Hydrogen balloons don't need to be heated; they float on their own because hydrogen is lighter than air (though helium achieves the same effect without the explosion hazard). A hot air balloon functions on the principle that gases expand as they are heated, so by trapping air in a balloon and heating it, you can make the balloon buoyant enough to float a payload.

We got more info on the anime's cast: Senkuu is Subaru, Taiju is Saitama, Yuzuriha is Ichigo and Tsukasa is Bucciarati.

Ichinose Kana is slowly gaining prominence it seems. She does have a very recognizable voice.

Oh, and the anime will be made by TMS Entertainment, starting in July.

I know it's subjective, but when would you say this series picks up? I've read the first three chapters (Since those and the last three are the only one's legally available for free.) but I'm still not completely sold on it. I've heard good things, but I'm wondering how long it takes to get to those.

It's generally agreed that it gets better when a character named Kohaku is introduced and Senkuu becomes the effective protagonist. Which is around chapter… 15-ish, if I remember?

Senkuu becomes the main protag around chapter 10, actually.

Around the second volume yeah.

Essentially Taiju is just a decoy protagonist to introduce Senku, when Senku becomes obviously the protagonist and Taiju goes in bus ride it gets really good

What really makes it good is that Senku is one of the smartest shonen protagonists introduced in recent memory.

Especially compared to most who have an anti-intelligence vibe, he’s all about the intelligence & science.
