. That's alright. Just sign the paper."

The Pokémon look different. Their eyes are fuller. Their bodies are bold and bright.

Jack wakes up from his nap

Jack: Who are there two charlatans?

I then notice the Lucario.

"I'd like to say the same thing to you, red beard."

*Jani moves toward Marlon to hear his story* I have all the time in the world. It's not like I'm going anywhere. *she causes her prone tethered equipment to shake intentionally, which a random Audino finally sets upright for her*

*meanwhile, realizing that it has much paperwork to do, Voxno-V◊ simply states* I am afraid I have guild business to attend to. *it tells the humanmons* However, be sure to stop by later. While it may seem garish to bring up compensation, I will put in a word so that you all get a significant bonus for dealing with such a terrible threat.

*Voxno-V then heads out, and then notices the squabble between the guild and the cops, and gets called over by Potsa* Hey Vox! We need your nerdbook over here! We need to get this guy into quarantine, pronto!

*unfazed by Potsa's colorful dialogue, Voxno-V flips through its notebook a couple times on the way over, and shows a special order, with the hoofprint seal of Keldeo* This hoof print certifies that, as a representative, I am authorized by the Four Founders of the Swords of Justice themselves to take into quarantine any and all individuals suspected of being a potential vector of contamination for the Viral Aggression.

*it flips through its notebook again, and finds the relevant statute* I hearby invoke section 3, subsection A, paragraph V of the agreement signed between the Silversand Police Department and Silversand Guild which states, "Any and all threats deemed by the guild to be global threats shall be immediately relinquished to guild member with a rank of Department Chief or higher, regardless of the agent's guild chapter of origin."

*flipping once more, Voxno-V flashes its badge as the Chief Investigator of the Orichalcum Guild*

*the other guild members that sarysa controls can only look on in awe*

"Jani, the Chansey in this hospital became possessed by a...manisomething. It's something that has to do with hate plague. During the fight, I might have broken my arm." I struggle to hold it up. "After we eradicated it from the Chansey, the ghost in question locked us into a trick room and injured Cyk. After a while, the ghost turned into a Dusknoir that had a wife and children..."
