She nods and scratch her chin, attempting to look serious and focused.

Oooh, I see ! Well, my name is just Morgan ! Last name is...

Morgan thinks for about two seconds.

Well, Morgan's good enough !

The Masked Man nods, and his eyes flash a few times, which may catch Morgan off guard.

"Seems I really don't have any data going by name and appearance.", he says. "Are you new here, or have we just never crossed paths?"

What's a data ? she asks, in confusion. She looks unnerved by her flashing eyes, being from a medieval world.

I think we just never met, life decided to, huh, put us together randomly !

Deep Noctilum

Chris might be somewhat distressed by the response that he gets back — it's not the coherent speech of a demon, or the animalistic desires of a beast. No — it was more like an empty space where a response should have been, with vague traces of the ideas of hunger, and of a hive. That should probably be taken as a no. Given that it seemed to have the capacity to respond, perhaps it would be worth a shot later on. Perhaps not. It was, after all, a Distraction Carnifex.

Also Thranix's mind was in there for some reason. Just his idle thoughts, but mostly, Damn, I'm hungry... I wonder if I can eat this thing?

Thranix began to step to the left, so the Carnifex responded by slowly circling to the right. It exhibited an extraordinary amount of precaution and patience. How experienceD was this thing?

Megan rolled to the ground, and had barely enough time to down one of her two mana potions, and one of her remaining health potions. It was getting down to the wire for her now.

And then the Jagras started doing their thing, because of course they did. She swung her blade back and forth, the alchemical flames having returned to their normal orange-white color, and tried to fend them off while she recovered. She managed well enough, despite the bites on her arms and legs, and went to hack at the back of the Leshen's kneecaps. The alchemical flames on her blade would only last a bit longer before she would need to re-apply them.

"Fuck you, and fuck your knees!"

Reyna takes out one Jagras and knocks a few others away.

Despite Megan's attempts, the Ancient Leshen rises back up to its feet.

It lets out one more deafening roar before teleporting away. The surviving Jagras follow it to its new location through various impassable nooks and crannies.

And, perhaps most horrifyingly, Harenzo teleports away with it.

Reyna looks at the scene in shock. "Okay that's probably bad."

She hurriedly scatters Lifepowder before sprinting down the trail of Scoutflies along with the rest of the team, leading directly to...

A wide-open clearing on the edge of Noctilum, Primordia visible just to the north.

As Reyna stumbles to a stop, she looks around and points out the surrounding flora. It includes bundles of long-stemmed plants with white, tube-like flowers. "Hold on, there's Vitalilies from my world in this area. What are they doing here?"

They don't have time to dwell on that, because there stands the Ancient Leshen, Harenzo at its side.

It roars for the final time, and the skies run black with Revoltures, swarming about and forming a huge cluster around it, as the Jagras pour out of the metaphorical woodwork and form an organized rank behind it.

The Ancient Leshen's aura is now permanently at maximum power. All of its hand attacks will cause bleeding.

But then, as the excess Revoltures disperse into the trees, day breaks.

And with good timing, because the Ancient Leshen is roaring loud enough to make the ground tremble as it calls more and more Revoltures to itself and OH GOD IT'S THE CROWSPLOSION.

Reyna hurriedly scrambles through her seemingly bottomless pockets to find another Flash Pod.

In the time it took the heroines to get there, Fey Harenzo has grown stronger due to the Ancient Leshen not being caught up in the middle of a fight.

The Masked Man looks confused for a moment, not taking possible time period differences into account.

"Data is a set of values of subjects with respect to qualitative or quantitative variables.", he says, having shifted back to his usual stoic demeanor.

He then realizes she'll likely not understand what that means.

"It's like information, but put into digital form.", he says, figuring she'll get that.

Oh... you mean... artificial books ? she says. There is a funny man who visit my brother sometimes. He has weird blue pages that aren't pages, is that digital ?

Morgan look genuinely interested in that, seemingly being of the curious type.

Wendy stand still when Harenzo vanishes, and then she ANGRILY start dancing, executing the Quiver Dance and reaching her full power as a result, before running for the Ancient Leshen. While she does look... well, like any Lilligant, Wendy is almost scary.

Even the imminent CROWSPLOSION doesn't seem to bother her !

LET HIM GO ! NOW ! she orders, preparing to launch an Energy Blast. Harenzo get an idea and make a dash for her, blocking her way... and then get kicked away by Tokza. He does attempt to teleport but she tackle him and easily wrestle him to the ground.

Come on, you're the chosen one ! Fight that shit !

Now unbothered, Wendy tosses her Energy Ball at the Leshen's head. —

The bleeding Harenzo, meanwhile, is able to hear Tokza's words, since she's close to him and he has some psychic skills. He sighs and start to get back up, his white tattoo glowing as the air radiates around him.

Alright. You better work out. he says, eyeing his tattoo, as it glows.

"That sounds more like holograms to me. Those are capable of showing data, and pictures of objects and people.", the Masked Man says.

Oh, they're books but they are not on pages. she says. Is that how technology will change ? I mean, I won't be able to witness it but... oh boy, this is why this world is worth it ! declares Morgan, happily.

The Masked Man finally seems to realize what's going on.

"Oh, you're from a world with more primitive technology."

He then ponders about something, then slightly smirks as he rolls up his right sleeve and takes off his glove, revealing to Morgan that his right arm is made of metal. Then he has it morph into his arm cannon.

"This is only one of the things that's possible to create in my time."

H-hey, that's pretty insulting ! We do have magic and-hooo your arm is a canon ! she says, in stunned awe. T-that's amazing !

