St. Anne Academy of Magic (SUs always open!)

Looks good to me, though I would like a bit more description as to how much damage her lightning bolt can do. Perhaps it's a like a tazer, and it will make the target spasm and probably knock them down?

It's pretty much just a Tazer at this point, she's too weak to do much more at the moment

@Karrin Blue, that's fine. That said, she has to learn the spell before she can actually use it. Most mages get their spells through careful study, though it's not unheard of for one to have a 'Eureka' moment and create a spell using their imagination. It's rare, but it can happen.

@Fergard Stratoavis, haha. We're at like, I think 24 characters and 21 R Pers. Another one won't hurt. If we hit 25 I'll use Rin Maru to draw everyone's characters as a (admittedly really crappy) thank-you present.

• Name: Dagan Turandus
• Gender: Male
• Age: 18
• Species: Demon - Krampus
• Appearance: Having a bad day.◊ He normally keeps himself clothed in loose clothing that can be easily replaced, things like silly t-shirts and sweatpants. Prefers to walk around shoeless. Is a little stocky, but still packs a scary amount of muscle, standing at eight feet when upright.
• History: Krampuses - Krampii? - have always been a mysterious race that supposedly represented the evil side of Christmas to Santa's good one. A group of demons that has been living alongside humans since the dawn of time, they were first worshipped as pagan deities, but as Christianity came they decided to go with the flow; dealing with "bad children" by whipping them with birches or stuffing coal into their Christmas socks. Dagan didn't have the opportunity for going into action yet, he's too young for that - plus, he doesn't find it too much attractive; just going out of the woodwork once a year to deal with some kids. Thankfully he was able to find some info about St. Anne's Academy and, using whatever he'd scrounged with some support from the Krampus Village and Saint Nick himself, he had managed to apply to the academy.
• Abilities:
  • He's naturally stronger and resilient than an average man, courtesy of his tall and bulky frame.
  • Bizarrely, he always has with him either lumps of coal or some birch branches.
  • He's a natural sneakman, able to move around undetected despite his frame.
• Skills:
  • Speaks fluent Latin, German and French.
  • Not bad with History.
  • Knows how to swordfight, a habit picked up out of boredom.
  • Can't get drunk, ever.

• Name: Antoin Reyva

• Gender: male

• Age: 17

• Element: Blood, a red single droplet of blood

• Appearance: By all appearances an insanely pretty young man, it can legitimately be difficult at times, what with his long dark red hair, effete facial features, and large green eyes, to tell what gender he's supposed to be. His outfits don't exactly help, as he's prone to choosing outfits either a male or a woman (albeit one very into goth culture) would wear. Most often he wears a black long sleeve shirt with several openings along the arms, tight black jeans, and black shoes that apparently zip up.

• Personality: And he's also a glory-seeking devil-may-care type, enjoying dangerous activities and people. He enjoys fights, and as such makes use of his capabilities both normal and mundane to draw people into altercation. He seems to have little sense of personal space. He likes to pretend to be good, kind and gentle, when inside, he's very much...different.

• History: the son of a human man and a very, very nasty mind controlling Faerie, Antoin inherited his father's human appearance and elements of his mother's mind control abilities. However, being that he is not a Faerie himself, the sufficiently strong willed can, when made aware of his attempt, stop his mind control - and once someone breaks his control, he can never even try to control them again. Antoin has by and large drifted through schools and academies before finding his way to this one.

• Spells:
  • Blood Control: Antoin can control and shape his blood into a variety of weapons, including increasing its density to be used as melee weapons. He can manipulate any other blood that he touches likewise.
  • Acidic Blood: at any time he can turn some of his blood into a highly corrosive acid.
  • Blood Infection: He can use this spell if he gets enough of his blood into a wound inflicted on the foe. His blood becomes a controlling spell that starts in the limb the wound is located in and spreads...very slowly. Too slowly to be really practical at this stage.

• Skills: highly manipulative, a capable close range fighter, very intelligent.

Haha. I said that you couldn't give Arlen lackeys. That doesn't change because you gave them signups. Like I said in the main thread, you can't make your characters help each other out like you've been doing. You can have Arlen start a gang and take over the school or steal the Philosopher's Stone, but why not achieve that by having Arlen make friends with other characters?

• Appearance: Hey, guys◊
• History: Hadar was born to an Estrie and a human man. Harad realized that he was trans at a young age, and luckily was born to very accepting parents, though he has yet to decide whether he wants to get surgery. Although he was Bar Mitzvahed, he is not particularly devout, only going to synagogue on the High Holy Days.
• Abilities: Hadar can fly as long as his hair is unbound, but as he keeps it rather short this isn't an issue. He can shapeshift into various animals, though he prefers cat form. As a vampire variant, he needs to drink blood to survive, though many of the standard vampire weaknesses do not apply; Hadar has no issues with religious iconography, holy ground, or sunlight. If Hadar is injured, the injury can be erased if Hadar is given bread and salt by the person who harmed him.
• Skills: Hadar is a skilled member of the cooking club, and has been in the school's robotics team for some time. He also has a part-time job at a nearby animal shelter.

Name: Nero Jones

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Type: Incidental Hero

Talent: Hand-to-hand combat

Appearance: 5'10", with a muscular but lean build. Dark-skinned, reflecting his Jamaican ancestry. Arms covered in black tattoos of knights and wolves. Tattoo of the letter X, also black, takes up a significant amount of space on his back. Has hazel eyes and blond dreadlocks (not his natural hair color) down to his mid-back. Frequently goes without a shirt in order to display his tattoos, and the clothing he does wear tends to stick strictly to the colors black and gold. In the event that he puts on armor, he doesn't care what it's made of, so long as it's a shiny silver.

History: Nero grew up in a rough part of Manchester where most people didn't make it six months without giving up and moving out. The Jones family, on the other hand, had settled there soon after moving from Jamaica and stuck it out ever since. Nero often had to get into fights in order to stave off the more aggressive kids at school, and he got good at it fast. His only releases from the reality of his situation were his passions for music and urban exploration.

One winter night, Nero went to a rave with his friends. On the way home, he got separated from the group and ended up caught in a snowstorm. The stress of being abandoned out in the cold awakened the power within him, and he managed to find his way home, where his parents were so shocked that he hadn't suffered any injury from being out in the cold that they flat out forgot to punish him for breaking curfew. The next day, Nero got dragged into yet another fight and found that punches that used to knock him senseless didn't even bruise him. Realizing he'd become far tougher than your average Jones, he convinced his parents to let him go to St. Anne's the moment his invitation reached him.

Abilities: Nero is far tougher in general than a normal human being, capable of shrugging off attacks that would break a normal person's bones. If he got hit head-on by a car, it would seriously injure him, but he'd be guaranteed to survive. Nero is also incredibly resistant to the cold; the point where he considers putting on a long-sleeved shirt is the point where most people are guaranteed to get hypothermia.

Skills: In a no-holds-barred streetfight, Nero is almost impossible to beat, thanks to his years of experience at it. Nero can also use a sword in combat thanks to fencing classes he took at school, but he's no expert at it and he doesn't own a sword. Other non-combat skills and hobbies of Nero's include parkour, climbing, playing the drums, and freestyling over dubstep and grime songs.

Accepted. I take it you mean that if he's fighting a normal, unarmed person in a street fight, he wouldn't lose, but if he fought, say, a demon, he'd have a tougher time. Am I correct?
