There is a town you cannot get to by any normal means. You do not choose to go to it, the town does that for you. This town does not exist in our world, but its own. It does not have a name, but people who come across it know it by a nickname of sorts. "Dusty Village." This is the story of those unlucky enough to win a visit to this town.

Right now, a certain amount of those who were "chosen," for lack of a better word, are waking up. When they do, a look at their surroundings will reveal they are in what seems to be a gas station. There are no cars or vehicles of any kind outside, the store is entirely empty of items, and nobody is in the building itself except for the "chosen." Some wake up in the bathrooms, some wake up in front of the candy aisle, some even wake up behind the cash register.

They're finally waking up. Let's see what happens now...

Sylvester slowly regained conciousness, ugh, the hell had happend? One minute he was sipping some coffee with his wife and the next thing he could remember was... well this... whatever this was. Seemed like... a gas station of all things. He could see some gas pumps outside, some other folks here inside... and a head that never hurt more... seriously was he just hit by one of the AP sheels he shot in the past? Or did his old crew just used the tank to drive over it? Well luckily for him he had an Aspirine against the headache in a pocket of the vest he wore. Slowly he got up. "The hell just happend? Ugh my head feels as if a Panzer made a dance on it."

Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap...

Nikodim woke up to the sound of water. The room was definitely terrible, and water kept soaking through the roof. The walls were white and ugly.

It reminded him of his mother's apartment when he first came to live in it.

As soon as these two fellows get over their initial shock, they may eventually discover a cassette player with a tape already inside lying next to the cash register.

Nikodim notices the cassette player.

He puts the tape into the player.

It begins to play. "Hello? Anyone there? Well, if you're hearing this, you're probably in the same situation as me. You probably woke up here with no memory of how you ended up where you are now, much like me. I have bad news for you, though. It gets worse from here, way worse. It isn't easy to leave this town, and even if you do somehow manage to get over the initial boundaries... well..."

"AHEM! Anyway, I'm leaving this message here to let you know that even though this town seems empty at first, it's far from it. There's... these things. I can't describe them... you'll probably find out for yourself eventually, I'm sure. I've left tapes like these all over the town, so I suggest you keep the player. I won't need it anymore. Now, I probably won't be around for much longer for... reasons, so be sure to get as much out of the tapes you do find, and please be sure to stay safe. Welcome to Dusty Village, enjoy your stay." The tape cuts to static after that. End of message.

Sylvester looked at the guy that had played the tape "The hell?" He rubbed his head, it was still hurting but not really as bad now "Do you know what happend?"

Nikodim stares at it, entirely unsurprised, and it is unknown if he's scared or not.

"Fuck this." Nikodim says, shortly before grabbing the player and rising up from the floor.

Nikodim notices Sylvester.

"No."

A shadowy figure watches from nearby. It is within view, but it is too far to make out any details.

I hope Fiona gets here soon.

Another look around reveals the place is in shockingly good shape for being an abandoned gas station. It's almost as if no weather, animals, or wear/tear has touched it. The only difference between this and a not abandoned station is that there is no electricity.

"Sad." Nikodim mutters.

Sylvester looked around "Huh. Look, I don't know what you have in mind, but I want to get the hell away from this place."

"Me too. Name?" Nikodim asks, opening the door.

"Sylvester, Sylvester Lagunov, what about you?" He followed

"Nikodim." the man replied.

A man struggled to get up and was befuddled at his surroundings but remained calm. He peered around at the abandoned village a few feet away from him. The man also felt a searing pain on his sides. He wandered up to the village.

((Bump))

"So, are you leaving or not?" Nikodim asks of Sylvester.

"Can't see a reason why not, sure don't want to stay here for too long." He replied, he looked around a last time, but found nothing of use.

Nikodim leaves the room, leaving the door open.

Sylvester just followed for now.

"Weird. Lots of fog." Nikodim says.

The man outside the village walks towards the house with the people inside.

The man struggles to stand, resulting to collapsing into sitting against a wall of a building. "Ugh...where am I anyway....."

Nikodim's vision is too bad to notice the man, but at least he hears something.

"Hello?"
