They are not gonna be lazy about it I mean. As in they won't hold back in showing how horrific his injuries are gonna be, and considering how much he hurts himself in the series, that's gonna be hard to watch.

I started following this last week and I'm enjoying it a lot. It seems like it has the creativity and expressive style of One Piece but more moderate, and like it might have an interesting cast on par with Naruto, hopefully without the filler and other stuff. And overall, it just seems more relatable than either. I really like Izuku. I wanna hug him. That's very refreshing in a shounen protagonist. Plus, there's gonna be Tsuyu next episode, so things can only get even better.
Speaking of Izuku, what's up with the nickname "Deku"?
(Also I was so cool with the fact that the first awesome hero we are in action is a tree dude. Only problem I have with that is that I wanna be the tree dude!)

His name is written 出久. The first kanji is supposed to be pronounced "Izu" (only in names, afaik), but is usually pronounced elsewhere as either "De" (on its own generally) or "Shutsu" (in composite words with other kanji). Hence Deku.
There can be more than one Tree Dude. One of the running gags later on is that two characters with nearly identical quirks keep running into each other.

The past 4 episodes have been 1.5 chapter. Episode 5 looks to have chapter 5 and maybe some of 6.
I don't know how they're going to end it on this arc with this pacing.
It was actually half a (large) chapter, the other half of said chapter, 1.5, 1.5. I think this next one might have all of chapters 5 and 6, given some dialogue in the preview.
@Hanabira: Well, now I feel silly. I actually paid attention to the names on the scoreboard and I was like "wow that's some non-standard readings there", and like an hour later I read "Deku" in this thread and wondered about it, but I didn't make the connection.
Also surprised to hear about the pacing. It didn't seem slow to me, but that might be because I watched the first three in a row. And maybe because I'm used to One Piece. But if they can pace it more slowly but keep it interesting, I'll take that over terrible filler at least.
