I didn't mean to open this, but since I did, I might as well say that I fixed the link.
I think this can be fixed only by cleaning up. And maybe reducing the trope to a regular YMMV item without a dedicated subpage. Subpaging stuff seems to create/aggravate such issues.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI don't see the need to reduce it from a subpage. We have subpages for anything that gets too big. I've seen subpages for And The Fandom Rejoiced or Epic Fail.
But yes, the only way to fix this is constant cleanup. I've seen a lot less first-person recently (though still more than normal pages), so we're making progress on changing the troper hive mind on that front. The most recurring problem I see is the same Example Indentation problems we see on main pages, plus Repair Dont Respond.
Related, this is the commented-out note I put on top of problematic Fridge pages. I think I got it from Maddie. Does it seem like it's good enough, or does it need tweaking?
This isn't Troper Tales or a forum. Refrain from first person entries, speculation, and "replying" to entries. Repair Dont Respond is in effect here as much as any other page.
Fridge that demands an answer goes on the Headscratchers tab. If you want to add a fridge example that needs an answer, or see a fridge example you want to answer, move it over to Headscratchers.
I thought Fridge Brilliance, Fridge Horror and such are supposed to be someone's personal thoughts and thus they're allowed to be written in first person?
We don't need justice when we can forgive. We don't need tolerance when we can love.Fridge anything should not be written in first person. Both fridge "tropes" and headscratchers should revolve around the subject without saying "me", "I", "This troper". Or that's how I understand it.
Even if it's personal thoughts?
Well I've seen enough Fridge Brilliance (and Horror) writings not being put in first person, so I think it's fine not to have first person in those pages? But I don't see why it's not okay to have first person thingies there, either.
We don't need justice when we can forgive. We don't need tolerance when we can love. What's the consensus on entries having "signatures", i.e. "In Work X this was smart - (Insert Name Here)"? To me this seems like a way to get around the prohibition of first-person but still get Internet Points™ for noticing something, and while the Fridge Tropes fall under YMMV and therefore are somewhat subjective, adding a link to your page after contributing is exactly what I'd hope the restrictions on subjectivity would fix.
Do not sign Fridge entries. Remove any such signatures you find and rewrite the entry to be third-person.
Clock is set.

The examples in Fridge Brilliance are teeming with the use of first person pronouns, despite the warning that they should not be used.
