Heatblast ran in front of Plague Knight. "No more explosive tests. I'm not going any more of those with you. You think this is just a game?! People are gonna get hurt. You hear me?" At that very moment, the Omnitrix whirred and blinked red, and then lit the area up with a bright flash of red light. Suddenly, Ben stood there in his human form. He turned back towards the catgirls. "Sorry, ladies," he muttered, then he sighed and shook his head. "Look. It's getting late. We should really get some rest. Perhaps we can find a way to get back to our own worlds soon," Ben muttered, stretching a bit and holding back a yawn.

Turning away from Plague Knight, he began to walk into the library. Ordinarily he would look for some sort of place to spend the night (if Miss Tairee had mentioned anything he didn't remember), but he was getting tired enough that it didn't seem to matter to him. Today was really a long day.

He climbed up the stairs and walked over to one of the corners of the library's 2nd floor, curling up on the floor and yawning.

"Quite possibly," replied Legion. "But what you create to fulfill the same purposes will likely be far different from what other species have created, like the humans, or turians, or Creators. Technology is not a straight line. There are many paths to the same destination."

Plague Knight did not have the heart to respond to Ben. Only a single day and already the boy seemed to have been emotionally worn out by everything today. He probably should talk to the boy tomorrow, tell more of his own story to him. For now though, he had some inquiries to make.

The Knight entered the diner. "Excuse, ladies?" he asked. "Is it too much to ask for some samples of fur and/or hair......?"

The Library

"Oh, sure, y-yeah." Morty pushed the book into Angua's hands; if she flipped through it she'd see that it was some kind of manual for building some kind of weapons - although the schematics were so dense and multilayered it would be a miracle if she could understand exactly what these weapons were supposed to do.

Rick's Lab

The kobold blinked blearily as Rick sewed the last stitch shut; apart from the copious amounts of liquid of dubious origin surrounding the operating table note  the kobold seemed to be in more or less perfect health. Rick stared impassively as the creature found its footing, then turned away.

"Alright, I-I-I healed you. Go *urp* get out of here, okay? Go back- go back to your magical lizard land or-or whatever." Rick chugged back another shot of alcohol and stared at the ground.

"I hope you're happy, whoever the hell you are," he muttered to himself. "You inspired yet, creep?" Predictably, no answer came. Undeterred, Rick sucked down another dose of scotch and turned his attention to another pile of electronics.

Click, whir. Rick shoved the crystal he'd stolen that morning into the bottom of another cobbled-together contraption he'd whipped up a few minutes ago. He flicked a switch... and suddenly the entire galaxy was in the room with him. Holographic planets and moons spun lazily in their simulated orbits, dwarfed by massive clouds of interstellar dust. Rick burped impassively and fiddled with his portal gun, hooking a few wires into the machine and squeezing the trigger. Suddenly there were two smaller galaxies overlapping one another- a few differences here and there, but almost identical nonetheless. Then there were four galaxies, then eight, then sixteen, then, in a few seconds, there were an entire curve of miniature galaxies spinning in the air; almost a million fingernail-sized holograms linked together.

Rick downed yet another hit of scotch, stared at the surreal scene, and punched a few more commands into his portal gun. At the other end of the room a tiny light flickered, completely divorced from the rest of the curve as could be.

"Goddammit," he muttered to nobody in particular. For once in his life, Rick didn't like being right.

Rex's description fitted with thousands of results. It wasn't suprising considering the quantity of information available.

Ben then entered the library after his little show with the Plague Knight.

"Hey, Ben stop. You where inside the guy's armor, right? Did you find useful information about him? I'm trying to look him up."

"Whatever were the intentions of those you had to fight, I assure you that my motives and methods are extremely different and more benevolent compared to them..." Viktor said to Ashe as he heard what she said.

Good... atleast she seems to be reasonable and wiser... compared to the idiotic Defender of Tommorow. Viktor thought to himself before standing up from his seat and hearing what Undyne said to the others about finding a place to sleep.

