Chise - Grocery Grove

I had no idea what was really going on at this point, but the little girl showed herself to be really fierce as she began making a speech towards the man in armor that at least did give me a better idea of what was happening. Still, this whole thing seemed to be really pointless and since the lady who was supposedly his enemy was gone, there was no reason to keep this going further.

"Everyone else got away and is safe now, there's no reason for us to stay here, so why fight him?" I asked everyone, in part because I didn't want to be caught in the crossfire once it started, as it seemed I was the only one there who couldn't fight, "Let's just leave and go somewhere safer before those dinosaurs come after us again."

Marcus explained that he wasn't going to stand there with his arms crossed while a danger . Rex could see his point—he certainly wouldn't think twice about dealing with rogue EVOs or even Van Kleiss himself if they showed up in the city—but for some reason he felt Marcus wasn't planning on giving Kelsey the psychological help she needed.

"She needs a therapist, not getting stabbed with a sword"

Caro's powers and Eve's and the robots' attacks proved ineffective against Marcus who simply advised everyone to stand down or they would follow Kelsey's example. Apparently, this Kamina guy—wasn't that the guy that tried to hit on Mel?—didn't understand English or something because he and his buddy decided to attack the supersoldier. Now things were going south fast. Chise pointed out that continuing to fight was pointless since Kelsey was out of Marcus' reach.

"Yes, listen to the girl. We don't need to fight!" Rex yelled out both at the spiral bros and Marcus. But it was probably pointless. Marcus was too obsessed with killing Kelsey and chances were he was going to brand the two robots as heretics now. Unless... "I lied, ok? They are at the library!"

Ciri - Library

"Witcheress," Ciri clarified to Ben, sheathing her sword once more and hopping off the desk to follow him as he approached Cole. "A witch is a village magician, a Witcher is a slayer of monsters."

"You know Cole as well?" she added.

Cole's face fell slightly when Jack explained why they couldn't stay, followed by Ben's approach, and explaining as well that there were people out there who might need to be protected. "Crestfallen" was really the only word that would fit.

"...yes...that...that makes sense..." he said softly, nodding somewhat, looking down at his hands as he sort of fiddled his fingers together. "If it is dangerous outside today then people will need you all to protect them from whatever is out there."

He hung his head a little more, looking to the side, before looking back at Ben. "I should let Tairee turn me back and have my powers so I should help, shouldn't I? That is the more important thing right now."

Ben nodded at Ciri. "Yeah," he replied. "I've known him for a while now. He's like a little brother to me." When Cole expressed his opinion, Ben sighed and knelt in front of Cole, putting his hands on his shoulders and shaking his head.

"No, Cole," Ben said calmly. "You shouldn't feel pressured like that. You asked for Miss Tairee to remove your powers and make you a kid. You're safe here, Miss Tairee is taking care of you and the other kids," he explained. "Like I told you yesterday, you should make your own decisions in life. If you want to stay here you shouldn't feel bad about that. If you want to go out and help people, you shouldn't feel bad about that either. I decided to go out and help people so as soon as the watch cools down I'm gonna head out again. I need to keep everyone safe, that includes you, Cole..."

Lewis - Balcony - Photo Op? Photo Op

I'd practically known the answer before he said it, but having it confirmed to me didn't hurt. That was the thing with having parents who cook for a living; you learn about burns, and cauterizing causes burns, and burns lead to infection if they're bad enough and you don't keep them clean.

A blindfolded...teen...? then approached with a medium-sized machine at its side, offering bandages as well as some kind of staunching gel. Thank god for that. Though..."What's with the blindfold?"

On a less important note...

I glanced around, trying to see who was still here, and if any of them were a certain lawyer and medium that had formerly been riding a dinosaur. And indeed I found them a short distance away, and wondered if I could get them on camera.

"You there! Guy who's either Phoenix Wright or a guy cosplaying Phoenix Wright! Over here! And you too, may-or-may-not-be Maya."

Arcade was pretty relieved when he was offered the supplies. He gave 9S a grateful smile and started to get to work on the wound. At first he tried to use his injured hand, but that caused him to let out a hiss of pain. He was able to follow the instructions with little trouble after that.

He shot a withering glance at Lewis when he asked the irrelevant question about the blindfold. It turned into a full on glare when the ghost started yelling at someone. "Don't you think they'd prefer to talk to you without having to yell over the entire group?" he asked, sounding like a put-out teacher during the last class of the school year.

Shinji Ikari | Library, the Center of the City | You were (not) distracted (aka The player was distracted by fanfics. Again)

To say the least, with his groggy state, everything moved so fast that he barely had a chance to take stock and react. The only reaction Shinji had was just a blink. Then he realized the brothers left without him because Kamina was being his boisterous self and Simon didn't want to be left behind. Or maybe he didn't want Kamina to go by himself. Either way, the result was the same, he was now alone and try as he might, he felt a little hurt they just went up and left, even if was for a good, and rather noble, reason, to helo people from getting hurt. Though the blue dinosaur creature leaving then coming back very quickly certainly didn't help his beffudlement. Then the creature was covered in light for a moment to then reveal the boy he saw yesterday sitting on one of the couches, except in different clothing.

