There's a perfectly nice and functional Frozen thread already, yanno.

Not a complaint, just bafflement. I was around when Shrek came out, when Up came out, when The Princess and the Frog, Toy Story 3, Finding Nemo, Cars, Madagascar - all major successes. Haven't watched half of them, but I can understand the appeal. With Frozen, I don't.
Frozen is in a pantheon of its own. Its gotten into Once Upon A Time, its got toys, and yet I don't hear anything about a sequel or a video game. Its heavily-requested for Kingdom Hearts. I've seen more people cosplay as this Elsa person than any other Disney/Pixar character. There's more than half a section of a store I work at dedicated to Frozen toys. We don't even carry Toy Story memorabilia, Buzz Lightyear dolls, and the rest of the Disney section is pretty sparse.
I'm not sure I'll ever watch it, the sheer amount of lasting hype over it may never equal my expectations going in. Like Up, Madagascar, and Cars, I'm afraid it's just one of those ridiculously successful CGI films I'll never sit down to, or be able to fully enjoy. But I'd like some external opinion as to why it was so phenomenal.
Was this movie really just that good?
