I'll likely pick up the director's cut for a rewatch before S2, but a list of notable changes would be nice too. I'd rather not have to watch the capital arc again if I can avoid it...
It's been fun.The Capital arc saw the most additions.
Re Zero is popular enough hopefully someone makes a video about the changes.
Although it would likely get copyright striked.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobYes, Interlude 1 is included in the final episode of the Director's Cut.
"It's just like... a series of overlapping curses." - Flower Knight DakiniI was looking for this as well and found one here.

Knowledge is Power, Guard it Well/skims though that page
Okay, it doesn't look like there are any particularly important changes. They're almost all the kind of thing you wouldn't even notice had changed unless you watched the two versions side-by-side.
Except the for the fact that last episode has a 4-minute long new scene added. That's pretty important.

"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."(See's the new scene)
Whelp, time for the internet to burn starting with S2 in July.
Watch SymphogearLet me guess, it's the new scene where Subaru talks to Emilia about a triad with Rem?
It's been fun.a good (spoilery) review of Re:Zero by AH Brandon Anime Reviews:
So if I decided to start watching this show, should I go with the Director's Cut or the original?
Director's Cut
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistI mean. The director's cut is the technically superior version, but the versions aren't different enough for it to really matter. So really it depends on how you feels about 24 half-hour episodes versus 12 one-hour episodes.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."Oh lord, they're really going for that moment!
It's been fun.I was hesitant to post about it until more information came out, but there's yet another Re:Zero game coming out subtitled The Prophecy of the Throne. It's coming out on consoles and Steam and looks like a strategy game like Fire Emblem.
The story starts after Arc 2 and quickly goes way off the rails because the Royal Selection is postponed due to a mysterious sixth candidate surfacing. Because there's only supposed to be five, Emilia is suspected as being an impostor, and clearly Subaru won't stand for that. I have also read that there might be yet more IF routes in this game.
"It's just like... a series of overlapping curses." - Flower Knight DakiniThat lady in the black dress gives me the shivers, you guys...
Is there a particularly significant reason why she looks like Emilia's evil twin sister?
By all indications, she's the Witch.
It's been fun.One thing I just want to touch on is how funny it is to me that the only point in time for the video games to adapt is right after Arc 2 because that's the breather period. However, Death or Kiss uses characters from Arc 3, but for the most part ignores the Selection, Julius's fight with Subaru, and still has Rem around, making it sort of the video game equivalent of a Non-Serial Movie. And now Prophecy of the Throne's story has to go in a completely different direction to still have characters up to Arc 3 while not sacrificing gameplay.

"It's just like... a series of overlapping curses." - Flower Knight DakiniSpeaking of, the 6th candidate has been revealed, Melty Priestess.
"It's just like... a series of overlapping curses." - Flower Knight DakiniWhat an unfortunate name.
It's been fun.Well, she's not the first Melty in an isekai vying for the throne.
"It's just like... a series of overlapping curses." - Flower Knight DakiniMelty Priestess sounds like a Melty Blood sequel.
So... I haven't been bothering to watch the new version. Have there been any significant differences? I know to except a difference in the ending tomorrow, but has anything else been changed in ways that matter?