For a while, he sat on his futon thinking on what he could do. He had wanted to join with the brothers, yes, but with Unit-01 out of power, that was unlikely, even more so if he heard some of the words of those present properly. And he couldn't really risk fighting like that, could he? But he had promised to not run away. He sighed. So much for that. He sighed and looked around again. Maybe some breakfast was in order first.

He stood up and with practiced precision folded his blanket and place it on one of the couches. Then he put aside his futon, making it stand against same couch, doing the same with Kamina's and Simon's and their blankets. After getting his snowglobe and making sure he still had his chopsticks, he also noted of maybe getting some kind of bag from Miss Tairee. Speaking of whom, he went up to her, a bit shyly as usual. But even though her state of dress was...like Yoko's, except not as bad, he didn't have too much of a problem. He had lived Misato after all.

"Um...excuse me, Miss Tairee? Can I have some breakfast...?" he said, a bit unsure as it felt it somewhat inappropriate at the thought of eating in a library. "Something...uh..." He gave it some thought. "...like fish, but uh...not too many? And...a bag for these?"

He lifted up the two objects he meant to store. Another thought occured to him and he decided to get out his SDAT player too.

Balcony - Oh, what the hell

Alright, goddamn. This day had just kicked itself to the curb to wait for itself to be run over, and instead what happened was that 9S had now met something that resembled a skeleton, but with a suit and what looked like a giant dollop of some kind of neon pink matter that could only be called hair for the skeletal lifeform.

He had seen things, such as a machine lifeform forming a cult, or a head that seemed to be unidentifiable but could still roll on its own and even drive around its own vehicle remotely... somehow, but he was now standing next to a suavely-dressed skeleton with poofy pink hair. "...They're goggles. Combat goggles," he said, as he stared in a mix of desensitization and shock.

Ow!

Eve pushed herself off the ground where she had been lying, muttering quiet "ow"s under her breath the entire time. Her injuries weren't life=threatening, but they were painful. Faced with bad but not critical injuries, her nanites got to work, faint golden light surrounding the small cuts and burns, and brighter light around the back and ribs. She hobbled, but didn't limp towards the long grass, glad that she hadn't been shifted away. Ow. Ow. Ow.

As soon as she entered the long grass, she became awre of a sense of movement around her. Well, there went subtlety. Pulling out her blades, Eve began to carve herself a path back into the grove, and if any raptors got caught in it, there wasn't really a loss. The path was about two metres wide, and began from her entry. After killing a coupe of raptors that crossed the path, the others began to avoid it, seemingly aware that it was her turf, not theirs.

She got into the grove, having cut a fairly neat path. She seemingly ignored the others, casually leaning against a tree, looking at Marcus.

"What would killing Kelsey possibly achieve? She'd respawn elsewhere, entirely fine. It wouldn't get rid of Chaos' influence. You'd have better luck dragging her to therapy."

There was a whole lot going on that Phoenix was getting a bit overwhelmed. He pulled Maya with him as he left the crowd while all the commotion went on, deciding to ignore the other two unique arrivals before anyone noticed-

"You there!"

Phoenix froze mid-step, a couple feet away from the group already. He slooowly put it back to the ground. "Drat. Almost got away." He looked over his shoulder at pretty much the only person it could've been: the giant pink fiery skeleton. Of course it was. He raised a hand in a weak greeting. "Y-Yes. I'm Phoenix....."

Maya stuck her hand in the air as well, more enthusiastic than Phoenix was. "And I'm Maybe Maya!"

Seeing Cole's face drop, Jack felt like he might have made the wrong decision. But, he couldn't go back on it, especially not when he did have to go looking for more children. And... the Guardian had to admit that the idea of bringing his fellow spirit along to help was tempting, but one look at his reaction to the idea made it pretty obvious that would be a cruel idea.

Crouching down, Jack brought himself level with Cole and smiled gently. "Hey, no need to be down. Like I said, I'm just going out there to look for people to bring back here. There are plenty of other people who can fight. I'll be coming back here as soon as I can."

The spirit went silent to let Ben talk, harboring some worries about the young boy's words. The fact that he still felt like he needed to save everyone was worrying, and wouldn't end well. As much as he himself wished the same, the years had taught him that was sadly impossible. Especially for one person. Still, what he said was mostly right. Jack nodded and smiled at Cole again. "Ben is right. It's not if you should help, it's if you want to help. It's a long story but, I do it because it's just who I am and what I want to do." He placed a hand on Cole's shoulder. "There's nothing wrong with you staying here. No one will think less of you."