"While I no longer needs sleep thanks to my technology, I agree that a resting place will be necessary for all of you, and it also certainly help me find a place to create my Hextech laboratory without defiling a place of knowledge likes this. I shall also stand guard while all of you sleep if needed" Viktor said to the others.

Nearby the library

"You think it's some kind of funny joke to be throwing around bombs?!" the woman who yelled before continued to yell at Plague Knight, looking livid, "and now that you're done putting us in danger you're asking for bits of our hair!? Yes that's too much! Now get out of here jerk!" The yelling woman in question was practically almost human, brown skin, dark hair, yellow eyes with round pupils, and a modern 'city girl' outfit. The exception to her human-ness was that she had short cat ears on the top of her head instead of human ears, which were pinned back, and a dark furred tail that came out of her back, swiping around her feet.

The other three women behind her were all clearly unhappy with Plague Knight as well, though the nervousness mixed into their expressions and the fact that they were staying a bit behind her told that they had second thoughts about the prospect of yelling at the man who had just been flinging around bombs earlier. As mentioned before, each one seemed to be a slightly different variation on 'human but with catlike features'; one had long, pointy, furred ears where human ears would normally be, paws instead of hands and feet, and a tail; another was mostly like the yelling one, but with the addition of whiskers on her face, fur covering her hands, forearms, feet, and shins, plus claws in place of fingernails; the last had long, pointy, furred ears like the second, but they were higher up on her head, she had whiskers like the third, and as with all of the others, a tail. They were all dressed in different styles too, having an ancient Chinese style dress, a cowgirl outfit, and a slightly bulky spacesuit respectively.

Rick's makeshift lab

Once it was healed, the kobold sort of slid off the ad hoc operating table and scampered up the staircase without a word. Rick and Travis could hear it looking through and moving around debris upstairs, from where the space marine had crashed around earlier; they could even catch some glimpses of it if they looked up through the big hole in the ceiling.

After a few minutes, the kobold came back downstairs, a cloth bag tucked under one arm as it moved over to Rick. It paused to glance at Travis for a moment, eyes narrowing, but then looked back at Rick. "Look, uh... Thanks for saving me. Here," the kobold muttered, and put the bag on the counter next to Rick. The kobold then scampered out the front door and crossed the street to disappear into an alley. Inside the bag was a collection of gold pieces, marked with the head of a human man, or maybe woman, in profile on one side and an emblem of a bear on the other; there seemed to be a few over forty pieces in the bag.

Apparently the kobold did not yet realize how relatively worthless currency was in the city... Or perhaps it did, and this was its way of also offloading unnecessary weight onto someone else.

Rick's Lab

"Oh, *urp* didn't, uh, didn't see you there," said Rick in a bored tone of voice as he fiddled with a screwdriver, pocketing the gold the Kobold left behind without a word. "That little, little lightshow was just me trying to figure out just exactly how screwed we are on a scale of one to ten." He gestured vaguely at the holographic curve of galaxies on one corner of the room. "Right now, oh, I-I'd say it's at a solid 9.5." His eye twitched as he spoke. "Maybe, maybe a 9.7 if I'm, you know, feelin' generous."

"You see that?" he said rhetorically, pointing to the holographic curve of galaxies on one corner of the room. "Th-th-that's what I like to call the, the finite Rick curve. If-if we live in an infinite multiverse, then there's only a finite number of Ricks kicking around out *urp* th-th-thEEEEEEEEEEre." Rick wiped some of the accumulated spittle off of his chin as he spoke before downing another swig of alcohol. "Last I -okay, not 'I', but one of those asshole bureaucrat versions of me on the Council counted they discovered that approximately twenty-eight per-per-*urp* percent of Ricks had developed the capacity for dimensional travel along the curve. Shit gets messed up the further out you go." Rick thumbed another button as he spoke; the curve rotated downwards like a Ferris wheel. Beside each tiny model galaxy was the image of... most of these images were spitting images of Rick. A few had beards, or slightly different hairstyles, a scar or a facial blemish. And then there were odder versions scattered between these thousands of snapshots: an orange skinned cyclopean Rick, a robotic Rick, a Rick that resembled a pulsating mass of tentacled flesh and eyeballs.

