so, what kind of town can we expect, i think you mentioned a small town in west Virginia? what else can we expect on that end? also whats the state of magic in your world? Other than the forest does magic still hold sway in some places?

Heyo.

Another question; how close to the town is the forest?

[up][up] The state of magic in the world is basically that its regarded as a fairy tale and nobody knows about or remembers the alien invasion - for a variety of reasons that involve spoilers.

As for what kind of town it is, it is a rather quiet, small town with one high school, but with some hints it might have been bigger in the past.

[up] As for how close the forest is, its directly outside of the town.

My sincerest apologies for how late the answers came.

Thanks for responding, i appreciate it, also, what are the local hangouts, landmarks, ect. Does the town have anything it takes pride in? is this place heavily religious?

Among the landmarks is Bigfoot Hill, a large hill with a prominent outline of a large foot at the top.

There is an old church present, and the Cultists have a rather bare bones commune / village a few miles up from the Hill, past some slightly heavier forest - it is called Happy Town.

...you have not mentioned cultists before now. That would be a fairly important detail.

Oh wait you mean the strangers in the woods. They have a compound? And what's with that name, it doesn't really go with their theme.

You'll see. They say "silence is golden", after all. The strangers in the woods are well, REALLY, REALLY strange.

The best part of being a GM is that you can in fact always say this and regardless of whether or not it's true it's impossible for your players to know how far ahead you're planning, allowing you to bullshit infinitely or freestyle dev commentary as you please.

Behold Starman, the first boss.

Don't be fooled by his silly demeanor - Manu Statue chose him for a reason for the Chosen Assignment.

...though I really did have too much fun writing his corny dialogue.
