Thanks. Yeah, black and gold are two of my favourite colours along with bone, grey, purple and red. I always try to include at least two of them on my models these days.
In my continuing (and slow) project to revamp my existing collection for 8th Edition I have done a few of my Khorne Traitor Astartes. Here is the first of them. I didn't change much for these guys beyond rebasing them and a few weapon swaps to fit the current wargear options.
That's pretty cool...I like that color scheme a lot better than the standard Khorne Berserker.
Thanks. The scheme does work quite well I will admit. When I get around to painting some Bloodletters I intend to paint them similarly with black skin, and red horns and hellblades.
I did have a hand in painting minis. Although they're a bit cartoonish on the side (which isn't really a bad thing).
When you're not the father, It's a great big surprise. Thats-a-Maury.Nice I like the Dwarf.
Not bad...I like the dwarf, too.
I have now finished a minimum size Chaos Marine Squad of the warband that I posted a model from last week. Due to my habit of moving from project to project I recently decided that, when painting an army, I would do minimum squads until I had the compulsory units in a detachment before going back and building up the squad.
x4: Huh, it doesn't show anything for some reason.
... And that's called jazz!Pretty good overall, although you missed painting in the port at the end of the melta's muzzle. Also, did you use any washes on the skull or the severed head?
I used Agrax Earthshade on the skulls followed by a drybrush of Tyrant Skull. I will admit that some of them didn't turn out quite as well as I had hoped and I can't quite figure out why (I think I may have been rushing a bit). I did forget about the melta's barrel and didn't notice until after I had taken the picture.

This week I finished a minimum sized Fallen Squad. I like how they turned out even if some of the poses (particularly the Champions power sword) are a little awkward.
I recently finished painting an Epic scale Marauder. I am very happy how it turned out.
Nice job on both kits. Is that Marauder about the size of a Space Marine in scale?
Thanks. The Marauder is a bit less then 3.5cm in wingspan and a little over 4cm in length.
That's good work, especially on Mortarion.
NiceWhat did you build up the bases with?
Thanks! I was really happy how Mortarion's face came out actually.
On Mortarion? Just his normal base and Stirland Mud (or Stirland Battlemire, one of the two muddy texture paints). On Khârn and Sammael, the bases are built up with cork board. Khârn's base also has some wood glue to make the base for the blood.
Cool. I have always wanted to try using corkboard for scenery and bases but never got around to trying it.
Corkboard bases are really, really easy actually.
The biggest thing is this: Score the bases with a hobby knife first to give the glue more grip to the cork and base. I also use superglue to glue the cork to the base.
The only issue with corkboard bases is that you need to pin the models to the base, else they have a high likelihood of falling off the bases.
I also started on another project: I made Krieg from Borderlands 2 for Necromunda◊. Made from the AoS Slaughterpriest, a Goliath ganger gasmask, an Ork Nob big choppa and shotgun from the Nob kit.
Accurate rendition?
Yeah, this is something I have always been worried about with scenic bases, especially as I still use a lot of old metal models.
Accurate rendition?
I don't know the source but he looks good.
I also finished my first squad of Noise Marines, aka Deth Leppard for the E Tenebrae Lux event on Bolter and Chainsword:
Group Shot◊, Champion, Blastmaster and Redhead front◊, Pinky, Ginger and Angry Black Man front◊.
Oh, that's clever...well done.
Good job; you can never go wrong with gold and black together.
