I noticed a recent edit to the Deader Than Disco/Anime page saying that the Yu-Gi-Oh anime is now this trope, which isn't shared by the general internet community or the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom as a majority.
Looking at the DTD page as a whole, as well as its uses on YMMV pages, it seems like a lot of the examples are used by people to say that a work is unpopular or outdated without really having or presenting proof of it.
It's also really nattery in general.
