I actually revisited it myself a few months or so ago, and while I didn't find it as funny as I did the first time around, I agree with your assessment there. It's just an all-around great show with a cast that keeps the show above average even when the writing goes a little off the rails. Kinda wish we had more shows of its ilk. (Well, more good shows like it at least.)
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Harvey Birdman's coming back in a special.
Please please don't suck, be funny.

Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. That is great. I really dug this show.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireThey got back everyone. Even Stephen Colbert.
Now I just need the writing to be on point.
[adult swim] just released the first clip of Harvey Birdman, Attorney General yesterday and as someone who's never seen Harvey Birdman, this made me laugh my butt off!
Coming October 14th, 2018!

“Ha ha! Early Colbert role.”
Man, I can't believe they're doing a Special for a show that's been gone for years. I guess this means that Birdman faked his death in the Series Finale? Because he was supposed to be dead.
Looking forward to it!
Hey animation-wise, how does this compare to the original series? Because I'm loving how fluid the animation in that clip is.
The first season relied on Traditional Animation; however the budget was cheap so there wasn't a whole lot of animation with it. By the 3rd Episode of Season 2, the Show basically looks like this Special, as they switched from Traditional to Flash, allowing them to do a lot more for a lot less.
So the Special essentially looks like the Show from it's second season onward.
Who's the girl in the suit?
Who's the other cat with the beak?
Do you really want to feel her?

Wow, never was expecting this to be honest. But I'm game.
The Birdgirl show comes out April 4.
First trailer:
Well, looks like we wont be seeing appearances from any H-B characters in this one (well, aside from Birdgirl), looks like this will have to stand on its own.
Not the biggest fan of the Art Design, and especially not a fan of no H-B Characters in it. I would give this show a shot, but my family returned their DirectTV boxes, and I don't have a Subscription to HBOMax right now. I'm going to have to rely on word of mouth to see if it has any worth to it.
×2
It is a spin off.
That said, i don't see anything saying there won't be any H B characters.
Art design doesn't look out of the ordinary for Adult Swim, so i don't see them problem.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Adult Swim has provided the pilot for Birdgirl right now on YouTube; a few hours earlier than its televised premiere later at 12am tomorrow.
Ooph, that was a bit rough. Not quite sure how I feel about it yet, gonna give it one or two more before I decide to keep going.
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness.A bit deep in some places, which is nice, but it lacks a lot of strong connections to the old show (beyond the Phil cameos) and most importantly the HB library

Yeah. Heck, enough time has passed that they could have used the 90s/2000s H-B/CN/even Adult Swim characters, though again, that would be nothing but a callback to the early days of AS back when it was a "lets make fun of Hanna Barbera" block for the most part.
I don't think it's supposed to be exactly like the old show. If they wanted that they would have just done that again.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"I liked it, and I'm glad we're seeing more of this universe. One of the coolest things about early CN/AS is that they took a bunch of old cartoon characters and found new ways to make them funny. It's nice that they're doing it again, but for their own versions of those characters. Life, death and rebirth.
But yeah, I wanna see what Harvey and the Hanna-Barbera bunch are up to. I don't think they'll overshadow Birdgirl as long as the writers don't lose focus.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?You know, Dexter, the Powerpuff Girls, and Johnny Bravo ARE H-B characters, and enough time has passed that the kids who grew up with them are now adults, maybe they could somehow have a role in this series.
It looks like tonight is the last episode according to Paget Brewster . Though I'm not sure if she means series finale or season finale.

I recently revisited this show and found it just as funny as i did back in the day. Moreso in fact, as back then i was just laughing at the H-B characters being put in bizzare legal battles, but now i appreciate how well done the humor (albiet, kind of random, but not too out there) was, and the excellent voice cast. Admittedly, it kind of fell off the rails near the end of its run, but the first two seasons are excellent IMO, and it holds up a lot better than the other adult swim H-B parody Sealab 2021.
