I'm playing it now. Seems interesting so far, if I like it I might make a trope page when I'm done.
All right, I played trough it this weekend, almost on one setting. World and the characters are really interesting, and I'd say they are the star of the show, even if the plot itself is a bit generic as far as cyberpunk goes. I'd would really like to see a sequel for this made!
For those who wonder what this game is about, it is a cyperpunk adventure game in the vein of The Snachter, with some Gabriel Knight mixed in for the good measure. One of the more interesting things about this is the fact that the dev team deliberately made cast as diverse as possible, and succeeded, by demonstrating that how much more interesting you can make your cast by not following conventions regarding the gender or sexual orientation you usually see in games. This shouldn't be a surprise tough since a lot of the people behind this tittle are also involved with the Gaymer X convention. Overall, this game was a quite a positive surprise, at least to me.
Also, shouldn't we try to get a trope page for this going? I am a bit surprised that there isn't one already!
I started a page for it. It's off to a weak start, but with the right effort, we can turn it into a proper page. ( https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Videogame/ReadOnlyMemories )

DAKOTA - THEY / SHENeato! I'll go seeking the fitting tropes tomorrow to give it some meat ^^
I finished a playthrough, and I really like this game. I screwed up some of the puzzles, though, so I'm on my second playthrough.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenI finished the game and liked it. I successfully completed the traffic and sigil puzzles, but I never actually learned the whole truth behind the murder, or encountered the prototype pink ROM that got mentioned a few times. Is that just a Sequel Hook, or did I miss something? Also, do we have trope for the "go into a dark apartment, turn on the lights and find a corpse" thing that got Double Subverted here?
♭What.Really? Huh, I thought those would get some light. We must be missing something.
Also, realized another layer of meaning for Turing's name: not only is the Turing test significant from an AI perspective, but Alan Turing was gay; rather fitting that Midboss named him such.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenIn the AMA with the dev team, they hinted at something about Grace, and said what happened with Hayden would be a definite 'maybe'
DAKOTA - THEY / SHESo the Updated Re-release is finally out. I'm not very far in, but voice acting makes this game flow a lot better. Also, Melissa Hutchinson (Clem from Telltale's Walking Dead) as Turing is incredible.
Oh nooooooooo they changed the smooth as hell title screen.
Oh well, excited to replay this.
I'm a bit sad they changed the title screen too. I generally liked the voice acting, but I haven't noticed many other differences, save one HUGE addition at the climax: Leon Dekker gets a backstory, with some very nice visual effect as he reflects on his family. One of my favorite instances of Cybernetics Eat Your Soul; I generally accept it in cyberpunk settings, but here Dekker explains why he's a murderous psychopath: the sensory input from everything left him suicidal, but his body wouldn't let him. The adrenaline rush he gets when he kills is the only way for him to feel anything. And he gets some dying words asking about his daughter.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenFinally got around to playing this, after owning it for a long time and not picking it up. Now I'm disappointed in myself for not doing so. I haven't enjoyed an adventure game this much since I got into the Blackwell series years ago.
Granted, there's not a lot of puzzling sometimes - more like an interactive movie with dialogue trees - good dialogue trees, mind - but the plot is great, the characters are great, Turing is one of more endearing characters I've seen in a video game in a while, and there's a lot of great social analogy.
Wouldn't mind if this series somehow kept going, with more mysteries and more growing of the worldbuilding and such, though given that it came out like four years ago and the version I'm playing is just an Updated Re-release that's probably unlikely.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.
So anybody played this? It kinda reminds me of Snatcher, but less dark and gloomy in appearance .-. I guess its throwback to old type of point and click adventure games huh?
