It looks like a redoing of Dark Corners of the Earth.
:)
Which isn't a bad thing.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. As long as it doesn't have a horde of glitches like Dark Corners did.
O.K, this looks fun.
I'm in!
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.I was really impressed by the demo at E3. It could be my Game of Show.
I am so, so looking forward to this. Especially because it's based off the Call of Cthulhu Pen and Paper RPG which I've played and GM'd on a a few occasions and it's such a fun game.

New E3 trailer
Apparently releasing sometime this year.
Children of Dievas - my webcomic about the Northern CrusadesWell, I've played the game and it's a solid 7/10. There's a lot of good going on here even if it's probably a game which would have been better divesting itself of all remaining RPG elements and going full Life is Strange.
It's more than halfway there anyway.
Mind you, the actor from Vampyr has a VERY distinctive voice that his attempt to put a Bostonian accent on is....weird.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I wonder if we can get the mods to change the title.
The game was delayed til 2018 after all.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Got this on sale recently. It's alright. As far as atmospheric "horror" adventure games go - a genre I'm rarely too interested in - it's not too bad. I don't regret my time playing it, at least, the way I kind of did after playing Iconoclasts (only mentioned because it's another game I picked up on sale and pressed all the way through recently).
I like that it's heavy on the suspense theming rather than the horror theming: it can be scary, but doesn't really rely on it outside of its spooky atmosphere and vicious conspiracy. It helps the air of supernatural secrecy.
But I wish it w. The game it as its strongest when it's a mystery title: investigating areas, picking up clues from dialogue, finding new pathways thanks to those clues and new layers to the characters and the terror that underlies everything, etc and so on. It starts out really working this concept, and then drops it pretty soon in to give you the story more straight out and be more of an adventure title. The objectives eventually become simpler and simpler, until you're really just going from point a to point b and occasionally getting a puzzle thrown in your way to keep you from doing so right away. Said puzzles tended to be... less than organic.
Thus on the flipside, the game is at its weakest when it tries stealth or combat. The stealth isn't too awful. It's bad, but not playthrough ruiningly so. But the "combat" towards the end is stupid and obstructive. Both feel like a chore. Neato.
But, like, I loved the detective parts. I guess I'm latching onto that because I wish detective/mystery games were more of a thing, but you only get one like every few years and they all have something or other that makes them less fun than they should be.

I noticed that this upcoming game didn't have a thread yet.
Anyway Cyanide Studio is making Call of Cthulhu, an RPG set to be released in 2017 for PC and consoles based on, as the most intellectual and smart may have deduced, the Cthulhu Mythos. Here's a trailer:
What are your thoughts?