"I would hate to interrupt, and its seems as though you boys could use a moment to catch up - I think I'll get Yoshika and head out, we can see you later," Ciri said to Ben, before stepping away back and towards the jiangshi.

"Well then, just like we practiced," she said to Yoshika, getting ready to move out. "I'll be right by your side, and if it feels as though it's too much for you to handle, I'll bring us back here. And remember, draconids are weakest in the wings. If you can score blows on that delicate webbing, killing it becomes far simpler."

Lewis - Balcony - Tfw the noobs stare at you

I gestured for the lawyer and his friend to come over, noting that the former was uncomfortable and that, for some reason, Arcade took offense to me shouting across the crowd to get someone's attention. "What?" I threw my hands up. "I don't have their numbers or anything, I needed some way to get their attention. Though I guess if you have everything you need..."

In retrospect I probably could've just gotten up considering this whole situation had been taken care of. Of course, knowing my luck they'd leave with her while I was preoccupied, but who was going to take that for an answer.

"Anyway, thanks," I said to the kid with the robot, who clarified that the 'blindfold' was actually a pair of...goggles (maybe he just didn't have a better word for it)...while staring. The lack of visible eyes didn't give a clear indication as to at what, but with the way his head was turned he was probably making eye contact with me...Then his robot decided to state the obvious, before the boy shut him up on those grounds.

"If you're going by looks, sans isn't...never mind." I muttered uncomfortably, more to myself than to them. "You uh, look like you're new here. Should I...?"

I got cut off by Morty coming over to say hi. "Uh, no, not at all," I lied, appreciating the distraction. "H-hey again, Morty. Something up?"

Jungle

There was a crashing noise just ahead of Digger and Crash as a massive horned face shoved aside a stand of tree ferns, the way a snowplough might contemptuously shove its way straight through a mound of slush. Somewhere along the line, its owner had saw fit to fashion a crude set of reins - two long pairs of tough vines wrapped around its side horns, leading back to Rick, who was holding the reins in one hand and mirthlessly slugging back another round of alcohol with the other.

He blinked and stared down at the two marsupials, tugging on the reins and bringing his steed to a halt. "Hey, y-you," there was a snort from his dinosaur as it glared at the two mammals, "You see a - a human kid, oh about *urp* yea high, brown hair, yellow shirt, got kinda a - a -"

Rick's dinosaur steed snorted a bit as it lowered its horns and eyed the two mammals with one crusty yellow eye. Impulses in its tiny brain flickered and translated into a resentful, rheumy glare. The dinosaur shook its head and lowered its horns, and -

"No! Bad Roger!" Rick yanked on the reins; Roger snorted but did nothing. "Bad! We don't *uuuuuurp* w-w-we don't stomp on mammals! Mammals are friends, Roger!"

"Sorry. Look, he - his name's Morty, he's ye high, brown hair, got kind of a - a really annoying voice... you see anyone of that description?" Roger, in the interim, had turned his attention to a stand of ferns, placidly munching away.

Arcade was not pleased when Morty joined them, he wanted to either do something productive, or be left alone. His arm was throbbing now that the adrenaline wasn't pumping, he was still uncomfortable in such a large crowd, he had no idea if Eve was still alright, and he hadn't exactly worked out his issues from the day before. Eve helped, but only when she was there to be a comfort. He stared blankly at the wound for a second when Morty asked if he was interrupting.

"Oh, no of course not," he said, his words dripping with sarcasm, "I'm just trying to apply medicine to a woman who just a few minutes ago was screaming for blood and might wake up while I'm trying to heal her. Why don't you two just have a friendly chat right here, that's not distracting or anything."

He continued applying the medicine as he spoke. It was lucky that Kelsey was still unconscious, as Arcade's hands were not gentle as he tried to work. He didn't notice that the fight with Kelsey caused his bandage to become slightly undone, causing blood to start dripping from his arm onto the paper beneath him.

Reaching into her magic bag of thumbs-up, Yoshika presented a big, USDA Grade A Premium one for Lucas to have. "Don't worry, I'm good at protecting people, too. Seiga's not dead yet, right?"

And then, raising her axe into the air again, this time absolutely certain that she was not missing anything, she responded to Ciri's call to hunt dinogons the only way she knew how: loudly.

"YES! I'm gonna figure out what a dragoin tastes like today, Ciri!"

As was expected of her, she ran out the library's front doors without any prompting. Towards danger, arms raised, and yelling loudly to attract enemies. That's just the way Team DaiMiyako rolls.

No sooner had he picked them up when Ciri and Yoshika were ready to head out. And head out Yoshika did. Sure, she had proven herself to be incredibly powerful, but Lucas had seen where hastiness led people. It would be a bad idea to risk losing track of her. Last time someone he knew recklessly charged off to fight a dinosaur, it didn't exactly end well. Lucas would follow Yoshika as best as he could.

