the fact they left him out of the Lostbelts opening movie is actually something I didn't notice before

also stuff that actually belongs in Holmes is weird, Zeus curses him because his eyes are enemies of the world (this is just an extension of the trial quest stuff but still) and he declares that Koyanskaya is his natural enemy (wow what a dick move to Moriarty, Holmes :V)

Man the Chaos plot and Zeus's plan are dumb.

Current theory I've been seeing around that Holmes is actually Beast V L or R as a counterpart to Vitch.

Personal theory is that Holmes is somehow related to Imaginary Space, just because his jacket reminds me of Dark Sakura's dress. This is a dumb theory, I know, but better than that one Manaka thing.

I really wish Zeus' plan wasn't so similar to Lion King.

I mean, it is funny that the goddess of human origin who became so robotic and the mecha god who became very human independently came up with the same plan, but it's pretty repetitive.

For whatever that's worth, I don't get the impression that Zeus is ever really meant to be seen as the true Big Bad of this Lostbelt.

While the Lion King is the top dog of Camelot, Zeus feels like smoke-and-mirrors for the actual reveals.

And thinking about it, his plan sounds more like Alter AILA than FFVII, but I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who remembers that game exists.

The whole way the 5th Lostbelt is presented seemed to make Kirsh and Zeus a Disc-One Final Boss (or Disc Two, in this case) you go in, with the characters thinking this is basically the final battle, but then revelations happen and you know the game completely changed. Chaos was still really random, honestly, though.

I will give them this, "I want to preserve the accumulation of art and civilization that I presided over, which makes it worth preserving" is a pretty distinct goal from "I want to preserve the purest of souls before Earth's history is fully incinerated", so there's that.

Enphasis on "I".

Should we put that under Big-Lipped Alligator Moment?

Alright, Tianzhu is definitely helping. Managed to completely buy out multiple ascension materials today, I'll wait for the AP to go back later tonight (hopefully) and maybe go through one more thing of Tianzhu. Thankfully I earned enough grinding mats to still be left over with a lot once I'd bought stuff, so I don't have to do as much.

Yeah, despite how it suddenly pops up with little fanfare or buildup, it does have an impact on the plot and cast so it can't qualify for BLAM.

I got a phone upgrade (though not to my original one) and decided to jump into gacha games again. Playing A3, it's kind of interesting how the fact that characters don't address me by my name and the "player character" has a very strong presence as well as character ironically fixes my issues where I get disconnected due to my opinions not matching what the game expects of "me".

It seems making the ideal self insert is actually harder than just making a full fledged character. I wonder how my opinion of this game would be if they had just put someone like Turas realta Guda in it. Then again, the flexibility of the player character is what motivates a lot of fanart as well as makes adaptations interesting due to each writers spin on them and I like playing as a girl even if just in aesthetic. It's interesting to think about.

When you get down to it, Chaos is a living Diabolus ex Machina meant to serve as a Deus Exit Machina for Musashi and Romulus-Quirinus. Think about it, Musashi, while not being a Grand herself, is still a very powerful Servant, one who was capable of attaining the Void, can Rayshift upon entering that state, and was able to cripple Ivan the Terrible and his Mammoth with just a single Void Slash. Romulus-Quirinus meanwhile is the Grand Lancer, and it was thanks to him we were even able to finally beat Zeus. Having either of them on our side full time would potentially risk making the next Lostbelt too easy for us, so they needed to enact a Drama-Preserving Handicap. Enter Chaos, an entity they can't kill, and requires Romulus to sacrifice himself just he can close that gate and recharge the Storm Border, and Musashi to become so synchronized with the Void she practically erases herself from existence just to seal the damn thing away. Chaos' only real purpose is to make sure the next two Lostbelts are still challenging for us.

I think the Diabolus ex Machina was to avoid us having anyone too competent with us for the Kirsch fight. Imagine if we had more superhumans around completely unable to react to Beryl. Like damn Caeneus, how do you miss that?

Competence is the enemy of drama.

They'd already implied With Goetia-Roman that she was going to be sacrificed long before the battle was over. As there was theee Lostbelts and a unrevealed dot left, that pretty much states it was going to be Olympus.

You could give poor old Zeus the honours of doing that. Guy couldn't even die memorably before getting upstaged by the Chaos mess.
