Kind of like the 'N' word, parodied blatantly in the first Rush Hour.
I dunno. I'd say the word "trap" still has its usage to describe a guy pretending to be a girl with the intent on deceiving someone (usually another guy). The only other word we have to describe someone in that situation is "asshole."
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!So since Link is intentionally dressing up to be a female with the intent to deceive someone, except in this case, females, how then could we label him? By your definition, 'trap' doesn't work unless you include both sexes in the deception and we all know Link isn't an asshole....except maybe to that one guy who has the snow and sand boots!
Yeah, but that guy's a jerk anyway. It's kinda like scamming a telephone scammer. The only reason he hasn't already been shut down hard before Link gets to him is that the actual Gerudo have too much class to even pay attention to the man.
@78, That's pretty much the slang definition of an trap (and why Ackbar is famous). But from what I seen, it's about the same thing as black people calling each other niggers. I guess it's how and why you're using it for it to be offensive.
But Link baiting the footwear guy is one of my favorite parts of the game.

Answer no master, never the slave Carry your dreams down into the grave Every heart, like every soul, equal to breakThe boots guy is such an idiot.
I love when Link interrupts him with "Gimme the boots." He's not even trying to act interested, and the guy still eats it up.
So about to go back to the snow rolling game.
What is the absolute best strategy for getting Strikes consistently? I'm probably going to mess it up constantly, but I still want to know for sure.
One Strip! One Strip! There's a small hill on the right-hand side of the hill, right at the starting line. Try to set the ball down right on the center of it so that it rolls straight down instead of left or right. You have time to catch it if it starts to go down left or right and set it down again. If set down right, it will roll straight down and then curve into the gap between the first and third pins, taking them all down. It's easy to get into a rhythm once you get used to where to set the ball.
Qui odoratus est qui fecit.Got a video of that? It might be easier if I see it done.
One Strip! One Strip! Thanks. Was able to build up a bit of cash because of that.
Seem to have more or less got the hang of it now. I still occasionally botch it, but I still gain more money than I lose on average.
I also found my third great fairy, near the Tanbantha (sp) Tower. I had seen it before when I activated said tower, but opted to search for more money, hence the Snow bowling. It only cost me 1000.
Now I'm looking for the materials to upgrade all my armours. Specifically, I need more Warm Safina for the Snowquill Set. I have two for some reason, and they apparently grow in warm areas, but I have no clue where to get them. I also need more Ancient Cores and we all know those are a bitch to find.
The other stuff I more or less know where to find (I need a few more Smotherwing Butterflies, but I should be able to find those in Eldin, I just need a little stealth).
So yeah, Warm Safina. Where be it?
One Strip! One Strip!Gerudo Desert, if memory serves. You can also use the power of Google to quickly answer all questions like that.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Damn. I'm still doing Vah Medoh (flying Divine Beast). I don't want to head to the Gerudo Desert yet.
As for Google, I tell you this: when you type something in specifically, you don't always get it no matter how you phrase a question.
TvTropes may ruin your life, but at least you can get the damned answers you want when you ask. You guys are more reliable.
One Strip! One Strip! On the east slope of Satori Mountain, just up the hill from the road, is a glade with a few copies of every useful herb. Since I didn't want to go to the desert either, I got all my Warm Safflinas by collecting the three that are there, waiting a few in-game days for them to respawn, and repeating until I had enough. I set the radar to detect Safflinas, warped to the shrine on Satori, and glided toward the spot to see if it pinged; if not, I warped out and came back later.

Ah. So that's where I got it. Thanks.
One Strip! One Strip! Here. Just replace the item name with anything else you're looking for in the game and it'll pull up what you need.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I know how to use Google alright.
I just trust this place more. If no one had known, I'd have tried it then.
One Strip! One Strip! Also. Four great fairy locations and costs (think you know this, but rupee cost goes up with each fountain found, location doesnt matter, this is just for informative purposes).
1) Necluda, north of Kakariko Village, 100r.
2) Akkala, straight east of Dah Hesho shrine, 500r.
3) Tabantha, south-southeast of Tabantha Tower, 1000r.
4) Gerudo Desert, absolute southwest corner beneath Gerudo Great Skeleton, 10000r.
Qui odoratus est qui fecit.Wow. That last one is nutty. 0_0
Don’t these guys know Rob is cheap? Taking $10,000 from me?! What the hell game?!
One Strip! One Strip!Fortunately, there's a shrine right next to that last Great Fairy location (in fact, as I recall, it's the Great Fairy Fountain closest to a shrine, so it becomes the easiest to warp to once you have it), so even if you don't have 10k in rupees stocked up (start throwing snowballs and selling meat, good troper), you can at least easily get back to it once you have the cash.
Also, apropos to previous comments, there are several of the anti-weather plants (heat, cold, and lightning, as I recall) that grow around said fountain, so you can also farm materials there.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Yeah, the amount of rupees it takes to awaken a Great Fairy depends on how many Great Fairies you've already awakened. If you visit the Gerudo fairy first, she'll be only 100 rupees. Likewise, the level of upgrades a fairy can do depends on how many of her sisters you've awakened.
The Gerudo fairy has warm, cool, and electric safflina growing around her fountain, plus the usual Silent Princess flowers and Endura carrots.
There's a sandstorm in the area which dies down once you clear the shrine next to the fountain. My strategy is to rent a sand seal, point the sand seal toward the southwest corner of the map, and try to keep a straight line as I enter the sandstorm.
(The Gerudo fairy is my favorite because she has the funniest dialog. "I set a new deep-dive record!")

Or... "Apparently, sleeping underwater was not a good idea."
You can drown in the fairy fountains. That's an embarrassing way to go. Also, why are the fairies in this game so..... so weird? No previous fairies in the Zelda games ever.... did weird sex things to Link, did they?
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youNo. No, they didn’t. Nothing that blatant. There might’ve been a bit of flirting at most, but I don’t really remember.

That might be because, in my experience, how it's used differs by community. Some fans use it as an insult, others as basically an admission that If It's You, It's Okay.
You say I am loved, when I don’t feel a thing. You say I am strong, when I think I am weak. You say I am held, when I am falling short.
