The reasoning is completely different, though, so comparing the two seems inane. Private transit is not a newfangled technology upending a traditional way of life.

The practical context is that he was on a field trip, and field trips kinda require public transportation knowledge. Although I'll note that Silasw's arguments are also the main issues with "school run"

CNA report from Singapore on the exodus of teachers deciding to leave in HK. Most blame the NSL since it gives them a hard time in teaching "to avoid" the redlines and how they feel forced to comply.

Regina Ip insists that some teachers violate the NSL on purpose...

This meant that the veterans who choose to leave over their frustrations with the NSL has some consequences with the new teachers recruited in the sense of not having mentors to teach them what to expect.

Been seeing videos on YouTube shorts about how kids in middle school are only able to read and write on a fourth grade level. And people I know in the education field say they’ve seen this.

Here’s the short in question.

[up][up] Specifically, for mandatorily increasing them for out-of-province students and international students and (if I understand correctly) using the money to fund francophone universities. It’s a deliberate measure to target and undermine Quebec’s English-universities, and, given that McGill is one of the best universities in Canada and the best one in Quebec, a serious biting-off-your-nose-to-spite-your-face move.

They’ve since dialed it back somewhat on the condition that most students at the anglophone universities have decent French skills by the time they graduate.

Texas will be using AI to grade open ended questions on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR, standardized tests being taken this week.

This won't backfire at all.