"These guys *urp* these guys are all reeeeeeeal assholes, all of 'em." Rick muttered to himself. "You get to the edge of the curve and the Ricks barely resemble Ricks," he rambled. "Plus, you know, the farther you go along the curve, the more energy it takes, and no universe can provide enough, enough... Jesus Christ, I already explained this once today," he groaned, slapping his forehead as he came to the realization.

"Alright, and see over there?" If Travis investigated the tiny glowing light at the other end of the room, he'd see that it was a more-or-less accurate reflection of the city itself, complete with shifting buildings. "That's us. We're completely *urp* completely off the grid now. I was, I was j-j-just crunching the numbers to be sure. We're screwed, buddy. Get comfy and *urp* crack open your beverage of choice because Miss Tairee and her 'oh-so mysterious boss' are going to fuck us over so hard that we won't be able to... meta... melpha... m-m-e*urp*...

It was at that point that Rick groaned and slumped over at his workbench, a thin line of greenish-blue vomit trickling out from the corner of his mouth.

It was probably as close to sleep as anything else, to be honest.

The Library

"Oh, oh, jeez," said Morty as he listened to Angua's tale. "I mean, I guess, I guess it was a good thing I didn't go, huh?" He tapped his fingers together and tried not to blush out of embarrassment. "I mean, Rick, h-h-he said that you guys had, like, a bunch of sup-superpowers and stuff to take care of everything... yeah. Probably, uh, probably woulda just slowed you guys down."

Then there was a lot of doctor mumbo jumbo that I didn't understand at all." He sat up a bit to look Rex in the eye. "He also said something about an emperor... and space marines? With Gon's book, he found a curious book that had the title No Tears for the Dead.

In it, the Korean-American noted that the events in the said book ended on a sad ending when the Korean National Police Agency mentioned the disappearance of a Ventura Holdings associate over a week.

And according to a KNPA spokesman, they weren't able to find anything about her disappearance, so they were forced to close the case.

"Dammit."

Gon was frustrated with the book's content that he decided to leave. Right now, he needs to look for directions. Specifically for a place to crash for the night.

He only wished that he can maybe find a change of clothes.

She looked back at Viktor when he replied to what she said. Finishing one of her slices of pizza, she nodded.

"All right, if you say so," she said, remembering the siblings Prometheus and Pandora.

Her eyes looked distant for a minute. She hoped the two were resting in peace. The two suffered so much from the moment they woke. They deserved to rest.

I hope so, or I'm gonna personally get rid of you mysel—ow! Model A shouted as he floated backwards slightly from being slapped by Ashe.

"You're lucky he can't hear you, Model A," she said, scowling.

Hey! It's not like I have to like him!

Ashe just rolled her eyes and took another bite. She turned her attention back to Undyne and the teenager who introduced himself as Danny Fenton...who apparently had ghost powers.

"Good point," she said to his comment on Model A.

At Undyne's suggestion on finding somewhere else to sleep, she rolled her shoulder. Her head didn't hurt as much as it, but both didn't make her feel like moving anytime soon.

Another bite out of her second slice. "I don't think I'll be going anywhere. I'm still tired from that fight. I'll be staying here. I have slept in more uncomfortable places."

"You said you had a dream... That dream... Make it come true! ... If anyone can, it's you!" - N (shortened) Oh, and I'm a girl.

Night falling

Around the city, most people were starting to find sleep already by the time the sky was going dark; some went out before they even knew that the sky would go dark. It'd been a bit of a mystery, with there being no visible sun after all. Not all of them managed to find a bed, but they did just about all find somewhere indoors to rest; there was practically no need to sleep outside anywhere. Of course there was also residents who didn't need to sleep, but with nothing to really do to speak of they were mostly finding somewhere quiet to pass the hours of the night with something to do.

