Sadly, some people fail to separate reality from fiction. Jake Lloyd suffered a similar fate due to this type of thing.
I think the Riverdale fandom skews quite young as well.
At least a lot of posts/content from bits of the fandom I've seen come across as pretty immature.
Which I think explains the poor decisions to a degree. A lot of fandom spaces can be very echochamber-y when it comes to opinions. And I can see younger fans being influenced into joining in on a bandwagon very easily, not fully realizing the harm they're doing.

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobThis isn't even the first time the Riverdale fandom did this either.
Vanessa Morgan got death threats when the showrunners teased that her character might be in a love triangle with Bughead.
Just saw the episode...so is this our confirmation that this and Chilling Adventures takes place in the same universe? Are we dealing with resurrection?
CAOS mentioned Sweetwater River in one of its episodes.
So that finale was kind of bad. Really bad.
For one, the Alice twist makes zero sense and was obviously decided at the end of the season. And in real life would could as child abuse.
Also not a single women at the brothel did as much as google Penelope's name and try and make some cash off the fact the very sensationalized murder victim isn't dead?

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobThat finale was confusing.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. So Edgar isn't Charles Smith, but Charles Smith is an FBI agent! And what's Cheryl doing with Jason's dead body? And what was up with that ending time skip?
Also, Chic is the Gargoyle King!
“Kevin’s father is a lawman.” Um, no he isn’t Cheryl. He was fired remember?
Um, Archie, how are you and Reggie friends? You barely even qualify as acquaintances.
So... who was the original Gargoyle King? Who killed Principal Featherhead?
Please tell that flash forward was just Archie imagining the worse case scenario.
Of course Kevin got left behind.
So why didn't Alice just tell Betty she was undercover when Betty chloroformed her and locked her up in the bunker?
And what was up with the flying babies from the first episode of this season?

OG Gargoyle King is probably Penelope.
... What the fuck was that ending? Did they murder Jughead?
So Chic was the Gargoyle King, and it was all orchestrated by Penelope as some sort of baffling revenge scheme against...everyone.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.Apparently the writers decided the Alice twist sometime in the second half of the season, and didn't tell the actress until the final episode.
Given they said in the previous seasons the villain's identity wasn't fully planned until the back half of S1 and S2, I think its very likely the same happened this time with the GK.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobI swear this whole town just...the longer you live there, the worse its effects on you are.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.Probable ending of Archie and crew stomping on the gas and never looking back?
Wake me up at your own risk.Saw season 3 on Netflix. I think it is my favorite season yet, just because of the emotions I felt during both the Gargoyle King and The Farm story arcs. These showrunners really got what made cults scary and effective, and unlike last season everyone's reactions and decisions was a logical and emotionally resonant passage of events. I can't wait for the next season to get here.
That's really good to hear. Every time I saw him while watching Season 3 I was thinking about how much this show was going to miss him. He did such an amazing job as "Best Dad." The scene where he threatens to kill Hiram Lodge gave me Narm Charm chills.
I do have to admit, though, that there's not a lot of competition for being "Best Dad" in Riverdale...
Don't worry, I wiped my shoes before stepping into your echo chamber.A truly heartwarming episode and touching tribute to Luke Perry.
I worry there's going to be a tone dissonance for the rest of the season, like Archie won't act like someone who's father just died.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Weeks? Toni seriously put up with Cheryl keeping Jason's corpse around the house for weeks?
This show is so fucking bad now. The season got off to a decent start with an affecting farewell episode to Fred, but overall, the sheer stupidity of the show has finally caught up to me. All the serial killer gene bullshit just reeks of wanting to be edgy for the sake of it.
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyA corrupt politician named Donald? Somehow it just feels entertainingly tacky when Riverdale does it.
There's a reason 'fans' is short for 'fanatic'.