Baba Yaga simply smiles even as the air fills with millions of Revoltures, for as the dark knight fades away completely, a new sound of galloping hooves can be faintly heard over the screeches.

Dawnbreak

A knight of pure white, riding on an equally radiant steed◊, gallops into the clearing, wielding a long spear and a round shield. With a whinny, the horse rears up on its hind legs as the knight raises his spear high, and its tip catches the first rays of the dawn.

"Cover eyes", Baba quietly says.

Originating from the tip of the spear, a veritable deluge of white light floods the area and illuminates the gloom of the forest, powerful enough to blind absolutely anyone unprotected. The Leshen and its hordes should be the ones affected most, but even Baba's allies might be find themselves dazed if they fail to take preventive measures, hence her warning.

"It's fully functional too.", he says, pointing it away from Morgan before charging some energy in it. He doesn't actually fire a blast though, not wanting to risk drawing people's attention and having them assume that he's attacking Morgan.

"We have something that's a little like magic too.", he says, raising his index finger from his left arm and having sparks run over it.

"It's called PSI. Power that draws energy from your mind."

Noctilum

Megan followed close behind Reyna, and when she noticed the building crowsplosion, she had but one thing to say.

"Ffffffffuck."

She tried to calm down, but her mind was racing at a hundred thousand miles an hour, trying to find a place to get out of range of the impending waves of black-feathered, winged, cawing death.

"Reyna, is this gonna be like Behemoth all over again? Where the fuck are the comet counterparts?"

She seemed actually kind of terrified of the idea of being murdered by a murder.

PSI ? Does that stand for something ? Like Psychic... huh... something something ? she declares.

Speaking of magic, may I demonstrate a brand new spell ? follows up Morgan, clutching her book.

"No, it's not -" Reyna starts.

Then the light of Dawn washes over, blinding all the Jagras all over again and causing the Ancient Leshen to stumble.

"... Yeah. Thank you very much!" Reyna calls to Baba Yaga and Dawn. Then she just bull-rushes to the nearest small ledge and re-draws Wyvern Ignition while facing toward the Ancient Leshen from on top of it.

The Trail

The Ancient Leshen sticks its arms into the ground and sends forth snaking roots like the 'V' attacks from before, only this time there are as many of the roots as there are enemies... which would be scary, if it wasn't facing in the wrong direction due to being blinded. Still, anyone who gets too close will be hit by at least one of these root trails.

Fey Harenzo's eyes glint and he fires a Psybeam from his forehead.

"PSI and PK, the latter of which is used for offensive PSI, stand for Psionics and Psychokinesis.", the Masked Man says.

He cancels his energy gathering and lowers his other hand.

"A spell? Alright.", he says, a little intrigued.

Wendy yells and proceed to open fire, using Petal Dance to attempt to surround the Leshen in a small vortex of magical, cutting leaves that explode afterwards, to cause even more damage to him. Wendy dances gratefully as she performs it, but it seems like she's ready to danse again, spreading her arms wide and throwing her head back.

Harenzo dodge, running to the left of the beam, and punch at Fey Harenzo with his special arm. The punch, however, is special, causing a shockwave to appear and destroying the "ground" around them, punching with enough force to send Fey Harenzo flying !

The real deal look surprised but, if allowed to attack, smirk and prepare to attack once more, readying his arm.

She nods, raises one hand, and fire a magical orb at the branch. There's a small, purple implosion around it, and when it re-appears, it's basically destroyed, as one would except.

However, Morgan snaps her fingers, and the image shimmers, revealing that the branch is intact !

Gaze upon my fake-out technique, haha ! It doesn't harm the target. It just create an illusion to make it seems like something happened on the spot that was struck though !

The Masked Man looks genuinely impressed.

"This opens up a lot of possibilities to catch your enemy off guard."

She sounds content and bows graciously.

My father used it a little, sometimes. I'm perfecting it, however ! Day by day !

Noctilum

"Oh. Well. Guess that works too."

Megan successfully calmed herself, and slipped into a more focused state. One might even call it a... serene state of mind.

The gold glow of her Hyper Mode mixed with the crystal-blue of the mana surging through her body, and produce an golden color with the slightest tinge of green at the edges. She held her sword in both hands, and lowered into a stance, ready to burst into a sprint — which she did, but not before saying something.

"Let's dance."

With that, she rushed towards the Ancient Leshen, and decided to stay out of Reyna's way, instead going for a strike to the creature's wooden thighs. The extra force from her Hyper Mode wasn't all that much right now, given that it was just channeled into her body, but it might help.

"Judging by the possibilities of this spell, I'd say it's worth your time.", the Masked Man says.

"Perfecting it may take a lot of time. I know I took some time perfecting my saber."

He unsheathes it, revealing it to be just a sword handle. After a moment of focus though, electricity surges through the sword, creating a blade of pure concentrated lightning.

She looks awed, even attempts to touch it, but then remember that it's electricity and back off.

There are bolt-throwing swords in our world. I could wield them but the one who has them in our group is mean... declares the tactician. But they don't look as cool as that sword ! Oh, and there is someone with an electric sword ! He has a lobster armor, haha !

"Oh, you're part of a group? Are there a lot of you?"

Hm...

She hesitates, ponder, imagine, and finally...

Yeah. There's my mom, my brother, my sister-in-law, huh... dad but al-but he's small and cute and he's a girl, huh... the lobster prince, his angry pineapple brother, his brother's pretty purple lady with the funny faces, the handsome prince who dislikes lobster prince and angry pineapple prince, his sister who is pretty crazy, an amusing blond man who's always unlucky, huh... There's a blue-haired lady but everyone is telling me to stay away from her. Well, everyone but the mean man with the bolt sword.