In the library, after it was well dark outside, Miss Tairee did a walkabout the library, finding the people who had chosen to simply sleep there such as Ben and Ashe. She paused upon finding the sleeping Ben in particular, staring at him for a few moments before sighing. "Jeez kid, you're gonna make me feel even worse about all this" Miss Tairee muttered to herself, activating her mobile hologram screen and starting to type in commands. She continued her walkabout, setting in a series of commands as she tallied up everyone who was sleeping in the library. After returning to her desk and running the commands, Ben and Ashe and anyone else sleeping in the library disappeared in the typical blur from where they were, and reappeared in sleeping bags in the lobby room.

Once finished with that, Miss Tairee walked outside and looked up at the blank, black sky, and sighed. "Really boss?" She shook her head, went back inside, and wrote a suggestion slip of her own before sitting down to type in some more commands on the machine. With one final blur, Miss Tairee disappeared.

As the night dragged on to nearly dawn, those who were awake would experience something strange happen. Time seemed to slow similar to how it happened when they were first dragged to the city, but it didn't stop completely this time; their vision blurred, but it did not go completely black. As it ended and their vision refocused, they would see that their surroundings had changed...

Somewhere...

There was the sound of a pen scribbling on paper. "Ah, that was a good first day, but I do feel like the stakes could be higher."

"Is that really necessary? There are children and other helpless people in there" Miss Tairee complained. More sound of scribbling.

"So those who are not will simply have to try harder. They are not alone in the city, so they should learn to work together."

"It still seems like you shouldn't have brought kids" Miss Tairee added. More scribbling.

"I couldn't discriminate in my selection." Miss Tairee stayed silent, but was still clearly unhappy. More scribbling. "You know they will be fine. Don't worry."

"Physically..." Miss Tairee muttered as the scribbling once again sped up to great speed and was accompanied by the sound of pages turning.

Day two, baptism of thorns

As the sky started to turn orange with dawn, the city began to brighten with the morning light. Those who were witness to the blurring would now see that the buildings they were in had all turned to wood. The outside between the buildings looked like a mass of jungle, the majority of which was large, thorn covered vines. The jungle plants looked extremely dangerous to try going through, especially since there seemed to be a few with mouths and... Maybe teeth too. However, it looked like there was a maze-like network of wooden paths connecting all the buildings, and the occasional glimpse of some kind of crevices that ran underneath; there was no plants in them, so maybe they would be easier to travel through.

Miss Tairee had not yet reappeared in the library, leaving those there to their own devices, for now. There seemed to be rain falling around the library; it was normal water, but it was joined with the occasional soggy piece of paper or clump of papers falling from the 'cloud' that was slowly drifting above.

After a restless sleep, Ben's eyes shot open and he sat up. Or at least, he tried to. He didn't know that he was now in a sleeping bag, so he struggled for a bit and THEN sat up.

Ben was groggy at first, but seeing his surroundings had completely changed, he blinked a couple of times and his eyes widened in confusion and shock. Was this a dream? What happened to the library?

He had secretly hoped that yesterday's events had been a dream of their own and he would wake up in the Rust Bucket alongside Gwen and Grandpa. But now, it seemed that everything was real, and it made him sigh in sadness slightly.

His missing his family was dampened a bit by the surroundings again. Everything was made of wood and there seemed to be a couple of vines making their way inside but everything seemed in the same place. He stepped towards the door, peeking out. He winced at the rain, but backed up and tried to get a better look from inside out of the rain. It looked like the city had been transformed into some kind of giant jungle. Ben looked around to see if anyone else in the library was up.

Viktor and the group decided to stick in the library, and while there weren't any beds at all in the library , but he didn't minded as rest was no longer needed for him.

While the others slept, Viktor was awake, walking around in the library, thinking to himself.

Now that I think of it.. my Acolytes and followers in Valoran must be distressed by my sudden disappearance. My plans to my most trusted men to follow my goal of the glorious Evolution in case something would happen to me will help... but it would also certainly be beneficial to enlighten the Glorious Evolution to all the people in these worlds and universes after all.. Viktor thought to himself, as he then walked to where the group was sleeping, he suddenly noticed than his vision was suddenly blurring, just like when he was teleported.

