The problem is I first thought of the other trope, where a person puts a finger in a dyke, barrel etc to stop it leaking. Corked Gun better than Corked Barrel. since do we want people putting images of barrels with corks in them on the list? (they will, you know.)

At this point in time, I'm just wondering if it would be better to create an entirely new trope page, or to re-jigger Finger in a Barrel.

Poor OP. Created in the broken lock period. Locking. If there is misuse, recreate this with a better OP.

I think that the trope Finger in a Barrel should be renamed to something like "Corked Barrel" or "Corked Gun" because the title is too specific. It refers to an instance in which someone shoves a finger into a gun barrel to stop it from firing, yet there are many legitimate examples where a gun has failed to fire properly because of obstruction by an object, and not an appendage.
Similarly, I feel that the trope could subsequently be expanded, following the proposed change to the name.