"Shouldn't we get the rest of her armor off?" one of the militia members asked Arcade, motioning to one of the gashes left by the chainsword into one of Kelsey's legs.

"Get the rest of it off of her anyway. It'll be easier to deal with her again if she wakes up that way" Samson told him, then looked at Ratbag as though clearly trying to figure how much of a threat the orc or the blindfolded boy with him could pose. "You two new here? You sound like it. Sorry, we can't roll out the red carpet right now" the militia member said to them, and gave a slight sigh.

"You're in another universe, things shift around while you're not looking, every day is different, if you die you'll come back to life, and right now we're trying to deal with big ass dinosaurs trying to eat everyone. That's the basics" Samson told them bluntly, though kept his tone of voice even and polite.

"This is the grocery team; we managed to subdue the Ruckus woman. Last we saw there was some of the heroes and Brother Marcus back at the grocery; we're not sure what's happening there now" the militia member on his walkie talkie reported to Wells. "We were planning on heading to HQ and dropping her off there along with the civilians. Please advise" he continued.

"You said you're at one of the balconies? In the faux taiga, correct?" Wells' voice asked in return.

"Yes sir" the militia member responded quickly.

"Affirmative, HQ is somewhere in that zone; that would be the best place to go in the short term. From there the civilians should be offered escort to the library, assuming it's even around today" Wells' voice then answered.

"Roger that. We'll move as soon as the Ruckus woman is stabilized; she sustained injuries fighting with Marcus" the militia member added.

"... She was fighting with Marcus?... Brother Marcus has been known to monitor this channel" Wells' voice then pointed out.

Samson overheard this and thought for a moment, then went white. He quickly grabbed his own walkie talkie. "Roger that sir, change of plans, we'll take her straight to the library where he can't fight us" Samson nearly yelled into it, then looked over at Arcade. "Doc', get her ready to move A-S-A-P; we're taking her to the hospital" the militia member informed him.

"But, you said-" one of the other militia members started.

"That was to lead Marcus down the wrong trail. If we take her to the library, that librarian will force us to give up custody. I'm not going to let that happen" Samson replied, cutting the other militia member off.

The Miss Tairee talking to Jack smiled slightly as he mentioned how much kids liked dinosaurs, but as the conversation with Cole went on, she frowned slightly. "Cole" Miss Tairee said, moving over and crouching down to be more level with the short spirit. "You're right. It would be right to go out there and risk yourself to help other people. But that doesn't mean that staying here would be wrong. I just want you to know that before you decide" the librarian told him.

Meanwhile, the one sitting at the central desks looked at Shinji. "Very well, hold on" Miss Tairee stated simply, and started typing. A bit later, some fire-cooked fish appeared in a blur on a nearby table, along with an animal skin bag.

She then turned her attention to Ben. "Sorry Ben, I can't today" Miss Tairee answered, and motioned at the sign about stone-age items or lower only, and books.

Leaving Home Sweet Home

"A bandicoot? Uh, well I meant non-humans I guess... Actually, never mind" John said, hastily turning away and continuing to walk as his tone got awkward.

Blue turned his attention back to his communication device. "I guess I should tune into the militia channel again and see if-" Blue's out loud thinking was cut off as suddenly a dinosaur popped out of the brush ahead of them with an elderly scientist riding it. John backed up and raised his rifle, Blue drew a sword that was like a straightened scimitar made of ice, and Veela raised her large wrench hammer defensively. All three quickly seemed to realize that it wasn't an attack though, and calmed down.

"Sorry, I don't recall anyone like that" Blue said sincerely with a slight shrug after Rick's question.

Grocery grove

Brother Marcus looked over at Gurren as Kamina made his loud proclamation and plenty of warning that an attack was coming, and thus promptly activated his jump pack again and blasted upwards to get out of Gurren's attacks.

However he did not seem to anticipate Lagann suddenly bursting out of the ground; though due to the angle and the sudden takeoff, Lagann didn't stab into Marcus' right leg, but rather grazed and damaged the armor of his left leg. This also happened to put Lagann nearly right into Gurren's attack path.

Brother Marcus landed a bit away, letting out a near growl in frustration, and placed his free hand on his holstered bolt pistol. But then he paused like that for a few moments. "You liar" Brother Marcus said in a low tone, pointing his chainsword at Rex. Then he seemed to turn his helmet slightly, towards Eve. "There is no room for leniency when it comes to Chaos. Her armor and weapons required removal before any purification could be attempted" the space marine answered her dryly.

He placed the chainsword away on his other hip, and he turned towards the edge of the grove. "Try to stop me, and you will die too" Brother Marcus warned them simply, then fired the jump pack again to clear over the tall grass in one large bound.
