That was a good first episode.
Episode 1: With Izetta last season and now this it seems mages in the World Wars are a thing at the moment. This time it is World War 1 and I am liking what I am seeing of the series so far. While I am not much of a fan of the character design of the main character, I am liking the badass loli commander very much. The setting seems good as well.
I wasn't expecting this to be good at all, but if it continues on like this or improves even more it'll probably be one of the best anime in this season, if not the year.
I can't wait to see Tanya as the salary man from Japan get sent to this world by god and how she pisses him off in the process, which is probably next week.
Watch SymphogearIt would probably be better if they skipped that aspect altogether.
They already hinted at it with one of Tanya's comments to herself, so....
Watch SymphogearWell, this certainly is entertaining, and I love the faces she makes. I never do like rooting for the bad guys though.
Oho, this one looks interesting. Tanya's quite the supreme salaryman(??).
New episode:
definitely one of the more unique characters that gets sent to another world, thats for sure. Also, clever way of having God speak to Tanya before death through literally everything, like people, animals, and even inanimate objects.
Train-kun strikes again.
Watch SymphogearWhat the hell, that was amazing. Why didn't they lead with this?
And that ED
Does magic grant you super strength? Because I don't care how competent a 9-year old girl is, she is not wielding a large rifle like that so casually. Entertaining otherwise. We got a better insight into Tanya's mindset, what drives her (at first wanting to live, now giving a big middle finger to Being X), and how she managed to become crazed and successful. Still dumb, but the entertaining kind.
This a series where God reincarnates a atheistic amoral salaryman into a little girl who gets drafted into the military. where soldiers use magic to fly around. A 9-year old wielding a rifle is the least outlandish thing in this show.
Magic seems to have telekinetic properties, she's probably taking advantage of it.
Watch SymphogearI thought Mr. Salaryman's reincarnation into a loli was contrived, but I guess when you piss off a god, putting you in the body of a little girl is just a little extra payback.
Doesn't make sense to me why Being X would also give Tanya high magical aptitude though; I'll assume it's some flaw in the reincarnation system. It still goes against the conceit of removing Mr. Salaryman from a position of power. It's also a deal less interesting than seeing her have to claw her way up on the back of the principles she's so proud of. But then, that's also a harder story to sell.
Besides, what we actually get is still good entertainment. Having Being X speak via timestopped crowd was a very neat touch, the moments of "humiliation" that comes with being a little girl were funny (especially the after-credits scene!), and it's good that her plans get derailed from time to time.
I still have some nitpicks, but those are about combat and warfare and they're footnotes in this show.

Wow, this episode did a complete 180 in terms of tone, I honestly wasn't expecting that. I knew about the reincarnation plot, I just didn't think he was just...a...well a slightly amoral salaryman.
I don't even know where this series is planning on going. It was pretty funny tho how he was like "Ok, I'll go down heroically and I can retire in peace...fuck, it didn't work"
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Hahaha wow, that ending was brutal.
Reading the manga, I find it hilarious how often Tanya completely misreads the responses of those around her(him?).
It could be that, or just Tanya brand IDGAF
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareWait, there's after-credits content? Guess I gotta pull up the video again.
Basically I'm going into this as Catch Twenty Two the anime, if Yossarian were a loli. I'm kind hoping it sticks with it.
God is going full Old Testament on this dude/Loli.
Watch SymphogearFirst half was hilarious. Second half suffered from episode 1 being cut out of it's proper place, but was still enjoyable
Looks like the nutcracker is going to be Being X's main manifestation? Odd choice
OP and ED are both good songs. Don't have much going on visually, but that was probably inevitable
a new series coming out this winter: about a young girl on the battlefield called Tanya, renowned for her wickedness and evil on the battlefield of War War 1 europe with Magitek elements. She's actually one of the most ruthless salarymen in japan that was reincarnated into a little girl because he pissed off God, somehow.
Here's the two versions of the most recent PV, Monster and Fairy. Other then the opening minute, both are the same, just from different perspectives:
This could very well be the most evil main role Aoi Yuuki has ever played.
