Only thing I find offputting about the game so far is that I think they're leaning too hard on parodying the Marvel Cinematic Universe instead of superheroes in general. Hopefully the full game will have broader humor.
So to make a pretty tasteless joke, South Parks twitter account tweeted an image of Carman freezing to death in the snow in response to the blizzards currently hitting across America.

For whatever reason, Nintendo fans are taking this as confirmation that Fractured But Whole is being ported to the Switch.
Why would you want this game if you don't know the show and can't recognise a reference?
I mean Cartman specifically says that he's coming to Nintendo.
You know, you can be a fan of a 227-episode show without having seen every single episode or being able to remember every reference off the top of your head.
Yes, Cartman did say that. On the first of November 2006. In the episode Go God Go. The quote being preceeded by Ms. Garrison saying the words "Yeah, pound my monkey hole, Richard! Yeah, I'm a monkey all right!" and followed by a character named Shvek saying "We have a pulse", and Cartman calling Leopold "Butters" Stotch a black asshole.
Its a pretty well known two parter, probably as well known as the Imaginationland arc.

It's really cool that your knowledge of the show is so exacting, detailed, and encyclopedic, but you really don't need to gatekeep people who don't remember episode titles, original airdates, and exact dialogue exchanges. It's just not reasonable to have such high standards to judge whether people are allowed to be excited over a video game.
Why would I not expect Nintendo fans (i.e the only people who would care about the game coming to the Switch) to know the episode that focuses on a Nintendo console. Its like expecting fans of South Park who like the Ps 4 or Xbone to know about the Console Wars Game of Thrones episodes. Or WOW fans to know of Make Love Not Warcraft. Or Minecraft fans to know of the Minecraft South Park episode. Like, you somehow managed to never see the episode of the show that is specifically about this thing you love.
You don't need to know this precise quote, because that scene of Cartman freezing to death in the snow is tied to him wanting a Nintendo product, and is such a big part of the plot for that episode that I don't see how you could have even seen that episode and not make the connection.

Because they only watch when the show airs on TV instead of looking up old episodes based on their hobbies? Because they started watching sometime in the eleven years since that episode aired and didn't bother to do an Archive Binge? Because you can like the Switch without being such a hardcore Nintendo fan that you search out all of the episodes of shows you like that happen to deal with Nintendo?
Who watches South Park on TV? You binge watch that shit on Netflix or torrents these days.
And I call BS on the last one. The Switch did not change a singl persons mind about Nintendo except against them in a few cases.
I'm pretty sure I watched the episode you're talking about but I don't remember anything about that particular scene, because the damn thing aired over 10 years ago.
How do you not remember that Cartman froze himself to death? Thats how he got to the future.
You seem to have a bad case of Fan Myopia. South Park is such a popular show that of course most of its viewers are the ones who will watch an episode on TV but not necessarily rewatch it online or remember the little details, even if one of those little details is the plot to one episode out of 227. You also completely missed the point of the Nintendo fan thing: just because you're a Nintendo fan doesn't mean you're going to be looking up Nintedo-themed episodes of stuff.

I'm petty sure the casual fan who only watches it on TV if its on and the remote is over there and they don't feel like getting up is not the target audience for the game.
And you continue to ignore that Netflix binging is the default method for older media consumption these days.
I'm just going to link to Fan Myopia again, because you really don't seem to get that your TV watching habits are not universal.
And I'm going to point out you don't get to claim Fan Myopia for a game that is built on references to the damn show and its history.
The last game referenced things like Chinpokomon, Crack Whore Monthly, the Greys, the boys Ninja fantasy, Stans gay dog, Pip, Mr Hat, Man Bear Pig, the crappy bootleg Terrence and Phillip dolls, and The Entity. It was built for fans, but you seem confused why I'd think its built for fans and not nassume its a game made for everyone whether they like South Park or not.
Fan Myopia is about people overestimating how popular something is outside the fandom. But this game exists only for people within the fandom - Fan Myopia doesn't apply in any way.
Examples from the Fan Myopia page:
- Failing to understand how one can be just a "casual fan" of a particular work.
- Overestimating the amount of free time other fans of a series or just potential audience members have to actually go out and read/watch/play a certain work.
- Telling their fandom in-jokes constantly, seemingly unaware that most of the people who are listening/reading won't understand what they are running on about.
- A related phenomenon is assuming that one's own forum or subset of the community is an accurate representation of the fandom as a whole.
Most fans of South Park are casual, and that's fine. Most people who play the game will not get every reference, and they don't need to to enjoy it. They're still fans and they're still allowed to like the game.

So, no Nintendo Switch port for the moment. Not surprising considering Nintendo is often thought of as a family console and South Park is...South Park.
They got the FPS back in the 90's.
Course, that was a shitty licensed game nobody cared about.
I mean, they let in Skyrim, Bayonetta, and Disgaea, and I wouldn't really consider those games for the family.
It's been 3000 years…Its not about whether Nintendo would "let in" the game. They were desperate enough to publish Devils Third. Its about if the publisher thinks that Nintendos userbase would actually buy the game in enough volume to be worth porting the game to.

So with a tie-in episode released and the game set to be released Tuesday...I can’t find any reviews.
However, details on two story DLC just hit as well as a combat challenge.
The first is “From Dusk Till Casa Bonita” about the goth kids, and the second is “Bring the Crunch” to which no details are available just yet.

I assume it will detail the return of Mintberry Crunch.
Reviews are in, and well, they’re mostly positive with some caveats.

The big negative review comes from Ars Technica, which view it as a hilarious South Park episode but as a game is more...questionable.

As far as listings go, since the game's a direct sequel starring the same protagonist, should relevant crossover listings be added to the New Kid's two Character Page sections?
Namely, should Dovahkiin be added as a name in the Fractured But Whole page (since that was established at the end of the previous game), and should Samus Is a Girl be added to the Stick of Truth page? (as well as noting that Butters and Dovahkiin would be Platonic Life-Partners if they were established as being a girl), among other things.
It's good that the Axis powers could get back together to make this game.