After a few seconds, his vision returned to normal and Viktor then noticed that the entire building... was now entirely made of wood now. As he peeked at one of the windows, he noticed that the entire city was now a large jungle and was raining , reminding him of the Kumungu Jungle back in Valoran. He found it necessary to wake the group from this.

Viktor went near those who were asleep and tapped loudly his Hex-core staff three times at the ground to wake up those who were sleeping.

"Wake up right now. It seems the being who kidnapped us has now decided to toy with us now and turn the city into a jungle" Viktor said.

After several more minutes Legion retreated from organic view to think and reflect. The geth had no need for sleep, and in fact could not sleep at all; however, that just meant it had more time to use. With no geth around to exchange thoughts and information with, Legion needed to think by itself for a little while.

Loneliness was a pain. The geth had a connection to the library over a dated, non-geth protocol, but that was all it had. There was nothing inside the library. There was nothing beyond this world.

Was there a way out? Could it even find one?

It meditated on this for a very long time before it noticed the same time-slowing effect from before began to take it over. The geth waited it out, and yet when time resumed... no change. Curious. Everything in the library looked the same. Had the geth been transported again, to some type of parallel universe?

It walked out into the main lobby to check, to find that there was no longer any "outside" - merely a mass of jungle and what appeared to be carnivorous plants. Wooden walkways lead between the now-wooden buildings.

"What has happened?" wondered the geth to itself.

"Alright, dad, I'm up, I'm up!"

But when Danny sat up he saw not his goofball dad, but the cyborg who had arrived in the city with the rest of their group.

"Oh, heh, morning Vic."

He hears what Viktor says about the city's transformation, looking at the now wooden walls and such, and heads towards the window to see that the city has turned into some kind of jungle. The city was flooded with fauna, with most buildings up in what seems to be trees linked by rough bridges. The sky was pouring down, with an occasional soggy sheet of paper here and there.

The Library

"M-morty! You gotta wake- you gotta get up, Morty!" Morty groaned and cracked open an eye as he saw the all-too familiar shape of Rick trying to shake his grandson awake.

"Wh...what? Rick, just let me go back to sleep, huh?"

Rick groaned and slapped his forehead. "Yeah, alright, Morty, go back to sleep. Go back to sleep on the wooden floor in the wooden cabin." He paused and let his condescending tone try to pierce Morty's sleep-addled brain. "The wooden cabin in the jungle, Morty. What's wrong with this picture?"

"Gee, thanks, Rick. Just let me..." Morty gladly closed his eyes and sunk back into his comfortable sleeping bag for a few seconds... until his grandfather's words really sunk in. Suddenly the teenager was on his feet, staring in confusion at the drastically transformed library.

"What the hell, Rick?! What's going on? Why is everything wood? Is-is that a jungle outside? I-I-I-"

Rick leaned back against the wall and stared out the nearest window to the primal vista beyond. "Oh boy, you finally figured it out, huh? G-g-gold *urp* star for you."

"Rick! Just, just tell me what's going on, okay?" Morty glared up at his grandfather as they walked through the doors and onto the balcony. Rick slouched up against the railing and tried to keep hi bloodshot eyes focused as he spoke.

"That's the thing about these kinds of universes, Morty," explained Rick as he fumbled for his flask. "Whoever makes them gets to make the rules, and it looks like this particular asshole wants to... w-wants to play hardball with us." Rick grimaced as he reached into his labcoat and dumped a small phial of pink liquid into his flask. The concoction hissed faintly for a few seconds; a thin trail of purple smoke wafted out of the top of the bottle.

"Well, at least, e-everybody we met yesterday is still here, huh?" said Morty, putting on a brave smile and waving at some of the other familiar faces milling around- he noted that all of them equally confused by this sudden transformation. "I mean, isn't there anything you can do to, you know, turn the city back to normal or something?"

