I am surprised they're so honest about the ridiculousness of flipping three people over yourself from three separate directions at once that they'll put it in a trailer.

Vortiger is alright. This combined with the Shugo rework shows how much the devs have learned about balancing. Really, it comes down to normalizing attack speeds; 500ms is just fast enough to be unreactable and create proper mixups. With this in mind, balancing other heroes will be easier. Lawbringer is next, and I have faith that the devs will do right by him.

After that I'm expecting Raider will get the next one, maybe followed by Aramusha. After that it's more a matter of tweaking some of the B tier heroes like Nobushi and Centurion. I might make Nobushi's lights from neutral faster; while they're 500ms, the static guard and animation makes them pretty easy to parry. Right now you can't really put up a good offense with Nobushi without using up a lot of stamina with feinting and hidden stance. Centurion should also be able to feint from his unblockable so he has a real mixup. As of right now Centis easy to defend against if you're patient enough.

Aramusha still needs more unblockables, since simple blocking still shuts him down. Otherwise, most of the heroes are now viable in competitive, and even the weaker ones have something to offer in team fights.

Buncha new signatures being added. Most notably, the Berserker's one is a tribute to the dearly-departed Stefán Karl Stefánsson's Robbie Rotten character and available for free.

Mmmm, the samurai with the axe hero is coming soon.

It'll be the like, one of five times media has ever indicated the medieval Japanese used axes in battle. (understandably, they were rare compared to like everyone else)

Yeah, normally samurai are seen as using pikes, bows, and swords.

Yeah, this will be the second Samurai that I'll be playing regularly since Nobushi.

Hopefully they won't be Shugo 2.0 looks wise.

I have a good news for you then. Instead of a Shugoki look-alike, we got a Japanese axe-wielding female Jason with supernatural power I guess?

Also, the hero class' name is Hitokiri.

I don't mind if their edgy I really am liking the mask and axe.

I recognize that mask from somewhere, forgot where though.

Also, I am assuming that the female Hitokri is named Sakura while the male is named Hitokri.

Yeah, his name's Yato, Hitokiri's the hero class's title, like Warden or Black Prior.

The mask, I don't know exactly either. The simplicity of it compared to the other masks like Kensei or Shugoki though makes me guess it may be based on the fashion choices of some samurai to portray themselves as holy by adorning their armour to resemble a humble and emaciated buddhist monk, though.

It reminds me of Japanese theater doll heads which I think is intentional.

Also some people were pointing out that this years title, Harbringers might be a reference to the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse which would be quite fitting as the For Honor devs have talked about wanting to have a second Cataclysm event for the game.

Black Prior would be War, Hitokiri would be Death, and the Wu Lin and Viking Heavy could be either Famine or Conquest respectively.

Yeah, it's probably a Japanese theatre thing I'm not familiar with like...well, most of the newer Samurai helmets, those were just particularly stark enough for me to say "most definitely probably Japanese theatre".

Here's someone claiming Hitokiri is apparently totally buddhist-shinto.

I am curious on what their other armor would be. More horror themed stuff would be interesting.

Oh boy.

Yeah they have said before they wanted one, and I am assuming this will likely be the time when they add the Wu Lin faction to the faction conflict board. The current Wu Lin heroes are just running from their homeland due to a nasty civil war going on but the new Wu Lin hero might bring the rest of the Wu Lin faction in.
