Between having no need for more Reshiram and the special challenge being complete-able anytime, I really don't have any reason to play lately XD

At most, it's just to hatch eggs......Zekrom please come already

I'm just waiting for my Pokemon to fill up. Poor Riolu being fed with 15 berries.

[up][up]15 challenges is easy (doubly if you have PUP Lucario). Besides it doesn't matter if you win or lose. Raids is more annoying, either you get lucky or have 15 remote raid passes.

I just find it a slog, especially if lag decides to hit. Battles rarely go quick.

Anyone who doesn't care about rating can just join and immediately forfeit 15 battles.

Battles need to do away with this "turns" and action queue thing. Also probably need to weigh win streaks a lot less heavily than they do. Going 3-2 shouldn't only increase your ranking by like 1 while going 2-3 drops it by 20.

Also, google/reddit confirms that no, Nice charge moves does not result in less energy use than Excellent. Also, it does appear to scale within categories (that is, Great with more bubbles is better than Great with less bubbles).

https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphArena/comments/duqzqm/nice_great_excellent_energy_left_over/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphArena/comments/cfgd99/difference_between_excellent_great_nice_and_none/

Also, got a pretty good reshiram from raid hour (just one short of max in all three stats), hurray.

There's a reason I say the system is bad and that they just need to do away with it. Like, it was fine as a trashy, janky gymming-like system for non-stakes PvP, but as soon as they tried to do a competitive league, that really exposed how poorly designed it is.

And there was never scaling energy costs for not getting max bubbles, I'm not sure why they'd do it now. Sometimes it's worthwhile to not do all the bubbles in order to farm some extra energy again the current Mon, though. Just do enough charge damage to make sure they won't get theirs off before they die.

I mean, the game isn't particularly good at explaining mechanics, and given the simplicity of how it's designed, I think it's understandable why people might think that there's only nice/great/excellent and no scaling.

It was rumored a while ago that energy usage is based on the nice/great/excellent rating, and I believe one of the Reddit threads point out that may be a misunderstanding of what "Sometimes it's worthwhile to not do all the bubbles in order to farm some extra energy again the current Mon, though. Just do enough charge damage to make sure they won't get theirs off before they die." means.

Heck, I'm not sure I understand it myself, but if I'm getting it right: use a charge move to knock the opposing mon to a health level where you can kill it with fast moves before it gets off its next charge move so your current mon still has energy left over for the next guy?

That's exactly it, yeah. You'll take a little bit of extra damage from their additional fast attacks, but it'll give you an energy lead that you can hope to exploit against the next Mon (especially if that Mon hasn't seen combat yet).

Randomly tried Pv P again today just out of curiosity and as expected, the moment I started winning that first battle.... WEAK CONNECTION!

I just quit, forfeiting the match. It still is the POS I remember. Not even my battles against my friends literally across the Atlantic ocean ever got any weak connection errors. I'd rather fight them! lol [lol]

Lost a battle because the mon switching in somehow gets charge move priority because Niantic can't be arsed to display switch in animation before the player switching in is allows to input commands, resulting in that set being a 3-2 that only moved me up like 3 points.

Not sure if it's happening for anyone else, but I'm no longer seeing the numerical rating for all the people I'm fighting. Not sure if it's just a bug, or if the game is matching me against people who have just reached rank 7, although that shouldn't be the case because reaching rank 7 is what gives you a number to start with...

Scizor is somehow doing much better now that I'm growing a little more used to shielding with him on account of not being able to rely on tanking neutral damage. His charge moves trigger like real fast, and he's managing to take out or reduce swampert to nearly dead as well. Current team is him with aggron and snorlax, based around beating up giratina. I'm pretty screwed against anyone with a fighting type, though, but giratina and the fairies' promenance seems to result in my rarely encountering any.

Still debating if I want to switch either Scizor's fury cutter for bullet punch, or snorlax's outrage for earthquake or superpower.

I tried fighting in the battle league for the first time fairly recently, and while I didn't have a whole ton of trouble in the first league, once I got to the next one there was only one time where I didn't get absolutely creamed by my opponent before I could knock out even one of their Pokémon. I'm not sure if it was because of poor connections and people abusing that or if I had just been using substandard mons, though.

(I should also point out that I only just started dabbling in any of the PvP stuff in Go because of how the Throwback challenges that just happened sometimes required them.)

[up] Same here. Got to rank 3 just with the mons I happened to have and now I'm losing almost every fight. Not trying very hard.

A lot of people still playing it these days are likely to be using meta or semi-meta stuff. Even if they don't have the Mons optimized or particularly know how to play, if you're just using whatever auto-select happens to pick, you're probably losing on stats alone (there's a lot of really bad Mons in this game).

Managed to catch a Latios in a raid today. It was the first time I caught a raid Latios; every other Latios I caught was from a research breakthrough. Best part of the whole thing was that my first throw resulted in a lucky catch.

I just need to do one more raid to complete my "Win 15 raids" task. I'm hoping to do a remote Zekrom raid today to complete it (assuming today is when Zekrom starts appearing).

Still need to hatch around 2 more eggs before I can move on to the next set of tasks. I'm crossing my fingers that the 7 KM egg I'm incubating right now hatches into a 3-star Galarian Zigzagoon.

How long can it possibly take to implement a single GBL bug fix?

At this rate they better be attaching some kind of charge move priority rework.

This is Niantic we're talking about. They operate in Valve time, but with 1/10 the efficiency and QA work.
