Yeah, because it's a garbage video.
My various fanfics.I tend to feel that if it takes you 2 hours to make your point you probably aren't going to convince that many people. That's without me already being inclined to ignore the attention-grabbing "that thing you like is actually awful here's why!"
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Y'know, I've heard a lot of arguments against that video, but "Why you gotta be so thorough?" is a new one.

Usually the problem with videos that long (not all of them)...is that they end up being really repetitive.
That may be more of a problem with the person than the video, but the length tends to end up emphasizing that issue.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.You want to see for yourself? It’s posted.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Haven't watched the video (or SU, for that matter), but I'm inclined to agree with and . If it takes you over two hours to explain why a kids' cartoon is bad, you probably don't have anything that meaningful to say.
It depends on the type of arguments they’re trying to make, IMO. Some arguments have elaboration because they would be horribly unconvincing if you just give the “TL:DR” version.

Lily made a similar video about Legend of Korra, which I only remembered after I finished the Steven Universe one. I remember not liking that one too much because I felt like most of her points there where due to personal dislike of what Korra did instead of it being bad storytelling, per say. That's because I'm a fan though, so without that bias it's hard for me to find fault in her Steven Universe critique because it goes places that do make me question what this Sugar person was thinking before writing this kind of content.
I would watch it...but it's still 2 hours long.
The interest isn't there to see if a rant video of a show I watch isn't being repetitive about the points it's making.

I think we're getting off-topic. If we want to talk about Steven Universe, that should be in the Steven Universe thread, where you will find many good counter-arguments for everything in that awful and biased video.
"We're getting off-topic but this video sucks, by the way."
Edit: Not trying to mock anybody but the last line wasn't needed.

My various fanfics. It's also not the same as bad critique either.
Which is what this part of the conversation was sparked by: "if you talk too long, you're probably not saying anything good". Which is a ridiculous dismissal.
If you don't want to spend two hours on a video about a cartoon, sure. But just say that. Saying that it's length probably means that nothing of value is being said is inane.

Burning love!Gotta say, Lani's confident grin in the face of absurdity is glorious.
Huh. I wasn't really excited leading into this, but that did amuse me. Especially with Lani's role in it.
I don't get what the joke is with Zito though. He seemed pretty much his normal self.
Improving as an author, one video at a time.Just want to note, for those who didn't see the stream of episode 3, while this one makes the show seem just like their version of the office, it will be changing.
I hope Taka makes a cameo down the line.
Finally watched Unabridged for myself.
This just made me worried for everyone in the office XD Even though I know it's all scripted and whatnot. Except for Zito, since he just acts like himself.
Either way it looks like it has potential so far, interested in seeing where it goes.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.This was a pretty neat first episode. There were some gags that fell a bit flat but then others were great. Lani's the best part, just because of the sheer level of smarm.
Kaiser needs a bit more of a gag. Lani has an overinflated sense of importance, Kirran and Grant are the bumbling idiot side characters common to sitcoms, and Zito is casually terrifying. But Kaiser's thing so far is just excessive drinking, which happens offscreen and it's not really clear how it affects his behavior.
Kaiser kinda feels like he is also a Straight Man (ironic) in this episode. He comes across as a put-upon boss who's just had to become accustomed to this shit because this is his life. Hopefully he gets a bit more focus in later episodes.
Also, I died laughing at the squirrel attack at the end. That by far got the biggest laugh out of me for the entire episode. The boom mic was a lame joke, one of the weaker points of the episode, and I was right in the middle of thinking that going out on such a lame joke was not the best closer when BOOM, they Brick Joked the squirrel. That was great. 10/10, used a lame joke to set up a sneak attack Brick Joke, retroactively justifying the decoy lame joke in the process.

That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Kaiser is a pretty quirky person in Real Life, it wouldn't be that hard to translate that to his show counterpart. From what I've picked up from their streams, Kaiser is notorious for being horny on main more than most, and they could make something of him being a gay furry (and making the gay part more wholesome with the reveal that he's happily married).
Ew, I feel weird speculating about how to use real people's character traits to make their tv show counterparts more interesting and quirky, that felt uncomfortable.
Is it this one?
Steven Universe fans loathe this content creator because of this video.