Rick gazed out at the hostile alien jungle that had sprang up overnight, his face grim. A shimmering green insect the size of a small car scurried up one of the tangled plants, warmed up its wings, and launched itself out over the horizon. Rick sipped some hair of the dog and wiped his chin absentmindedly. "Pro-probably not. Not unless, you know, you got a few metric tons of *urp* weedkiller on you or something. I mean, this probably, this probably isn't your run-of-the-mill killer jungle anyway, Morty. Fire, weedkiller, these plants are probably just gonna laugh that shit off."

"I guess you could say that these aren't your garden-variety plants, huh?" Morty chuckled at his imagined wit and gently nudged Rick in the ribs.

"Shut up, Morty."

Agarth looked around at his new surroundings closer to see that he was in a jungle with wooden buildings. "I could have sworn that I haven't had a single drink in weeks, might as well go find someone else to see if I have finally gone crazy." Agarth said to himself.

A drawing of herself eating all the blue pizza. A drawing of the city outside. A drawing of the few people she'd met out there. A drawing of many things she wanted to do, and how she thought they'd be like.

Mary had spent the entire night sitting on one of the lobby's desks, drawing anything and everything she could possibly think of. Her original plan had been to go outside and watch the stars, but there weren't any of them in the night sky. Maybe they were somewhere else that night.

She had just finished her drawing of how she thought a snowball fight would be like, and was about to begin another one, when she noticed some people looking outside. Being the curious girl she was, she couldn't help standing up and heading over there to see what all the fuss was about.

"Hi!" she greeted, waving her hand. "What are we looking at?"

There were plants outside. Lots and lots and lots of plants. And water falling from the sky. Rain, wasn't it? She had seen some of that in her father's work, so she knew how it worked, but it was the first time she saw it for real. At no moment did she notice that the entire building was made out of wood. She just kept staring at the jungle outside and the water falling fr- there was something white. Something white falling alongside the water.

"...snow?" Mary wondered aloud, before turning towards the others. "Is that snow? The white stuff, is it snow? It's snow, right?"

YESTERDAY

"Ugh, fine! I shall leave you be! No need for the hostility!" Plague Knight, grumbling as he left. After leaving the diner, he soon realized he needed a place to sleep in. He decided against the library was all they had were chairs and desks, and that most of them might have been occupied by the others already. As he continued to search, his mind wandered back to everyone back home. He only found it mildly odd about the whole slow slowly down to a stop thing, and he knew the Potanarium would manage without him. What bothered him most was what Mona was trying to tell him before sucked into this strange world. He milled about what she said, trying to decipher it. She was clearly hiding the overt meaning, but for the life of him, he had no idea of the deeper implication......

His thoughts ended when he come upon a curious building with a hanging sign reading O'Neill's Pub and Restaurant. Plague Knight entered the establishment, finding it indeed some sort of pub, completely with a drink bar and various tables after entering the main room. There were other doors within the building, no doubtedly leading to other facilities, most likely including a kitchen. The knight trapped his chin. Until his request goes through to the mysterious God that created this place, this establishment would have to make due for a lab. A perfect clean slate with plenty of combustible chemicals to work with......

"Yes, I can work with all this......." he said. And got to work he did.

TODAY

Plague Knight awoke to the sound of a soft pitter patter. He awoke from the booth cushion he had slept upon, using a now useless phone book as a pillow. He navigated through the mess he made, with various alcohol bottles, containers of cleaning detergent, and pots and pans strewn about along with various other tools and equipment he found or outright fashioned himself. He soon came outside and immediately came face to face with a rather huge plant with eyes and a several mouths. He the plant stared at each other for several long seconds, regarding each other......

A beat.

The plant creature then slithered away. With the creature gone, Plague Knight was able to see out in the distance. Namely the landscape, and the very nature of the city, was transformed to that of a gigantic rainforest. The buildings were all now made of wood, there was constant steady rain, and the only safe means of travels were wooden walkways and rope bridges crisscrossing along the branches. "Curiouser and curiouser....." he said.

He immediately went back inside the pub to immediately work on a new concoction. It was at this point Agarth would come upon the building, the word "pub" most likely catching his eye.
