Fire Emblem Heroes

I'll probably roll reds and greens until I get Helbindi and call it. I would like one of each, but I only have 150 orbs and that seems unlikely.

My Draug just took 0 from a Sheena's Aether. 56 Def when attacked + Def tile = get wrecked, Sheena.

Garon's map gets a little spammy, but it wasn't anything the usual team couldn't handle. Since all the units just like to charge headlong in and spawn somewhat staggered, Fae probably would've been a better pick than Nino, but eh.

I kind of want all three Muspell for the sake of collection but my current orb count probably isn't allowing that.

Garon was no match for the mage with tiny hands and his backup dancers.

I'm just saying it's weird no one talking about how popular Veronica has been getting. It means it's pretty impressive all things consider, right? I suppose I should just drop it. Although, I'm not really sure why it's embarrassing to try pull for one of your favorite characters.

To this day, I'm not sure how I was able to pull Katrina & Lyn. Too bad my Lyn has the worst IV's. But by far my best free pull is Hardin back in the Fighters Banner. I don't think I'm ever going to get luckier than that.

I'm kinda annoyed that we won't be getting any paralogues. So much for getting 12 orbs.

Smol dragons beat up big scary dragon with ease, news at 11.

Another easy GHB. Guess it did have to be accurate to Birthright.

Let's hope they don't make a habit of no paralogue Orbs.

Anyway, Garon had auto-reinforcements, but at least these weren't as oppressive as L!Marth's. Good enough to work around.

Opinion: Tempest Trials just up to unique rewards, or max out? I still have my weirdly large stock of stamina potions but damn is it tedious.

Cap it out. It's orbs and HM. Personally, I try to use it to cap HM on any bonus 4-star freebies that I may want SP on, since that's the main place they can fight with low risk of getting ganked. And if I end up not deciding to use them (likely with Jamke, the more I monitor his performance), they've at least generated a bunch of feathers for me.

I don't really have the time or patience to max out Tempest Trials, so just to 20,000 for me.

I find it easy enough to get to 50000, this time. But by then I did have 60-odd potions and two decent dancers (including a Bonus unit) to work with. All I did was set the goal of getting 10000 a day and I was done in 5 days. (with the first two runs covering 2/5 of the legwork)

Well, pulled female Morgan (+Atk, -Res), but still no Ophelia. I just need her for my mage team and then I can conserve orbs for Helbindi, but... at this rate it's not gonna happen.

@agent-trunks: My basic position here is that Heroes is a side game on a niche platform so the popularity of a character within it doesn't really matter. At most, Veronica might get the Cipher character treatment and show up in DLC.

And the "embarrassing number" was just a cry for help from the part of me that recognizes how shameful playing this waifbando-collecting game is a colorful way of saying "a lot."

I generally just do the highest difficulty set twice with a bonus unit for the points, then just auto-battle the Level 30 difficult and spam my surplus of Stamina potions. This lets me rack up HM will still getting a good rank.

I hit the 50k mark like 3-4ish days ago with this method.

I wish his prf was better. Falchion negation is neat, but you probably want to run Lightning Breath with Steady/Warding Breath to abuse that nice 43/33/32 mixed bulk. Might be fun for GHB strats, though.

Heroes has the most popularity, players, and profit of any Fire Emblem to date. The thing most stopping say, Veronica getting into Smash or some other big thing like that, is that IS and Nintendo view it as a spin-off, and most references are going to be made to the mainline games.

They may have gone with dragon Garon so they could save Bolverk for Gooron.

Though to date we haven't gotten two versions of a GHB unit outside of Xander, so I dunno.

I wouldn't be surprised if Camilla with Bolverk ends up being a Legendary Hero. But I think our next hero is Blue or Colorless, right? And probably either Cavalry or Flier, since I think IS is finally getting the message that we're sick of Armor Emblem.

At last, Tempest Trials are a wrap and I can stop sending Deirdre into mortal combat with her husband over and over again like the monster I am.

There's also Takumi, Robin, and arguably Kana, depending on whether you count genderswaps as the same character.

I'd suggest that the idiosyncrasies of the way gacha games work make players and profits misleading guides to popularity. Being free means a lower bar to entry, so it's easier for it to pick up large numbers of players even if they aren't that enthusiastic about it. And the money it makes disproportionately comes from the mega-whales, who despite their bottomless pockets don't get more of a vote than the ftp peasants.

I'm curious what metric you're using to determine it's more popular than the mainline games, especially since you bring that up separately from the players and profits numbers, which are easy to tally. And since I'd be surprised to see very many people name Heroes as their favorite game in the franchise. Yeah, it's a pipeline of payment-optional content and we all appreciate that or we wouldn't be here. But the gameplay's stripped down, the story's unremarkable, much of the appeal comes from collecting characters from other games, and it only occasionally has any kind of crossover interaction.

The whales do get something more of a vote, even if it's largely passive. Any design changes first and foremost need to consider their demographic, since keeping them around is top priority. This necessitates throwing anyone who pays less money under the bus from time to time.

I'm really not sure the game can be called all that stripped down, anymore, either—especially as they keep adding more and more complicated skills with invisible effects that we need to keep track of. When much of the mainline games are about having overpowering stats on juggernauts for strong EPs that clear out small enemy armies at a time, I really don't see a ton of difference anymore.

I'll definitely give that the mainline stories are more solid, though.

EDIT: Muspell is here and... surprisingly didn't eat my entire orb stockpile. It did look like it was going to be a big troll off the bat, though. First circle had two blues, two colourless and a Selena that I pulled, then aborted from. Second circle was 3* Camilla, 3* Camilla, followed by a +Res/-Spd Helbindi. Not optimal overall, but he's got the optimal bane and that boon gives him pretty much even mixed defenses. A shame I won't be using him in Arena, since my Fjorm +7 scores so much higher, but at least I'll get to cleave through Forging Bonds with him.

Fair enough on the complicatedness of the gameplay. My, we've come a long way from those first couple months.

Was gonna take a stab at Helbindi, but when no greens showed on the first circle I decided to take it as an omen. Need to keep my stockpile up for the Halloween spoopies, anyway.

With Tempest Trials, if you get a bonus unit and do 3 Trials every day at the highest difficulty, and 4 Trials on the last day, you typically get enough to hit 50,000 even if you get a few B ranks. Anyway...

Holy crap. Kinda heartwarming... and also extremely lucky! This was off a 3.25% too. I got Helbindi off my first circle as well. Luckiest banner I've had in a while.

And that's a +Res/-HP Helbro.
