We're looking at day transition pretty soon. But I don't think you missed anything important other than Ben making progress on forming his Hero group and Miss Tairee getting inspiration from watching Rise of The Guardians to do a thing

Nothing's happened to Karkat, he's been left alone for the most part. Otherwise, in-game most people are settling down for the night.

And happy birthday.

Here now, fully recapped.

Belated happy birthday to Pro Trash!

Anyway, I'm gonna see about making a quick post for Sir Redring talking to Ben here; after that, I think my next main thread post may very well be the transition, but that probably still won't be until much later tonight.

Also, to take back something I said last night, I might actually go out to the grocery store sometime later to get some things.

I'm fine with transition basically whenever. I think "Where are we supposed to sleep" was the only question left for the night, others might come up later when she decides to find out what happened to her home universe when she disappeared. (Which might vary depending on how real Nemisis day actually is and how much it affects the PC's home universes)

Now I need to edit my post.

Day eleven, the guaranteed adventure

  • Characters are their usual selves.
    • Anyone who changed clothes during Day 10 are still wearing those clothes; they are not suddenly left naked. Their default outfit will be somewhere nearby them at the start of the day.
  • The city's usual shape is completely replaced with a sphere of water about 10 kilometers in diameter; said sphere has relative gravity towards the center, just like a tiny planet. This gravity is the same as Earth's normal gravity, despite the massive difference in size and mass.
    • The water is proper ocean saltwater now.
    • The "sunlight" and "moonlight" still come from straight above with no apparent source, no matter where on the sphere you are.
  • There are no islands or land mass of any kind, but there are still some 'land'marks on the ocean surface.
    • The balconies are now round stone platforms, impossibly floating on the water and immobile; they are spaced evenly around the center of the sphere, creating an "equator".
    • A minority of the buildings of the city are floating up at the surface, now as simple wood construction versions of their normal selves and generally having the technological level of the colonial era. This includes the library, which is at the exact center of the Northern "pole" relative to the balconies.
    • Most of the surface buildings, except for the library, have connections to a maze-like system of underwater tunnels and chambers, which is what the majority of the buildings in the city have become; the deeper down one goes in this maze, the more advanced the technology gets, starting with an industrial era steampunk style and topping off at a near future biotech style. However, it also gets more decrepit and run down the deeper one goes, with the occasional structural instability threatening to flood some chambers and sections with water if disturbed.
  • On the surface there are wooden boats docked at the surface structures available for anyone to take, and underwater some crude, small submarines docked with the underwater structures, but nothing with weapons.
  • Though not common, there are some spawned in hostile enemies that players may bring in and take control of OOC, much like Day 9's zombies. They are likewise able to be autohit and autokilled unless specified, though bear in mind they are not supposed to be as disposable and weak as the zombies were; anyone who writes them as if they're no threat whatsoever will likely get a GM slapping. And remember, no spawning anything like a boss fight.
    • On the surface, these enemies come in the forms of decrepit or ghostly pirate ships crewed by pirates who are either ghostly themselves or monstrously part aquatic animal.
    • In the underwater structures, these enemies come in the forms of automated robots and turrets, which are as advanced as the relative section that they're in.
    • And in the water itself is the occasional dangerous creature like sharks or straight up aquatic monsters.
  • Flocks of animated books behaving kind of like seagulls are flying around and occasionally sitting on the various boats and structures on the surface. Like seagulls they will fly away if one gets close, but if you manage to catch one and start reading it, it will calm down and become inanimate until you stop reading.

Written on the boss plaque on Miss Tairee's desk:

Many things call the depths home, but there is one so fearsome that it became a thing of legend and myth to the outside world that knew so little about it. Can you defeat the mighty and terrifying defender of the greatest civilization?

Written on the reward plaque on Miss Tairee's desk:

When there's no punishment to making trouble, troublemakers tend to make more trouble. With the next challenge that is defeated, a prison will be added to the city, for putting troublemakers in.

I'm heading out for tonight; feeling tired enough that I almost forgot to post and say so. Tomorrow I'm going to be awake a bit earlier than I was today, but I'm going out to the chiropractor and starting some laundry before getting on my computer, so I probably won't be online until a little later. Also I'm planning on running out to grab a quick dinner sometime later tomorrow evening.

And of course I'll have to go to bed early tomorrow night, but it's the only night that I'll have to this week which makes me pretty happy.

EDIT: Wait, I forgot about Zelda talking to Miss Tairee. Real short post incoming. EDIT 2: And done. Now I've really gotta get going.

I couldn't think of a nice dream for either of my characters, so have this embarrassing flashback instead.

And by the way, don't drink and boat.

Locoman does not endorse drinking and operating watercraft, he just writes about fictional characters doing it.

DAY ELEVEN!!! GET READY EVERYBODY!!!!!

I think I'm going to make Sadness' final post and Wander and Sylvia's arrival in separate posts. I was watching a Top 10 with Inside Out in it yesterday, and I got really nostalgic, so I'll just give her a proper sendoff and be gone XD

Currently writing something. Currently procrastinating.

Time for X to get his servos in motion, and possibly fight a few Water based robot masters.

@Firock: Can you describe more detail what the buildings under the surface look like? Are they all like metal and directly surrounded by water, or are they surrounded a metal or concrete layer, giving some semblence or open space before leading into the tunnels?

Anyway, time to make a post for Karkat.

Here now, fully recapped. Will try to have a post up soon, though I am a bit distracted at the moment.

@Udthe Imp: I'm not sure what you mean. But basically, the upper areas of the underwater areas is like Bioshock, while further down it's more like Soma.

@Locoman: You know it's supposed to still be like, minutes after the transition right now, right? Rick really could not have had time to do everything you just handwaved over. At best you can say that that's what he will have been doing for the next while and not post for like a few days.

Day transition was at 6, right? I was writing that under the assumption that a few hours had passed since the transition and it was like 9 or so.

I'll hold off posting for a few days if that works.
