I think it's funny.
But yeah, it probably should change.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI'm just gonna go ahead and shill here since Abrams put a product from my city in the film: Hey kids, try Swamp Pop! They're pretty good!

Lafayette StrongWell we got a Superbowl Spot:
And the alternate reality game started for real several days ago. Tagruato's got a new webpage of their Employees of the Month for Feb 2016. And John Goodman's character Howard Stambler is in fact of an employee of them.
And his job involves working on satellites...Hmm
Following a name on his shirt: 'Radio Man 70' and typing it as a URL leads us to this website 'Fun and Pretty Things'. Which is just filled with some very interesting stuff.
Viewing the page source finds us this message:
And clicking on the image of the woman on the computer leads us to a password prompt which people figured out as 'Do you want to talk?' as some recognised the image as being from Pretty in Pink and found the scene the pic is from, in which Molly Ringwald is sent a message on that computer which of course reads 'Do you want to talk?' as for what's after the passcode, well see for yourself.
Hmm, and another pass phrase is required after that, if you try to talk.
Yeah, everyone on the subreddit is currently trying to figure it out right now.
When I first saw the trailer I was wondering if it was a Spiritual Successor to Maximum Overdrive or something. But this time, the cars are safe, but the houses are trying to kill us!
Saw it! (had the day off and caught a matinee to avoid the crowds)
Is a thriller for the most part, and the more mysterious elements of it are not resolved, aside from the stuff that the commercials spoiled.
It's never made clear what was up with Howard or the girl who went missing that he presumably kidnapped, whether he was in fact a monster who kidnapped a girl, kept her for a while in a bunker, and then dissolved her in acid, or what the deal was with that. It seemed like the alien's bio-agent didn't linger as fallout for very long, as the local wildlife had bounced back, though the movie doesn't say how long Michelle ended up in the bunker. Creepiest part was honestly when Howard cleaned himself up after offing Emmet, and watching the infected woman begging to be let in was frightening. Michelle being an Instant Expert on molotov cocktails to save her from the alien patrol was a bit contrived, but the movie was well assembled, a lot of hints and callbacks in there.
Actually The movie was really clear that he kidnapped this other girl and eventually killed her. His second kidnapping just happened on the same day as an actual attack happened. And the Air is obviously mostly okay, but you need to be careful not to get directly sprayed with the stuff. That's what the woman meant with "they only got me a little bit". Kind of like the acid, once you have it on your skin, it is too late for you. The Molotov cocktail, well, I can let that pass.
Just saw it there. I'm surprised looking up some reviews that they describe the ending as anticlimatic. I thought the last 10 or 20 minutes were the best part of the film and quite thrilling: I liked it took a complete swerve into something unpredictable. And they made Michelle pretty badass, she got the hazard suit on fast as soon as she saw the gas, she BLEW UP A SPACESHIP, and then not five seconds after hearing a radio request for soldiers and medics to fight the aliens she's just learned about does she decide "Yeah, I've seen combat" and decide to go help instead of to safety. Bad. Ass. ending. I actually applauded. Overall the film was decent. It was In Name Only as a sequel though.

DumboWhy are we spoiler texting? Eh, when in Rome. It wasn't necessarily an In Name Only sequel. It's a thematic sequel. It's not in the same continuity as Cloverfield but it still shares a lot of its concept: namely, that it's about the little people on the ground while a big-budget AAA action movie is happening offscreen. The key difference is that it's an alien invasion happening to random civilians rather than a Kaiju battle. Cloverfield's set itself up as a horror franchise about the extras caught in the crossfire of effects-driven blockbuster flicks who typically aren't given a second's thought.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I did hear they had a proper Cloverfield sequel planned, with ideas about what the adult creature would be like, and I was very curious to see that. Is that information anywhere out there now, since they've said they aren't making a sequel?
I've heard that's what 10 Cloverfield Lane was originally planned as before they decided to go a different direction.
They're working on a third movie in the franchise right now. Like 10 Cloverfield Lane, it won't be in continuity with what came before. From what I've heard, the film stars a group of astronauts who are on the moon when suddenly the Earth disappears.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.So did anyone catch that surprise announcement about Cloverfield Paradox?

To be clear, its on Netflix now.
I just watched it. It's pretty cool. There is stuff about it that bugs me though, the premise doesn't explain the phenomena that showed up.
I should really watch 10 cloverfield lane at some point.
I wouldn't even call it an 'announcement', it was just like,"Here's this thing" and they plopped it onto our collective kitchen table.
I'll watch it when I have a chance.
So I just watched The Cloverfield Paradox.
...I didn't seen any answers man. I didn't see ANY answers.
One Strip! One Strip!
It should, sure. I was debating whether to call this thread that or write "Cloverfield 2" and then lost attention for a bit, hit send, and ended up with both of them.
